The Blue Barrel in the Bedroom? #1

Is the barrel supposed to have been made out of steel, littledeer? This looks plastic. Don't know about the lid. The pool we had didn't require that much chlorine! lol

There's probably steel containers out there too. This one happened to be blue, so I posted it just to give us an idea of what they *might* be talking about.

Just looking at the Rubbermaid site, and I don't see any blue barrels there. That doesn't mean there aren't any, but I couldn't find any "barrels".

From what I have been reading, the container was a large plastic barrel, 35-55 gal. Some have said Rubbermaid, but I wonder if they aren't saying Rubbermaid as a general name, like if you say you are drinking a Coke- but are actually drinking Pepsi.

The barrel I have does not have a top you can take off, they are made to hold liquids and to be pumped out of the holes so the barrels are one piece. However, the barrel can easily be cut with a power saw. So whether the lid was one piece or could be popped off really doesn't pose a problem.

In addition to the missing blue barrel that police have told the family they're looking for, sources say scuba diving weights are also missing from Drew's house. That may have led investigators to search numerous ponds, including one near Clow Airfield where sources say cadaver dogs hit on something.

Sources say the dogs also hit on something in an upstairs bedroom of the Peterson house -- the same bedroom where sources say a nightstand is believed to have turned up missing. That's led investigators to question recent visitors to the Peterson home about what furniture they recalled seeing in that room.

So now we're hearing that items are missing from the home. Weights and a nightstand from the bedroom.

Scuba diving weights: to help weight the barrel?
Nightstand: During a struggle, Stacy's head hit the nightstand and Drew P feared that DNA would be left on the nightstand? If there was carving on the nightstand, Drew P might have feared blood evidence being lodged in the crevices that he might miss. Just my own personal theory.

That's what I'm thinking too....I've been trying to find a pic of the inside of the garage but so far no stills. The few shots I've seen show a rather full area but they aren't full shots. Both cars were towed from the driveway and I'm wondering if there is even room for a vehicle in the garage. If not then that could be why the barrel was loaded into the Denali in sight of a neighbor rather than under the cover of the garage.

The time that Drew P said something to the media about crossing media and pigs, wasn't the SUV pulled into the garage or at least partially into the garage?

Ok, Mysticchic has been asking what effect chlorine would have on a body if it was dumped on it. Would it dissolve the body like an acid would?

No, chloride and chlorine, an ion of chloride, do not have those properties.

I guess everyone knows that DP is a certified scuba diver already, right?
I just found out today.

Does anyone remember when Drew asked a neighbor if he could park a car in her garage and she said no, but that he could park the car in the driveway? When did he ask this. Was that neighbor Sharon? Which car? And why did Drew want to park a car in her garage?

Another thought about the barrel. A heavy blue rubbermaid container was moved from an upstairs bedroom. It had to have been empty to get it up the stairs. I don't think Stacy was put into the barrel with chlorine. I'm sure the chlorine was dumped.

That garage is fully loaded, Chico. That was confirmed during an interview with Stacy's step sister, Kerry. She said there was no room in the garage for a vehicle because there was too much stuff in there.

This may have been aired on Greta last night (which seemed to be numerous interviews with people pieced together to form a recap type of segment).

I heard earlier in the week or read it that the garage was full of alot of stuff and the vehicles could not be put in the garage because of all the stuff. Makes since that someone would see the barrel being put in the back of a van that is backed part way in the garage doorway.

Especially if that person was looking down on the Peterson property out their second floor window. I used to see all kinds of things from upstairs at my parents home that I never would have seen if I had been looking out their ground floor window.

I also recall seeing on TV Drew trying to be funny with the media and seeing his garage door open and there was a lot of stuff in the garage.

IF this has been asked before, forgive me, but were search dogs used when the P. house was searched?

Cadaver dogs were used. They made a hit on an upstairs bedroom and one of the cars.

As I recall it, it was Sharon that he asked. But, he asked her if SHE would get in the car and park it in her garage. She did say, no, she wouldn't do that but that HE could park it in her driveway.
It was very early on that this occured, maybe just before the first search warrant.
My opinion, he wanted Sharon to get in the car to disturb any possible DNA, fingerprints, etc. Just like he wanted Steve Carserano and Mary to go into Kathleen's house.

Thanks, Sharon must have been thinking...park your own dang cars. lol.

Mysteriew, the only reason I mentioned the lid not "popping" off was that it wouldn't seem like you could hide a person in there and subsequently dump it in water. I also think people are throwing "rubbermaid" around just so we can have an idea what it might have looked like.

I don't get DP buying that much chlorine though, if that's true what Stacy said about the barrel in the garage. First of all, shouldn't the pool have been cleaned up for winter a lot earlier than 2 weeks ago? Secondly, that's too much chlorine anyway for a pool that size!

I didn't think about it until you mentioned the lid. It would be easy to cut off the top, but I don't know how you could put it back on and get it to stay.

Good point about the time of year. Why would you buy chlorine when you were closing up the pool, and would have to store it all winter?

With the terrorism laws these days, you'd have to wonder if someone off the street could even buy that much chlorine. I don't think I've ever seen a pool guy hauling that much around.
