Now I hope that the community will come together and help the rice field farmers whose land was devastated. If this area is dirt poor, that was their bread and butter. Especially the lady who must do it alone. I am not well, but I know if I was there my sons would be out in her field working alongside her to restore her crops. I pray for her and the other farmers that they prosper.

Some reports boys are being drugged to make this journey. To be clear, Thai PM was clear today the children were not given anaesthetic: "Who the hell would give that to a kid?" He says they were given "something to make them to make them not too nervous and panic" #thamluangcave

Scary and dicey! Many posts have been made here from those in medical and the dive world that have debated the pros and cons of drugging the kids. I have no idea what it what at this point. Great points were made on all sides. I feel that just because an Australian anesthesiologist was on that elite cave dive team, it doesn't mean he had to knock the kids out. He's a practicing M.D., and that is why he was brought in. He's overall an M.D. who was able to make that dive, medical specialty aside. How many other elite cave divers can boast a medical degree? (To be fair, if ever had to cave dive, I'd beg that guy to just knock me out. I am a world-class coward. )

There are so few elite cave divers in this world you can probably count them on fingers and toes, with a few slots left open.

I am a strong swimmer and I dive. I also hike the wilderness and explore caves. But ...But...But....Cave diving, not a chance on God's green earth. I cannot imagine there would be a sedative strong enough for me, and I can swim good. Miracle...yup
