Maybe he's panicking? I think this could cause severe problems for any family currently in Russia. Putin has already made his opinion clear. The Russian anti-terrorist squad will take its cue from him. They are not known for their gentle ways.

Yes! LE wants to speak with him about what they saw. If he was just a bystander, he might not just go to authorities because he was raised to not trust them. Hard for us to understand but we weren't raised up in that. Kwim?

This is total suspicion , but with the fathers insistence that all hell will break loose, talks of conspiracy if his son is killed ..... I wonder if other family members aren't speaking out to get safety from US law enforcement. The uncles insistence that they have "nothing to do with that family" tells me there is more to the story.

All hell will probably let loose because Chechnya rebels will probably commit more terrorist acts,not just here but in Russia.

I hope the family doesn't get harmed if they are innocent in all of this. They should be very gentle with innocent people.......not everyone related to these boys are terrorist.

The spelling is Jahar (pronounced as spelled) not "Jakar". It's the Americanized version of his name.

WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — The White House Situation Room has been activated as the situation in Boston continues to unfold, CBS News reports.
President Barack Obama was briefed for an hour Friday morning on the developments in the Boston Marathon bombing investigation.

Yeah based on subsequent tweets elsewhere, I bet it should have been activated.

Yes they did. They escorted her out to a black SUV and patted her down....she was carrying a child....that was probably around 10am or so.

Yea TBH, I could care less what his friends and family say, that he was a nice boy and all that. The man is responsible for the bombing of the marathon, killing an MIT officer and causing an incredible manhunt through the area. He's a terrorist, that's all he is and that's what he will be viewed as.

He's no different than the terrorists who highjacked those planes on 9/11.

I went to bed early last night...and didn't wake up until 2:30 when I found out all hell was breaking loose and it took me HOURS to catch up...I was reading from the beginning of the thread not realizing things were still happening!! LOL!

I am exhausted and need to go back to bed but am so afraid to miss anything! If I have sat here for days following this I will be so mad at myself if I miss it finally coming to an end live!

Friends on CNN that knew him (not showing their faces) are pronouncing it ja-HAR .... Like Jar with an "H". Just the way it's spelled. It's also the way he, himself, spelled it on social media accounts.
