I just cannot fathom how Gus Searcy is helping the defense team here.

He's not. Juan is decimating his testimony.

Its fine to speak for Alexander, however in my experience prosecutors and defense attorneys with attitudes do not often sit well with jurors.

hostile witness gets hostile tactics.

I agree, but I don't think the defense can really control the witness. This is why I said I think it's just a witness the defense has to deal with.

-Lol. Martinez is making a fool out of himself.
No, he's not making a fool out of himself...he's doing his job. At this point if his technique is okay with the judge then it's okay with me.

IMHO - I'm afraid he's going to alienate the jury. I would feel uncomfortable about him yelling at the witnesses. Trust me, I don't like the witness, but JM is about to stroke out.

No tomatoes please.

Mel! I wouldn't throw any imaginary tomatoes at you, ever =) I agree with worrying about jury.

Ok, when I'm starting to feel a little sorry for this witness, then I'd say the prosecutor could be having the same effect on the jury.
