State Motion to recover Investigative Costs

There was a case not too long ago, here in FL, where a 13-14 year old stayed out all night and when she returned home the next morning, the story she told her parents was that she was kidnapped and raped. Well, the police pulled out all the stops looking for this so called 'kidnapper and rapist', for several hours, a K-9 unit, etc., even used their helicopter to search the area. About 9 hours into the investigation, the girl changed her story, none of what she said was true, she admitted telling her parents the story to keep from getting in trouble for staying out all night with a boy.

It wasn't long before LE went after her (her parents) for reimbursement, to include the fuel burned in helicopter used in the search.

Why? Because her lie caused them use manpower and resources that were tied up chasing her lie, when instead, they could have been used somewhere else or available to use in a real crisis, if needed.

IMO, they should be reimbursed. The money that funds LE agency's come out of taxes, which we all pay into.

Far years, as long as I could ever remember.....you were told never, ever pull a fire alarm if there is no fire......it means BIG TROUBLE. Same standard should apply to lying to LE. There is no difference. jmo

As far as we know, Casey never told ANYONE in authority about that new script thing.. All we know of it is what Cindy said.. I don't know about you or anyone else, but I don't trust what Cindy says. She's as much of a liar as her daughter...

I thought she told that to Lee? At least, he was the one who testified to it.

She never told anybody IN AUTHORITY about the new script. She clammed up as soon as Baez got into the picture. I do seem to remember that one of her family came up with that story. Who knows if it really came from KC originally though. That whole family has problems with telling the truth and only the truth.
LE never paid attention to it, only LP did, resulting in that ridiculous televised spectacle of searching the river. May be another family ploy to divert searching at a location closer to Hope Spring.
That said, if the law allows for it, HHJP will probably come up with some bucks that she has to pay. HHJP is very concerned about his curtailed budget, as evidenced by the trial, so I harbor high hopes on his verdict which could be very expensive for the KC gang..

I wonder if JBP can find out how much she paid. Sounds like she did reimburse them for at least part of the search. Snipped from the article:

I think the logical cut off date should be October14,2008. The day she was indicted for murder.

i say she needs to reimburse the time,the $$$$ the wasted resources looking for a child that she told them was kidnapped( when we knew she was already dead) from july 17.2008 until at least dec 2008/when caylee was FINALLY found. jmo. even if( playing devils advocate here) caylee did drown, or left in trunk, or whatever "accidental" death senario, she could have womaned up and admitted what happened and lead her to caylees body. irrc yuri,ect gave her SEVERAL opportunites to change her mind/story/ we know something happened where people may think of you badly" and NOPE she clung to the nanny story like gospel. so yes, she (IMO) got away w/ murder, her probabtion is a joke( doesnt have to get a job, doesnt even have to go to school or take online classes) she needs to at least be held accountable for crying wolf, and the time and $$$ tied up on this wild goose chase.while knowing EXACTLY where caylee was, just biding time for the forensic evidence to fade( and thanks to TS faye) wash away any of her guilt/implication.just moo, and certianly dont have to see it like i do/agree w/ me.:twocents:

JMO and FWIW, I think the time should go until Dec. 19th, 2008, when the remains found were identified to be Caylee's. Due to FICA's initial lies, subsequent lies and refusal to cooperate with LE and remain silent, LE still had to search for Caylee, she was still missing. JMO.

I agree with your date. After all, the defense team and the Anthony family were still putting forth alleged sightings of a live Caylee and even photographs of Zenaida clear up until the remains were proven to be Caylee.

Hmm.. I wonder what ever happened to those alleged photographs of a supposed "Zenaida" that the defense bragged about?

...and let's not forget that poor little girl in the Florida mall. IIRC there was also a father who had to prove that his daughter wasn't Caylee. So many were affected by Casey's lies...so so many.

Yep! Those are the photos I was talking about! Isn't it interesting how the announcement of these "invisible" photos of an "invisible" woman came just a week before the indictment came down? What a coincidence, huh? :waitasec:

Whatever charges FCA will be held responsible for, I hope that there is a stipulation that the charges will remain open on the books until they have been paid. If that takes ten years or fifty years, so be it. I would also like to see a requirement that FCA is to submit a signed mothly statement of all earnings, freebies, etc. If she lies, back to jail.

According to that article that sighting was in November as well.. Mason is really trying to skip out on a lot of investigations that happened well AFTER the indictment.
