Last year @J_tsar also tweeted about the Boston Marathon. "@therealAbdul_ boston marathon isn't a good place to smoke tho," he tweeted on Aug. 10, 2012. He also tweeted on Jan. 19, 2013: "To be honest, I don't care for those people that wanna commit suicide, your life b, do what you think will make you happy #selfishbasxxxxx."

Has name of younger brothers twitter account, incase it hasn't already been posted. He posted even after the bombings.

Uhhh....so it appears "a good place to smoke" is a common reference to setting off bombs in a crowd?

Am I interpreting that right? Sheesh....I feel so totally uncool and out of it, I thought "smoking" referred to lighting up a joint.

Who is "therealAbdul" and why was the kid telling him it was NOT a good place to smoke?

For Boston bombing suspects, question may be who led whom

By Allen G. Breed, Eric Tucker and Jeff Donn
Associated Press

Boston — Tamerlan Tsarnaev ranted at a neighbor about Islam and the United States. His younger brother, Dzhokhar, relished debating people on religion, "then crushing their beliefs with facts."

The older brother sought individual glory in the boxing ring, while the younger excelled as part of a team. Tamerlan "swaggered" through the family home like a "man-of-the-house type," one visitor recalls, while Dzhokhar seemed "very respectful and very obedient" to his mother.

The brothers, now forever linked in the Boston Marathon bombing tragedy, in some ways seemed as different as siblings could be. But whatever drove them to allegedly set off two pressure-cooker bombs, their uncle is certain Dzhokhar was not the one pulling the strings.

"He's not been understanding anything. He's a 19-year-old boy," Ruslan Tsarni said of his brother's youngest child, who is clinging to life in a Boston hospital after a gunbattle with police. "He's been absolutely wasted by his older brother. I mean, he used him. He used him for whatever he's done. For what we see they've done. OK?"...

Wondering the same, as you can see a womans sandal and a white flat with a bow amoungst the "stuff".

I noticed the sandal too, but see no other evidence of woman or child there. If a child was there, there would be plenty of stuff, if a woman, what married women, much less muslim, would let all that crap lay around, especially if a little one were present.

It is definitely a smoking reference. Pot smokers refer all the time as to whether a place is ok to smoke at or not.

No link, just personal experience lol.

His wife wasn't a muslim. She converted.

I know, don't know who to believe when all you get is words, if you know what I mean.

JT and TT mom does have a valid aesthetician- sp license in Cambridge fwiw

According to the girl who went to her home for facials, she used to work in a salon as an aesthetician, then started to work at home.
Can an aesthetician even legally work from home?

If she converted to Islam, then she is a Muslim.

What am I missing?

Since she was an adult when converted, I am not sure you can assume anything of just how proper a muslim wife she is going to be.

Yes, this was ecoed by the woman that got facials at the Mom's house for years. The younger brother would run out and place the parking pass on her car when she visited.

He did what he was told apparently.

His wife wasn't a muslim. She converted.

So if you "convert to Christianity" you aren't a Christian?

And Muslims prefer the word "reverted" because they believe everyone is born knowing God i.e. Muslim and some then stray (everyone as in animals, the jinn, humans, etc...).

I nearly reverted a few years though I would have been a Quranist and not practiced the ultra strict mainstream branches.

You are confusing culture and religion. How a "proper Muslim" acts is going to differ widely, depending on the culture you are talking about. Islam as practiced in, say, Saudi Arabia is going to be far different than Islam as practiced in, say, Kosovo. :twocents:

In GA you can not sure about MN

Federal investigators are hurrying to review a visit that one of the suspected bombers made to Chechnya and Dagestan, predominantly Muslim republics in the north Caucasus region of Russia. Both have active militant separatist movements. Members of Congress expressed concern about the F.B.I.’s handling of a request from Russia before the trip to examine the man’s possible links to extremist groups in the region.

snip
The significance of the trip was magnified late Friday when the F.B.I. disclosed in a statement that in 2011 “a foreign government” — now acknowledged by officials to be Russia — asked for information about Tamerlan. The request was “based on information that he was a follower of radical Islam and a strong believer, and that he had changed drastically since 2010 as he prepared to leave the United States for travel to the country’s region to join unspecified underground groups.”

The senior law enforcement official said the Russians feared he could be a risk, and “they had something on him and were concerned about him, and him traveling to their region.” Chechen extremists pose a greater threat to Russia than they do to the United States, counterterrorism specialists say, though some of the groups have had ties to Al Qaeda.

But the F.B.I. never followed up on Tamerlan once he returned, a senior law enforcement official acknowledged on Saturday, adding that its investigation did not turn up anything and it did not have the legal authority to keep tabs on him. Investigators are now scrambling to review that trip, and learn about any extremists who might have influenced, trained or directed Tamerlan while he was there.

I heard on CBC News (will try to find linkage for video) that the bank card they used was not theirs but taken from the owner of the SUV.

In regards to the white cap, no hiding himself scenario, I think that they just didn't think. The way this week went down hasn't happened before. Pictures from cameras going up to be shared, social media paired with the old school security footage nailed these two. There was no way for them to anticipate the multiple photos catching them, IMO. This week changed the way crimes will be played out and fleshed out in the future. We saw the pros and cons of the social media this week from innocent men having their photos smeared and analyzed to the real culprits having their moves photo documented. Welcome to the 21st Century!!
I'm inclined to agree. On the other hand, a great deal of thinking went into manufacturing the explosives, planting them, and setting them up to detonate. And they are/were young men of the 21st century. We know the younger one was a regular user of social media. He understood its power, and used it when he tweeted the image of the "Terrorista" license plate. How could they not "think" that their images would be cast all over the globe? TT had been already questioned by the FBI. He was well aware they had him in their sites. How could he not "think" he'd be caught. Were they really just that foolish?

Another question that's stuck in my craw: what was the purpose of the marathon bombing? Was it intended to send a message? I suspect it was, but can anyone define it? I can't. No declaration. No manifesto. So they screwed up there, too, and I'm even more sickened by the senselessness of it all. Innocent people murdered and maimed, and for what? Absolutely nothing.

What is the purpose of any terrorist act?

So the apartment had plates of "half eaten food". Did they stop in the middle of dinner and decide to rob a 7-11? Didn't someone say the younger brother went to an ATM and got cash at some point?

Why go rob a c-store? They have camera systems and such.

I think they saw the photos of them shown by the fbi while eating, then went and panicked
