GUILTY Thailand - David Miller, 24, & Hannah Witheridge, 23, Koh Tao, 15 Sep 2014

DNA Solves
DNA Solves
DNA Solves
The police did speak to Sean about the blood on the guitar and they were satisfied with his reason for it being there (I read it was from an injury he had earlier). It's 5am here and I'll try and find the link when I've had some sleep. If Sean was involved then the police wouldn't have any reason to hide that fact. Actually, we know it would have been better for the police if it were a tourist who had committed the murders.

The DNA taken from Hannah was found not to belong to Sean. I wonder if police

I'd suggest that the fact that Sean DIDN'T clean the blood off his guitar is more a sign that he wasn't involved in the crime. Afterall, wouldn't that be the first thing you did, get rid of any evidence? You wouldn't carry the guitar around with you and to a recorded interview as well. Assuming he was thinking logically of course. He'd only need a cloth with some soap on to get it off (well the appearence of blood off it anyway).

In response to those who ask; ...but the two different semen found in Hanna was both asian DNA.

Here is a possible scenario that might implicate Sean even though the two rapists was asian, it is post #654 by poster nicknamed JOC:

"David and Hannah on their way to their lovenest walk past 3 people on the beach singing and playing guitar. Those 3 people are Sean and the two younger relatives of the barowner, who in their drunk/drugged state of mind decide to have some "fun". Follows the young couple, a fuse blows in Seans head and he attacks David with a hoe and finish him off by dragging him into the sea and drown him.
In the meantime Hannah is raped by the two Thais, who after they are finished kill her.
That would explain the chase of Sean the following night, because the two local killers (and their families) didn't trust a western druggie to be able to keep his mouth shut. So they were telling him to leave the island immidiately or else........
I don't beleve for one second, that Sean is not involved!

But is there any evidence that Sean was playing the guitar on the beach with the 2 young Thais? Or is that pure speculation. I imagine that LE already has a good idea of where Sean was. And if he had been right there on the beach at the same time of the killing, would he have been cleared so quickly?

I'm not buying any of the story that 3 people were playing guitars on the beach next to the crime scene or the one about Sean asking Mon's employee to wash any blood of his face and body.
That whole story came about a full week after the murders and was part of the framing process that Mon had concocted after chasing Sean that night he had his picture taken and posted on Seans FB.

I read somewhere last night that the RTP had seized 3 guitars from a Burmese location yesterday and that one of the guitars had been 'hidden. Laughable.

This whole investigation has been corrupt from the very beginning. All the Thai authorities seem to be interested in is protecting their mafia meal ticket and their tourism money. Sickening.

The police state they're looking for three people, the two rapists and another person who witnessed or participated in the murders.
I wonder on what basis they believe that a third person was involved. Could they still be basing this on the footprints found at the crime scene?! The crime scene which wasn't secured and had people trampling all over it?

Above video around the 5 minute mark. :gaah:

This is the guy offering 1 million baht to prove his family have nothing to do with the murder.
These people are unreal.

"Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul said she had approached hotels over the idea of handing out wristbands to help identify tourists that get lost or into trouble.

"When tourists check-in to a hotel they will be given a wristband with a serial number that matches their I.D. and shows the contact details of the resort they are staying in so that if they're out partying late and, for example, get drunk or lost, they can be easily assisted," Kobkarn told Reuters.

"The next step would be some sort of electronic tracking device but this has not yet been discussed in detail."

Pornprasit said the police detained him on Monday 1.30pm. During the interrogation, the police investigators persuaded him to agree to pretend to have knowledge of the incident, Pornprasit said. The police allegedly offered him 700,000 baht (about 21,600 USD) reward and guaranteed that he has the witness status. However, since he was not involved with the crime and did not hold knowledge related to it, Pornprasit declined the police’s offer.

The RTP have no intention of arresting the real perp. I believe they know exactly who was involved, but are frightened to go against the powerful family on that island.

Makes me wonder what kind of information they are holding on Western politicians, namely UK ones, seeing as the UK embassy is sitting back watching this charade and circus of an investigation and doing nothing to pressure them for results. :moo:

I totally agree Jelly, it is so obviously a cover up (MOO), will the new government put their foot down on this one ?

I would hope that the UK embassy are keeping a close eye on this, but I would imagine that tact is required, things work differently in that part of the world. Many UK nationals are killed/die/murdered in Thailand every year, although of course many people go there and have a wonderful time also, but interaction with the police should be avoided.

"The statement, from Sue, Ian and Michael Miller, said: "Our hearts go out to the Witheridge family who are also coming to terms with the sudden trauma of the equally senseless ending of their Hannah's life.

"Our thoughts are also with the Ware family and any other innocents that have been hurt by harassment and wrongful accusation.

"We have been overwhelmed by the breadth and depth of support provided to us by so many here in Jersey and also by people far away.

"We were also particularly touched by the vigil and prayers held by good people on Koh Tao."

It's so touching that David's family have been thinking not only of Hannah's family, but also of David's friends and all of the innocent people who have suffered due to what happened. I'm glad that they know about the local people of Koh Tao praying for David and Hannah. I just wish that all the support they've had included the police investigating the murders and local people actually telling what they know.

http://news.sky.com/story/1344688/thai-murders-british-backpacker-was-raped

"A British backpacker in Thailand was raped by both her killers before she was murdered, police have said.

They believe three people were involved in the attacks on 23-year-old Hannah Witheridge and David Miller, 24, whose semi-naked bodies were found on a beach on the island of Koh Tao earlier this month.

Lieutenant General Panya Mamen told the Bangkok Post: "Two of the suspects raped and killed Witheridge while another one witnessed the murder.

"We're confident we have a very high chance of finding the suspects."

So, 2 lots of DNA on Hannah, and 2 lots on the cigarette with 1 a mutual match? Do we think?

So, 2 lots of DNA on Hannah, and 2 lots on the cigarette with 1 a mutual match? Do we think?

The DNA from two different men was found on Hannah, and one of the men's DNA was also found on the cigarette along with Hannah's DNA (so as you said, I just wanted to clarify Hannah's DNA was the second of the two found DNA sets found on the cigarette).

Hannah could have been smoking a cigarette and the killer asks her for a cigarette. It may have been her last one and she just gave it to him then was attacked shortly after. Many criminals have used this ruse, do you have a cigarette, or a light, ect. before striking.

Asking for a cig is also a commonly used conversation starter. It seems to be totally unplanned crime, so maybe the perp 1, seeing Hannah, attractive girl, just wanted to flirt a bit and initiated the talk asking for the cigarette. And then, somehow, the innocent chit-chat turned into a violent assault.

I believe the answer to this murder is in understanding the nefarious activities/trade that is associated with this country. There are many "tours" set up specifically for various activities that are illegal in the US and in most places. I am not suggesting that these victims were actively involved in any such activities, but may have either been mistaken to be, or around it in some manner. I could see the locals taking murderous action if they felt one of their own had been unwilling in any activities, or harmed.

THIS IS PURE SPECULATION ONLY. Just a theory, but perhaps one to consider. Again, I am not suggesting the victims were nefarious characters, but might have somehow been around troublesome activity.

More extremely dodgy goings on in The Land of the Smiles.

This guy doesn't seem like a shrinking violet, so it will be interesting to see how all this pans out considering "If I end up dead with a bullet in my head, It was not suicide!"

Hannah's DNA could have got on the cigg. from one of the perps putting it there after contact with her.
