JMO but it happened by children not being allowed to be children but forced to be parents of their own siblings, and household slaves.

It's disgusting to me that this family has used reality TV to support their seeming (errr, evident) inability to procreate responsibly....

I am very sad for the baby (babies?) who died...they didn't deserve to be conceived by irresponsible parents...

I shudder at the Quiver and other arrogant/narcissitic sects...you're special and more deserving of survival? Really?

I know this is a controversial topic, so I'll shup now.

The children are not slaves.

They supported their family long before the reality show.

Who said they consider themselves special and more deserving of survival?

I bet the memorial will be shown on TV, just like the Kim Kardashian's wedding. They got to do what they go to do to get those tabloid covers!

I wish we could all be a tad bit respectful at a time like this.

A baby died FGS.

I hope they take this time to have a PRIVATE family moment and not put it on reality tv. Should they choose to broadcast it, that will be quite telling IMHO. There's no need for cameras at a time like this, unless it's for ratings. Michelle & JB should take this time to grieve, away from the public eye. And on that note, I hope I don't read in 6 months that she's preggers again!

JMHO - thanks.

I really hope she closes up shop. I think she should be grateful for the 18 kids she has already and spend some quality time with them now. She was pushing the envelope after trying again after Josie, imo. I hope she sees this as a sign from above that she is done conceiving and can sit back and wait for the grandbabies if she feels the need to hold and cuddle tiny ones. imoo

BBM That is one of the main issues that REALLY makes me mad about this family. Michelle does not raise her own children. She has a baby, and then as soon as she weans it (which is always under one year of age)then passes that baby off for the older girls to RAISE. Those girls are NOT helpers, they are the ones who are doing everything in that house. They take care of the kids, do all the cooking, cleaning, and the majority of the homeschooling, etc. Heck, they even do ALL the packing for the family trips. Michelle does none of it. Michelle has not been involved in the raising of her children for many years. I don't care how many children someone chooses to have, that is their right as a human being. BUT you don't make someone else raise those kids for you, especially not your other children. JMO

IMO I don't think you understand that Mom isn't sitting on the sofa all day doing nothing. She manages, directs, loves, cuddles, puts out fires...well all of the organizing and making sure everything runs smoothly all the while teaching, loving and the the woman has the patience of a saint. Nothing prepares a person for becoming a parent better than some hands on experience. I would rather the older ones pitch in and do their part than have a mother toss her child in daycare for 10 hours a day to be raisied by strangers.

The memorial service for baby Jubilee is today.

Prayers going up for the Duggars on this most difficult day.

RIP sweet baby.

Prayers for the Duggar family today and for baby Jubilee.

I personally love the Duggar family and although I do not choose to live my life the same way they do, I have no problem with what they choose is best for them. I enjoy all the children and think they are lovely. Jessa and Jackson are my favorites. She's so kind-hearted and responsible and he is so ornery (sp?) and fiesty.

R.I.P. Baby Jubilee!

To each their own, but I am surprised by what is currently on TMZ... by the way things look, Jubilee's memorial was a media event. :(

I looked at TMZ and got sick to my stomach.

Highly disturbing.

The article said the pictures were posted by a family member on twitter.
I'm assuming a distant family member. Because iirc none of the Duggars have twitter or FB accounts.

I'm sure that's where TMZ got them.

I see nothing in the article that suggests media event.

JMO

Maybe I'm missing something.

I found the photos a little horrifying, but the family has to live with their decision. In regards to someone (family member) posting the photos, it was bound to happen. If they had a memorial and passed out these photos it had to get out. I just wonder how much TMZ paid for them.

I have no idea why this loss had to be made so public (family decision or otherwise) but if you put a picture of a dead baby (if only the feet) - you're practically shouting from the rooftops "hey media look at THIS".

What - can nothing be private anymore. Couldn't JB and Michelle have kept this private picture - private?

Some may say there's nothing wrong, but I have to ask what's right?

MOO and MOO and MOO.

SOMEONE with a few screws loose had to take the photos of Michelle fondling the miscarried fetus in the first place for them to make it to the Internet.

This is, possibly, the most tasteless thing I have seen a family do in the " name of God".
If the point was to show what a fetus looks like, there are plenty of images on the Internet already and all family planning clinics make women watch videos before abortions now.

I will never again support one thing the Duggars do. I hope this exploitation of a fetal corpse is the last hurrah for them.

If this baby had been carried to term, would the pictures be less gruesome?

I don't get the issues some are having with the pictures. I've been to plenty of memorial services where pictures of the deceased were shown. No one took offense. Perhaps the reason they only took pictures of the feet and hands was because, through the birthing process damage had occurred to the rest of the body (I don't know, just guessing here). Putting those pictures up might be horrifying, I agree.

I find the pictures heartbreaking, because the baby's life has been lost, but don't find them disgusting because they chose to take a picture of a little foot or hand. Those pictures are probably all they will have to remember the baby with; it gives them, as well as the children, closure.

And you all know, I'm no fan of the Duggars and (most) of their ways...but this is how they chose to grieve; no one should take exception to that. We all do it differently; they did what they felt was best for them and their family.

In NO WAY do I feel that this was some type of Pro-Life (of which I am a supporter) propaganda. We all know, though, how the Duggars feel about having babies, though; I guess they could have leaked the pictures to the media themselves, but I'm going to choose to believe that this was a private memorial for family and friends, and sharing the pictures with the world, at this time, was not intentional by them. I hope I am right.

If the child were to be carried to term and be born stillborn, hospital staff have little "rememberance boxes" that they give to parents: a lock of hair, footprints, etc., to give them closure and help them "remember" at the same time. To me, that's what these pictures were to the Duggars.

I'm guessing here that you have had very little, if any, experience with a pregnancy ending in death. Many parents choose to have pictures of their deceased child taken, when their pregnancy does not end in a live birth.

Perhaps what bothers you is the fact that this child was so young, and not a full term infant. I'm sure it bothers the Duggars, even more.
