Then why did Ron marry her? IF Ron Cummings thought for one minute that this 17 year old girl hurt his child (for even a minute), he probably would not have been able to control his temper. He would have killed her. There is something not quite right with this man.

I do agree that he loved his daughter, but something happened, and he knows what that is.

Misty does too. JMO

I'll agree he has made many goofy moves. I don't know why. I guess he is just not too smart. A lot of people involved in this case have said and done many stupid things. However nothing Ron has done leads me to think he has done anything to his daughter.....or that he even knows what happened to her.

The devil lies in the details. If rc is lying about anything in this case, he is part of the crime.

Debate seems to be about this. Some believe he is a loving and caring father and do not believe he is anything but a grieving father. Some had never said or considered he is lying. They will not see his twisting and double speak. Others listen to him and hear he contradicts and deflects and assume he may be guilty because of this. The marriage to misty is a sword in this story. Logic cannot make sense of this. Top this off with hiring a Criminal Defense Attorney seals the deal for me.

I have a theory if I may
I have not read any of your posts before so I am sorry if this one has been discussed before
The first time I heard the 911 call I felt it was all an act
Misty was worried Ron would cheat on her and felt the need to check up on him
The little girl would not go to sleep so she took her with hoping she would fall asleep in the vehicle
She left the little boy home alone since he was already a sleep
She waited at Ron's work and watched to see where he goes after work or who he talks to
She follows him and he spots her checking up on him or following him
He leads her on a little goose chase then runs her off the road
He pulls over and a big fight breaks out
The little girl wakes up crying and some how she gets killed by Rons temper
He tells Misty to go home and call 911 and report her missing
He places the girl somewhere in the woods known by only him
He goes home and misty is waiting for him to scared to call 911
He pulls up and asks her if she called 911 and she tells him no
He tells her call them and say blah blah blah..... and you know the rest

BBM-me too! And Ron's performance when he was wearing the blue striped shirt right after Haleigh disappeared. Acting-and not a good actor, either, imo.

Good theory, very simple, it has to be simple, these people aren't that smart.

I think LE knows who, what, why, where, when and how but they don't have enough to make a case where a conviction will stick-the State's Attorney is the one who decides when to turn the case over to a grand jury. This may have already happened. Maybe they did not return a true bill to indict. So it's back to work to make a stronger case. I just keep thinking about Drew Peterson-just one day boom, he was arrested. I'm hoping one day soon that will happen in this case. We would not know if the grand jury is meeting to hear evidence on this case like we did in the Caylee case because Casey had already been arrested on lesser charges and we knew some of the things that had been investigated in her case.

Back to your theory-I am unclear if Misty had access to a vehicle that night. It could be that Ron caught her doing something he did not like after his work shift and the same scenario played out that you stated.

There could also be a twist to the story. They are both lying but for different reasons. To this day rc has not spoken out about misty and his suspicions. He didn't glean any info from their nine months together after the fact? For those who believed he married her to keep her close, that is ridiculous, imo. The FBI, FDLE are perfectly capable of finding misty croslin. Then we have those who think he married her to get info...well, that one didn't work either.

The only excuse left now is he is not too bright. This guy is smart enough to not talk to LE when he gets arrested and should be upset and talk but he is wise enough to know EXACTLY what to do. He also was very cunning in the custody case. So that excuse is not going to fly either.

I will maintain he married her to stay out of prison due to his predisposition to know what to do when legal questions arise regarding his behavior.

....On a side note, he didn't talk to LE when Haleigh disappeared that night. He stayed outside, unable to assist LE. I say he was outside waiting for his mommy to arrive to speak for him.

Is there any truth to the story about the PDM employee who saw and heard rc talking on the phone about a discipline problem?

If so, then that is the piece to the puzzle that LE want. There is no way to know what rc told LE except his attorney said there was an argument and as I recall it was not a small one. LE can't do anything with this valuable piece of info though, if rc lies about what he said because it is then a he said - she said thing.

If we looked at every single person in this case we would be able to find a lie that each and every one has told. Ron, Misty, Crystal, Art, Cobra, Kim, ......the list seems never ending.
It makes them a bunch of liers....it does not mean they all had anything to do with the crime that took place that night.

I'll need more then conjecture and speculation before I can belive Ron had anything to o with this.

Every single person in this case does not have a Criminal Defense Attorney protecting them against any lies.

Lying about the facts of the missing child's timeline and place is important and relevant. Misty has done this and rc supported it. It is easy to have conjecture with that fact.

If conjecture is not accepted than the only other thing left for acceptance of rc's involvement/knowledge is a confession or a video of the crime. We will never see or hear such thing, imo, and that is speculation.

There is always the facts of the case. I would accept that he had something to do with it if there were real facts to prove it.
Having an Attorney, does not mean anyone is guilty. He is well within his rights, I don't find fault with that.
Trouble is, you just don't really know what facts LE does or does not know.
Everyone guesses.....then they assemble the conjecture to fit some far-fetched scenario.

I agree about not having facts but we do have some players that are talking in which we can listen and evaluate.

I have witnessed people who have far fetched ideas about a crime (not this one) and have conspiracy theories, etc. Yes, they will spin facts but often that will consist of imagination in there and wild speculation. I have not seen that on this forum with people having an idea that rc could be involved. His behavior causes people to think in that direction. To not go in the direction of misty and or rc requires a lot more blind faith and denial of the more likely culprit.

As far as defense attorneys...it is rare for innocent parent/grandparents to hire a defense attorney to speak for them. To do so also makes them appear like they have something to hide, and IMO, they often do.

There are certain facts in this case which have very little explanation other than self serving intent to misdirect.

(1) It is fact that in the beginning both Ronald Cummings and Misty Croslin repeatedly stated Haleigh was sleeping in the same bed as Misty prior to abruptly changing their story.

(2) It is fact that Misty Croslin told 3 different versions of what Haleigh was wearing when she disappeared on February 9th.

(3) It is fact that despite LE stating no signs of forced entry, Ronald Cummings repeatedly claimed the back door was broken into, even theorizing about the use of a wrecking bar as a means of access.

(4) It is fact that for nine days of constant media statements and interviews, not one person mentioned that GGM Sykes had allegedly visited the trailer around 7:00 pm. It wasn't until the same day LE announced a tip of MC not being at home on February 9th that GGM stated “that’s a crock” and conveniently provided an alibi for Misty.

Where she was sleeping, what she was wearing, how access was gained, and who the last people to see her are all important central elements for LE to be able to effectively investigate Haleigh’s disappearance. The answers shouldn't be complicated and simply required the truth.

Unlike their statements, the truth never changes.

I'm convinced he married her for one main reason, money.
I don't know it, but I think he got paid for the proposal pics, and maybe even advanced some for that morning show exclusive of the wedding pics and video. He was obviously flying high as a kite during that PR stunt where the reward was increased and we all got to see his new truck for the first time. So, in my mind, it was about money, and the truck. That PR stunt from the S.O. was right between the proposal, and the wedding, iirc.

I think LE thought Misty would break easy, being as she just turned 17, but they were wrong, wrong, wrong.

I do think she will crack when they finally charge her with 1st degree murder, then she'll tell them his role in it, but it will likely backfire on her by then, since he has been setting her up from the get go, imho, fwiw.

OMG..Yosande...What a thought! I have to say I am impressed. I know very well that money and ron are bonded at the hip. He LOVES money more than anything. They were paying for the wedding videos too. He had to get a bunch from that. We have not heard if he released Crystal from paying full support for two kids. I bet he didn't. I admit I don't think highly of him so I am bias. I have met many like him before. They are all doing time.

It is my opinion that rc is a true narcissist. He shows it to me almost every time I see him on screen. There is one thing about them and it is the almighty dollar. The only way you can hurt a 'n" is getting some of their money. That will hurt them deeply.

Thank you Papa for the excellent post...#610. You can summarize and explain things so well...so logical!

These are the facts and the reasons some of us think they are both involved in some way or another.

I heard a quote; Some twist the facts to fit the theory, but the Theory should be twisted to fit the facts. I don't remember who said that, but it is how this is to work if you want the truth.

I was thinking that if Misty had help, she wouldn't throw that person under the bus or point to them as doing this, as they could in turn drag her down with them. So if Ron has this alibi of being at work, who did she not throw under the bus that would help her?

I was wondering if NayNay had a solid alibi for that night? Who else would she enlist? It has to be someone with a car, someone who came over, because there is no phone record of her calling the person to come help. So if GGMS left at 7- 7:30 someone could have dropped by. The phone was turned off at 8:30 that means in an hour something could have happened to Haleigh. JR may have been sleeping in his bed, or on the couch, or in the master bedroom. I watched the video of CS talking to him with the reporter and I don't think JR saw anything. I think he was 3 and maybe is upset at Sissy being gone.

So where was NayNay that night? Or was there a guy there we just don't know about yet? A totally unknown person we haven't thought about because his name didn't come up? Maybe from the previous weekend?

She likes Timmy and said Ron did too, and they moved away. Could he have stopped by and found Misty in a tight spot and helped her out? The van belonged to Timmy. We still don't know when that van was driven back to them in Cresent City.

I am having a hard time with placing rc at the scene of the crime, I will admit that. His behavior sends off so many red flags that it appears he must fit in this somehow. R & M are very odd people, to say the least. How he fits in is still a mystery. I have to keep adjusting ideas. The one thing that is clear to me is rc wants to protect himself and keep JR, no matter what costs. This ego/image thing could be an ongoing ritual he has always done. Clearly, he is immature. I believe his frame of reference is JR and custody of him.

It is like it is a game and he has to win at any cost. His motive is to present an image of a normal loving family. That image is difficult for him with the choices he has made. All the talk from day one was about the loving, caring things misty and ron do and how it is "magical". That word always throws me when it is used to describe a relationship. TN boasting of misty w/o any suspicion was of concern for me. I see her as an extremely controlling woman. RC is a controlling man/child. I am guessing they have fought their entire lives. RC has two powerful women laying the law down to him at all times. IMO, he doesn't have too much he can control and takes weaker/damaged/needy (pick a word) girls to have something to control in his life. The children also fill his need for control and I guess that is a big part of why he can't let JR go.

Somehow between his confusing explanations and double speak, he tries to deflect suspicion off of him. His behavior is odd. I see him as paranoid. It would be good to study him more but I doubt we will get that opportunity. He is hiding behind his attorney.

Bern, I also think of Nay and that blue Lincoln. Another that comes to mind is Timmy or Chelsea. Those two have never been mentioned. Nay said that misty asked her to stay with her while she babysat her brother's kids. Of course Nay denies she did. WBG also denies he saw her. If it was just a weekend fling, he admitted that he called her Monday. So I don't think it was simply a fling, he was obviously still interested because he contacted her on Monday. Did Nay bring him over that day?

Whisperer, I respect you but you could not be more wrong: RC only works like the dickens to take himself away from the MH that night; but LE has indicated on the initial police report that the "incident happened outside the home." If we can pin down where in truth, not speculation or assumption, RC was that night, the whole night, it is THEN, and only then that we can say he is distant from the scene of the crime.

So far, all he has really worked hard to do is remove himself from that MH. The sticky problem is, we have very little real evidence to suggest Haleigh ever went back there after she got off the bus.

:(

According to Misty’s father Hank, Misty was living freely doing as she pleased before she met Ron and Hank permitted Misty to marry Ron in the hope marriage would provide her with love and security. However I believe Ron’s sole purpose for Misty never went beyond “getting her into bed” and he treated her no more than a sexual object to have at his disposal. Nothing good came of their marriage and I am convinced it is because there was never a change in Ron’s intention towards her. Ron needed to change his heart towards Misty in order to be compatible with her and it is apparent he didn’t. IMO Misty truly despised Ron for the way he treated her and she conspired with her family to punish him and make him pay for his treatment of her.
