Terrorist led organization? No, we didn't figure out anything of the sort.

The comment from his twitter feed that bothers me most is, from the day after the bombing

16 Apr
So then I says to him, I says, relax bro my beard is not loaded

I wonder if this is about when he set the bomb down next to Jeff Bauman, (the man who ID'd suspect 2) or somebody else in the area who was curious

The other one Tamerlin(?) was the one with sunglasses.. the one with the black hat.

The one that is still alive and had the twitter wtih that message is the one with the white hat.. jakar white hat didn't have sunglasses.

So the question is still: WHY? I haven't found any online manifesto.

Also, why were they at MIT last night? Were they going there to plant more bombs since I read that they were throwing bombs out of their windows. The older brother was taking an engineer program at some point, IIRC. Maybe he was angry with the educational institutions for some reason. It seems to me that he was lying to his parents back home about the courses he was taking i.e. medical school.

Exactly! There has to be a why?

Mechanic talking, saying perp was nervous, thought he might be on drugs, had nice shoes, he asked perp. Perp said paid $900 for Louie Vetan (sorry don't know spelling). Perp biting nails. Lived right across street, knew him well. 2007 Mercedes station wagon

(Somebody had or was making some money)

Germany has some health treatments for cancer victims not available in the USA (experimental). One of our neighbors sent their dad over for this when the situation was desperate.

Also, article I noted above said this:

Agreed. Even though people like to think we have the best health system in the world, it's not close to the truth. Those who have bad (or rare) conditions, it is often better, easier and cheaper to get help elsewhere.

I don't know what the german connection could be - unless his dad was using someone else's personal identification to seek medical help. I've lived in Berlin and personally I'd NEVER want any German medical help (they aren't too keen on pain meds) if I could get around it. I agree it makes no sense but there's probably nothing really to it. Germany is by no means a threat, nor is Russia. I asked someone who does a lot of Cancer charities and fundraisers for people all over the world if Germany has some sorta research going on or better care concerning brain cancer, she said "not that I'm aware of". for psychotherapy they are very astute so .. given that it's brain cancer (and if you've known anyone who had cancer that spread to the brain... it's pretty sad stuff) maybe he went due to the neurology aspect? Or maybe he has family that are cancer specialists or Dr's working there?

RE the driving: It's starting to sound like the 19 yr old brother didn't know how to drive well, i.e inexperienced. Not too uncommon in large cities to never learn how to drive. My oldest hasn't driven a car yet - because we rely on drivers, taxi's, trains etc. Someone with little driving experience and in fight or flight mode would be hazardous on the road and not last too long. More so because they wouldn't know streets and back ways. I don't think he's out of Boston, roads were shut down almost immediately. There's high crime areas and mafia ran sects that he could have fled too but I don't think he has survival skills, so I can't see him hiding long. Eventually he's going to have to come out.

CNN: Mother on the phone. Mother in denial.

I think 99% of the population would also be in denial.
RT is speaking out saying he believes they would do something like that and he is ashamed.. but he didn't have much contact.. not nearly as close to his nephews as their mom is.

I'm sorry but your disdain should be directed at the hundreds of people who are claiming everything that happened this week was staged, those people even claimed Monday night that the bombing would be pinned on 2 younger men.. Those people are the ones insulting this country.
At least the Mother and father here have a reason to want it to be a set up.

And I will not apologize for my empathy ever-
I am in no way excusing these young men's actions- just mourning along with their family for the little boys they once were and the men they SHOULD have become.

But some here claimed he suffered hardships and such.

These do not sound like hardships to me! I'll never have these, but I don't want them either.

My own opinion: based on what I read, it seems that he was an avid boxer. There was mention in some articles that he wanted a US passport and to become a naturalized citizen and could then compete on the US olympic team in boxing. Not sure what happened with all of those goals, but an Olympic dream is pretty far-fetched, unless he really was that good.

I have a feeling he's harboring a lot of anger, maybe b/c he couldn't get US citizenship yet, or because of his family's financial situation vs friends or others that he perceived as living 'the American dream'.

I think many people outside of America hear about the opportunity here (that elusive dream) and think they can have it all once they get here. Then they get here and realize that most of them will be starting out at the bottom of the totem pole as well as competing with US citizens for those same jobs, etc. It's not as easy as it sounds.

I realize I'm reading a lot into their situation, but it's just the general picture that I get (the dad not speaking English and earning $10/hr, the mom shoplifting, the Mercedes, the tales of being a medical student, the mom returning to Russia, etc.).
