At one point this week, soon after the brothers were identified, it was shown on television where TT's wife and child were getting into a black SUV with authorities around her - protective, escorting mode. The newscaster said they were picking her up at "their" home. She was carrying the daughter.

Sorry, I do not have a link to this.

I read the parents also put the home up for sale the day he died. The father is a doctor and the mother is a nurse. Sad they feel they have to leave there home. I hope the media leaves her alone till she is ready to speak.

Teenagers do not respond with pen and paper. Give him an iPad! If he cannot talk, but is conscious and alert, give him a tech device.

Are there any stories about what happened to Lingzi? I saw some of the EMTs talked about the other two victims and they didn't suffer, but nothing about the graduate student victim and her friends and what happened to them at the scene. Thanks.

Of our population. We in Ma provide educational opportunities to many without regard to nationality, immigration status etc. We are not overly concerned with our tax dollars when going to education. I, for example, live in a small town in Western Ma with the #1 liberal arts schoo in the country. The large % of our educational opportunities end up assistiyng those people who contribute much. We focus on the big picture.

Have you heard of any scholarship money besides the $2,500?
That may buy his books and a little food.

And she didn't KILL anybody! She is a victim. I'm not concerned where her money came from.

I have heard it can take 6 months to a year so...

it is odd too iron8ic for me.:moo:

Either they were disorganized and hadn't thought farther than the initial bombing (unlikely, IMO) or they were gearing up for a second act.

I think considering what happened Thursday night it was the latter. IMO.

See if I can do this without confusing myself and everyone on the board...lol

I agree, I think they were geared up for something else. More explosives plus another pressure cooker bomb but being ID'd so quicklythey had to make changes

The staying in town acting like nothing was wrong sticks out to me. Seems they were going to play that role and have a follow up attack but the quick ID changed everything

To start with they had a two day head start, no one knew who they were and they had number 1's car to use, they could have been in Canada or someplace off the map in that time. But they stayed.

Their problems started when they were ID'd too quick, suddenly they didn't have time to execute the next step and they have to move now. "holy crap our pictures are on TV"

So they jack a car they told the Mercedes owner who they were, and let him go, they wanted him to tell the police who jacked his car. So far they've killed or killed everyone they've come in contact with and will try to kill everyone they meet in the next few hours. But not the Mercedes owner. My thinking is the second car was going to be used as misdirection by jacking it and leaving it on the outskirts of town then heading in another direction. Double back or something

Then they were trapped driving the two cars (after being tracked by the cars owners cell phone that was left inside) and everything went sideways for them from there. As good as they were with planing when they had time they sucked at thinking on the fly...lol

I also think it's certain these two did not act alone. The one guy was unemployed for a long time yet he provided for himself and his family? The college kid was said to have been seen in $900 brand new shoes the day after the bombing, like his brother paid him for the job (but since he was unemployed, he must have been paid by someone else too).

Sounds like they were part of a larger cell...we know these two planted the bombs but maybe they did not trigger them? Maybe there were other(s) in the crowd who triggered the devices.

Who built the bombs? Not a dumb boxer and a 19 year old pothead. Someone else built them for sure.

Ven, I've been trying to follow the victims too.

I did see this the other day:

Death of Only Child Lu Lingzi Shattered Parents' Dreams

Boston University graduate student Lu Lingzi, the third victim to die in the marathon bombings, was the embodiment of her parents' highest hopes, a daughter born under China's one-child policy.

The last I read was that her friend a fellow student was in a coma and that her Mother was trying to get funds together to travel to the USA to see her.

I read that the 3rd student with her was unharmed.

Of various ethnicities and how accepting we tend to be of diversity. These were boys who went to a prestigious high school and who had the opportunity to take advantage of what we offer students. More that I don't "get" the resentment. It's not like people in Cambridge don't have an ability to open their hearts and minds-sort of like I can't imagine a better place to assimilate..

I don't understand your point. Are you disputing the claim that they were resentful?

I wouldn't think he had any injuries that affected his airway/larynx, since he would probably not have been able to survive. If he had injuries that caused swelling and required a tracheotomy he will eventually be able to use a device that will enable him to talk. Thinking further, it is possible that he has nerve injury that will not allow him to talk. Wish they would give us just a little more info. Nursebeeme, what are your thoughts on this?

CNN reports tonight say he has head, throat, and hand injuries. He is
intubated with several tubes down his throat to assist in breathing and fluid
removal from his lungs. He is heavily sedated. He couldn't talk if he wanted to

Yeah here I have some info for you too. Her parents were said to leave China on Friday night to travel to Boston, they had already been granted visas. She was with two friends, one was named and grievously injured still in hospital. Not 100% sure but I think she was doing better a little bit at a time. The other friend was not injured. Just what I read a few days ago.

But I haven't heard anything about which bomb site they were at, if they were walking by or standing in the crowd. Did any responders try to help them or did she pass away right away. Things like that.

I haven't even seen if her friend is out of critical condition yet.

It's not hard to build pressure cooker bomb. Older brother was studying engineering at some point. I don't doubt he was perfectly capable of making a pressure cooker bomb.

Can someone read the reply from September 16th here?

Is that seriously weird or is it me?

Actually I read through all of the comments and I'm even more convinced that these young men were not killed because of a drug deal gone wrong - someone on there making comments sure wanted it to look like that though... I really hope LE looks at this very closely again in light of everything that's happened recently. JMO~
