It's funny (not in a good way) that the specialists in psychology are saying don't leave them in there, the specialists in diving are saying don't let them dive. Probably drillers are saying something about not waiting to drill due to difficulties and time needed for that option.

How are the decision-makers supposed to decide when the experts in each area are all saying "don't choose this option"?

Do the boys themselves have any say in what will be done? They must be so impatient if not desperate to get out. My guess is they feel, get me outta here already, I'll take the risk!
MOO- Pure Speculation-
If I read between the lines, I'm guessing that the diving instructions did not go as well as hoped. Maybe (?) none of the
boys or coach were able to handle the intro to diving in a calm
and collected manner. Remember NONE of them can swim,
so it's likely they just weren't comfortable doing the necessary
exercises to master the full face mask, being underwater in poor
visibility, etc. this may be why we haven't heard much about
any success at learning this.

@Bravo, so sorry to hear about your friend.
Thank You. We have known Tewey (Rob) since high school. He was the nicest guy. We are devastated but life goes on right.....We will miss him on the golf course. I mentored his Son who came in to my Agency. He will be sorely missed. Again I thank you. I am melancholy today. It's all good.

Really sorry to hear about this, Bravo. sending soft hugs your way.

Glad to have you here with us, though this one is really hard.

Thank You so much to all who have expressed our recent loss. I finally let the flood gates open. I am crying as I type and that's a good thing. Strong for others right prior. Having said that as I move on from my moment for some reason today as I spent 3 hrs. swimming in our oppressive heat back to my lifeguard days how many lives did I save. Maybe 3? Nothing compared to a Navy Seal. In a light hearted moment my first pool assigned was in East end of my City. I thought I would die there. Was threatened with broken pop bottles etc. etc. As I say it's all good. I have had a very small window and I mean very small window to do CPR and save a life.

Boys trapped underground include Chanin Wiboonrungrueng, 11, the youngest in the squad, and left-winger Adul Sam-on, 14, whose English skills have earned him admiration at home
More at link.

It breaks my heart reading about each boy. Praying.

The good news is that it’s mostly sunny right now. And the forecast for the rest of the day shows mostly clear until a 30% chance of rain at 6:00 PM and a 70% chance of rain at 7:00. We shall see if this actually happens. Hoping whatever new equipment they get will be right away and will help considerably.
