Judge summing up evidence re. #badenclay facial injuries. Defence calls them shaving cuts, prosecution says fingernail scratches @tennewsqld

Why does the judge have to rehash all the evidence???

To ensure he complies with the Rules of the Supreme Court?

I am doing a GBC:facepalm:(God help me), I just want to jump the gun- by pass the judges summation and bring on the jury verdict! I hope it is swift and brings justice for Allison and her family.

Judge is now discussing evidence of Dr Robert Hoskins, who said marks had characteristics of fingernail scratches. #badenclay

I think the scratches will be his undoing, and Allison secured her own justice.

Kate Kyriacou @KateKyriacou · 9s

Judge said Dr Hoskins said it was "extremely implausible" they were done with a razor. #badenclay

Judge is now referring to evidence from Dr Leslie Griffiths, who examined Gerard in person. #badenclay

Judge says Dr Griffiths said it was highly implausible the marks were caused by a razor. #badenclay

Judge is now talking about evidence of Dr David Wells, who said the first thing that came to mind was fingernail scratches. #badenclay

I have been following on and off today as am at a friends house and trying to be social. Have to share that I am sitting under a tree and a caterpillar just fell on my neck. I am taking it as a sign!

Are you sure it was a caterpillar? Or was that just because everyone else suggested it might have been a caterpillar? Did you actually see the caterpillar? It could have been a spider. Or the tell-tale signs of a struggle. No, it was probably a caterpillar. Lock in c) Your Honour - caterpillar.

As for the scratches. It could have been from pruning branches. Or an overzealous Magpie. Or an unscheduled, reverse-order sh-sh-sh morning routine? Yeah, let's run with that!

Wow. This "plausible stuff" writes itself...

essa Scott ‏@TessaScott9 37s

Justice Byrne is now speaking about evidence relating to loans #badenclay got from friends. @9NewsBrisbane

Why are they NOT sequestering them ?

The jury? The legislation doesn't require it anymore. It cost a lot of money and jury tampering still occurred and was actually easier because they were all in one place.

Judge is now summarising evidence of Gerard's three friends who lent him money. #badenclay

Judge says none had been repaid by April, 2012. #badenclay

Kate Kyriacou @KateKyriacou · 6s

Judge is now referring to evidence of Sue Heath. Says Gerard spoke to her about borrowing money from her friend Dr Flegg. #badenclay

Judge says prosecution contends Gerard lied about the cuts on his face. #badenclay

Judge says the prosecution contends that Gerard lied, both in evidence and when speaking to the police. #badenclay

He should have just said they were scratches after an arguement re Toni, A slept on the couch, then must have been out walking when he woke up, but he raised the alarm early given the fight last night. Ie A was so angry and never normally lashes out etc.

During the trial, jurors were busy taking notes. For the summing up, almost all just listening and watching.

I have a magpie scar for comparison! :)

3:14pm: Justice Byrne has turned his attention to the injuries which appeared on Mr Baden-Clay's face on the morning he reported his wife missing.

He has recalled the evidence from the forensic experts who testified about the scratches at the trial.

* Dr Margaret Stark, a specialist forensic physician, said the "yellowy" injuries on Mr Baden-Clay's face were "typical of fingernail scratches". She examined the

* Dr Robert Hoskins said the "browny, raggedy-edged" abrasions were "characteristic of fingernail scratches". In the opinion of Dr Hoskins it was "extremely implausible" that those injuries were caused by Mr Baden-Clay's razor blade, as he claimed.

Like Dr Stark, Dr Hoskins also found the fingernails on Mrs Baden-Clay's left hand could have caused the scratches on her husband's face.

* Forensic medical examiner Dr Leslie Griffiths said the injuries on Mr Baden-Clay's face resembled "abrasions", not "cuts or nicks" that a razor blade might cause.

* Forensic physician Professor David Wells, who assessed photographs of the scratches on Mr Baden-Clay's face said, "I can't see how a razor blade from that type of razor ... could produce that pattern of injuries."
