Pentagon debunks reports claiming US abandoned dozens of military service dogs in Kabul

"The U.S. priority mission was the evacuation of U.S. citizens, SIV, and vulnerable Afghans. However, to correct erroneous reports, the U.S. military did not leave any dogs in cages at Hamid Karzai International Airport, to include the reported 'military working dogs,'" a Defense Department spokesman told the Washington Examiner. "Photos circulating online were animals under the care of the Kabul Small Animal Rescue, not dogs under the care of the U.S. military. Despite an ongoing complicated and dangerous retrograde mission, U.S. forces went to great lengths to assist the Kabul Small Animal Rescue as much as possible."

Pentagon debunks reports claiming US abandoned dozens of military service dogs in Kabul

We ferried out over 100k people. We didn't get all the Americans, the interpreters or the service animals. Why? The Taliban promised safe passage, our leaders worked to secure safe passage, but many are left.

Who did we bring out? How did the 100k get passage and some Americians did not?

So many questions, so much doesn't make sense, I'm so confused. I'm hoping for some understanding soon.

Moo....

The USA did not ferry out over 100,000 people. As of Aug 26, the USA ferried out 4500 people. The UK ferried out 15,000 people, and many other countries evacuated the other tens of thousands. Facts matter, since facts explain why the USA left their people behind.

"Secretary of State Antony Blinken said around 4,500 Americans had been flown out, with diplomats in touch with 500 more.

Boris Johnson confirmed 15,000 people have now left under the Operation Pitting evacuation mission, which began in April."

Afghanistan: How many people have been evacuated by each country?

It is very sad that half truths are presented as facts, as it leads to confusion and questions. If the USA had indeed evacuated more than 100,000 people, the natural question is : how could anyone be left behind? When the number of evacuations is honestly factual (thousands, not 100 thousand), then it's easy to understand that some were left behind.

The article says as of 8/26/21

Sky News looks at the global evacuation efforts:

United States

Number evacuated (approx): 88,000, including 4,500 Americans

Operation ends: 31 August

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said around 4,500 Americans had been flown out, with diplomats in touch with 500 more. The US believes around 1,500 American citizens remain in Afghanistan.

Adding all countries evacuations on 8/26/21 would come to approx. 130,000. Sounds correct to me. Canada pulled out the day of the bombing and have more waiting to be saved. We were flying out the day of the bombing approx. 6400 plus 10 to 12K the following days. The US is not taking credit for the other countries evacs.

This is confusing me, different speaker, different number. Who knows the actual figures?

President Biden said later that there was unanimity among military leaders to end the airlift mission as planned.

He praised U.S. forces for evacuating more than 120,000 Americans and allies. The president said in a statement that he will address the nation Tuesday on his decision not to extend operations beyond then, but that the Joint Chiefs of Staff and all commanders on the ground agreed that ending the military mission was “the best way to protect the lives of our troops, and secure the prospects of civilian departures for those who want to leave Afghanistan in the weeks and months ahead.”

Oh my gosh! All of my dogs are rescue dogs! Can’t imagine those poor abandoned puppers and people deliberately hurting them.
In my previous posts, I was concerned about these dogs. Breaks my heart in pieces.
I have also expressed my fears of lack of food for Afghanistans.
Those concerns are too becoming real.
I don't understand why this well supplied army, walked away,
Such heartbreaking lessons for all of us.

It seems that everything is a mockery for the Taliban. They decided on a white flag, something traditionally understood as a sign of surrender. For the Taliban, the white flag means barbaric values. They held mock funerals and draped flags from the USA, UK and France over body boxes. They say what the West wants to hear about equality for women, and climate change (which is absurd), but they add their own interpretation to those words. They mock the West by repeating the right words, but taking action according to their rules.

Is the USA taking credit for evacuations to UAE and Qatar? If so, why?

"The United States and allies are hurrying to evacuate as many people from Afghanistan as possible before an Aug. 31 deadline. The combined effort has evacuated more than 114,000 people since Aug. 14, the day before the Taliban entered Kabul, the White House has said.
...

Washington has evacuated 5,400 U.S. citizens since Aug. 14, according to the U.S. government.
...

Britain's last military flight left Kabul late on Saturday after evacuating more than 15,000 people
...

The UAE said on Thursday it had helped evacuate 36,500 people to date, including 8,500 coming to the UAE via its national carriers or airports.

Qatar said on Thursday it had helped evacuate more than 40,000 people to Doha and "evacuation efforts will continue in the coming days in consultation with international partners"."

Biden is claiming that he is responsible for all evacuations completed by all countries, although he most likely mis-spoke in claiming that there were 120,000 people from the USA in Afghanistan. I don't think that number has been mentioned by anyone else.

Skip to 30 minutes to hear his remarks. Biden still claiming that the USA alone evacuated 120,000 people. I suppose most people will not question that information. Biden explains that those who were left behind are dual citizenship people who wanted to remain in Afghanistan. He explains that the Taliban made threats that if the USA did not withdraw, Taliban would continue to destabilize the country. He mentions that 100 countries were involved with Afghanistan.

Never thought I'd see censorship in the USA. Of course, I never thought I'd see the USA leave allies or citizens behind either. Interesting times....

Seriously? We, personally see it everyday on various forms of social media and the MSM. It's practically a competitive sport, imo. And that's all I'm gonna say about that. No offense to you intended :)

Did I just sense a hint of blame, towards and regarding the citizens left behind from the POTUS speech? Because it kind of felt that way. I really didn't hear any regret . Was it just me?

Ottawa pins hopes on Kabul airport reopening as hundreds with links to Canada stuck
''OTTAWA -- Ottawa is pinning its hopes on the Kabul airport soon reopening as thousands of people with links to Canada found themselves stranded in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan on Tuesday following the overnight withdrawal of all American soldiers from the country.

Hours after the last U.S. soldier climbed a military aircraft, marking the end of 20 years of Western intervention in Afghanistan, Foreign Affairs Minister Marc Garneau revealed around 1,250 Canadian citizens, permanent residents and family members are believed to have been left behind.

"The main thing that we needed to figure out was how many Canadian nationals or permanent residents and family members were able to get out on some of our allies' flights,
" Garneau said while appearing alongside Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino.''
