The one directly behind Tanisha and Harold was Travis' older brother. Not sure if that is who you mean.

I would have to be seriously medicated to maintain the self-control that the Alexanders have exhibited in that courtroom. I admire their strength.

No, as everybody knows, that would be all it takes for a hung jury and a retrial. Also, on HNL, you don't really think they would have anything unscripted? Of course not, a mock vote of 11-1 is SOOOOOOoooooo much more fun to talk about on the show.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they also didn't deliberate for several days while the lone juror actually gets to talk it out with the other 11. I wouldn't read that much into anything from HNL.

That's what sickens me about HLN and the former In Session, Nancy Grace, JVM and Dr Drew. It's tabloid trash!

Instead of having intelligent discussions that educate and inform...they have fabricated bull pucky, moronic callers, experts commenting who have obviously not watched or followed the trial. It's a waste, huge waste.

Why dumb it down to the point of laughable dribble?

Jill Hayes Neurophysiologist, is going to testify for the state , after Geffner. WOO HOO!!! ( Assuming the judge allows it), according to Beth, this is the additional witness the state filed notice of calling. Love, love, love Juan Martinez.
He is not taking the defense Johnny Come Lately laying down, he has another expert of his own. Love him!!! The defense just NEVER LEARNS!!!

Yes, the Alexander family sure needs the support during these trying times.

They are so strong.

Yes, I slept from 11:00-6:30 PST. I'm at work today. :seeya:

Me too. Thank you for saying this. The kindnesses shown by so many people to the Alexander's has been extraordinary.

BTW, did you get more than an hour of sleep!?? :seeya:

My list of snacks for closing (though I'm not sure if I'll have an appetite)

A couple of barrels of Cheetos/Planters/Utz

Funyuns Onion Rings

Cape Cod potato chips..all varieties!

Kettle chips (Cheddar and red onion flavour)

Coke (made with real sugar) in small glass bottles

Don't OD. LOL

I do have to thank ALV for her term "fluid boundaries". It perfectly explains how my hubby justifies taking up all of our queen size bed while if hover over the side of it on 3 inches of space. But does it explain Jodi? Meh, not so much, in fact, epic fail.

Ok, so Beth Karas said that now the prosecution wants to put on their own neuropsychologist on the stand. I'm not sure if that's possible but there it is. Jill Hayes.

Also it depends on a person's own perceptions of what's "right" and "wrong." There is no doubt he considered Travis a good friend, but you can be friends with someone and not agree with everything they do. Chris was already married with kids, I don't know he and Sky's history, but I'm assuming they got married young and didn't date a lot of people before. He was at one point in his life, and Travis was at a different point...he was married doing the married thing, Travis was single doing the single thing. Sometimes people in these two different statuses can't really understand the other. But obviously it wasn't a big deal to them, they were still very good friends.

I don't understand why people think it's so strange that a young, successful, outgoing man would flirt with women and flirt with as many women as will flirt back with them. I think this is just normal behavior. Even the sexual jokes on text message is normal for young single guys. There are married guys who do the same thing...which is worse? I can't believe the defense is trying to paint Travis in this light. He did nothing wrong...even if he had been having sex with a couple of the women at the same time (which he wasn't), there are many guys who do that, and he was not married so who is anyone to judge that that would be anything wrong?

I want to really scream at the defense when they bring up Travis flirting and how this went against his religion, etc...I just want to say, "it was HIS religion, it was HIS life." If it was going against his "moral code," then it's HIS OWN MORAL CODE, not anyone else's. What I'm saying is that if there was a conflict b/w what he believed and what he was doing, then it was HIS OWN INTERNAL CONFLICT. I don't see how that would affect anyone except him, so I'm not seeing the big deal in that. Hopefully the jury will see this.

I love how Jodi lying was "protecting" Travis, her promiscuity was a result of being used and misunderstood and that her "facials" a source of humiliation despite Jodi asking for said facials while Travis lying was deceptive, his constant flirting immoral and his refusal to marry Jodi was abusive.

Hmmmmm.

Seems to me Jodi is the one who purchased 2 packs of facial cleanser in hopeful anticipation of her trip to Cancun. :floorlaugh:

And I also find it hilarious that the defense conveniently left the allegations of Jodi crawling through the doggie door unaddressed. Trying to pretend no one on the jury heard it. *snort*

They could decide in the passageway to jury room and never even sit down. Could be a show of hands in the hallway and back in 2 minutes.

Lol..that would be so funny. Highly doubt that though. JSS wouldn't know what to do with herself...she was expecting a long break!

I hope, in the back of the juror's minds, that they think of public safety if JA is acquitted and allowed to walk. I know. They are only supposed to look at the facts of the case. JA will kill again. She is an enormous threat to others. IMO

Zuri,
I am sure we all agree she would kill again. She has shown no remorse. In her sick brain, she believes she was justified since he didn't want her anymore.

I don't have any doubt the jury will vote guilty of murder 1, premeditated. if there is one holdout, I believe the other eleven will convince him/her that this was premeditated.

I am not certain of the death penalty. She may get LWOP. Either way, she needs to pay for what she did to Travis. Can you imagine being locked away in your thirties for the remainder of your life in a cell? But knowing JA, she would thrive. She isn't like the rest of us.

If that is the case, I don't understand why he filed a new List of Witnesses this morning.
Once she's convicted of first-degree murder, the trial moves to the aggravation phase. The prosecution must prove the existence of the aggravating circumstances beyond a reasonable doubt. If the jury finds the state met its burden of proof in this phase, then we move on to the penalty phase, where they decide between LWOP or death. The additional witnesses are probably related to one or both of the aforementioned phases.

:

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh: I just pretend my house is spic and span.

I've been doing this so long, I have it down to a science. I can cheat ... And alternate stuff so it stays and smells like I've been cleaning daily!

A few tips...

Dump bleach in the toilets.. Quick swish, close the lid.

Spray all window sills and door frame with furniture polish.

Vacuum

Swiffer

Done... 20 minutes tops!

Actually, I really cannot wait for this.

I hope Dr. Geffner is well prepared, because Juan will be over him. :rocker:

No amount of prep is gonna help this witness from that which is JM. :seeya:

Not sure if any of you out there saw the "HLN After Dark" show last night. The mock trial for the in-studio jury was "DID JODI ARIAS COMMIT 1st DEGREE MURDER?"

In summary 11 out of 12 jurors voted Guilty. 1 juror voted "not guilty", and as everybody knows, that's all it takes for Ms. Arias to walk...

The one juror that did not vote Guilty agreed with a premise that was created by the "dream team" of defense experts. Their assertion is that because Jodi spent 14 hours at Travis' house, even though she may have intended to murder him, this timeline shows that she had the opportunity to kill immediately, but changed her mind. Then...something happened that led to an argument, fight, his death, etc.... Based on this assertion, the defense argued that 1st Degree Murder can be taken out of consideration if there is evidence that the person changed their mind

Sadly, the HLN prosecution team had no answer for this.

I sure as hell hope the defense team in this case does not try to pull a stunt like this to confuse the jurors.

Let's please keep this in mind, and hope everyone in that courtroom does too, including Juan and the jurors - We all know that Jodi turned her phone off, used gas, cans flipped her license plate, etc. to avoid detection. What has been one of the most basic vital factors to avoiding detection when travelling "off the grid" since the inception of time??
TRAVELING UNDER THE COVER OF DARKNESS

For Jodi to arrive at Travis' house at 4:00 AM, she would have left the Pasadena, CA area at approximately 10:00 PM (shortly after nightfall). And anyone that has lived in Arizona in June knows, the sun rises by 5:00 AM. She used this small 7-8 hour window of darkness to make her murder trip to Travis' house.

If Travis was killed close to 6:00 PM on June 4th, this allowed Jodi just enough time to put his body back in the shower, clean herself up, change her clothes, collect the murder weapons, dispose the camera, try to clean the scene, etc. All of this would have taken approximately 2 hours IMO. Sunset on June 4th, 2008 in Mesa, AZ was approximately 7:34 PM. Perfect timing for Jodi's getaway.

The timing of this murder in no way shape or form should absolve Jodi of 1st degree murder charges. In fact, IMO it further goes to premeditation. I hope this hits home with the jury this weekend.

I'm sure this has been pointed out by now but one juror votin not guilty (not possible in my opinion) doesn't mean she walks. It means it's a hung jury and it will all have to start again. There is no way JA is walking out of that jail (or prison) for a long time. She admitted she killed him, self defense or not, and she is guilty. It's just a matter of deciding which degree and what her punishment will be.
