A check of the sunrise records for Memphis note that it's nighttime dark up to 5 am and Astronomical twilight doesn't start until 5:05, so there wouldn't yet be perceptible light in the sky when she was abducted.

From the linked data, it looks like she enjoyed running during twilight.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis police are searching for a woman who went missing early Friday.

Eliza Fletcher, 34, went missing in the early morning hours. Police found her personal items but have not located her.

Her last reported location was on Carr Avenue, near S Willett Street.

Her description is 5 foot, 6 inches tall, 137 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.

The University of Memphis sent an alert to students saying a woman had been kidnapped at about 4:30 a.m. on Central Avenue, near the school’s campus.

Officers were called to the scene around 7 a.m. when Fletcher was reported missing.

Police say the woman frequently jogs in the area and was approached by an unknown person and forced into an SUV.

The suspect was possibly in a dark color SUV traveling westbound on Central Ave.

Police say Fletcher’s phone was found smashed and the phone and her water bottle were found in front of a home on Central Ave.

Friends say the woman they know as Liza is an avid runner and is a mother of two children.

She is also a teacher at St. Mary’s Episcopal School, where she teaches Junior Kindergarten.

Anyone with information about Fletcher’s whereabouts should call 911 immediately.

I want to tip my favorite hat to you, @Unalienable Rights for composing an awesome title for the thread as it includes who, what when and where. This case will be followed intently. The victim's home is gorgeous. I hope the children weren't present when the police arrived.

My daughter was a marathon runner who trained at 5am in Dallas. Even though the group began together, each had their own pace so they'd get separated and arrive at different times back at the lake. She'd run thru some sketchy neighborhoods chasing the elusive invitation to the Boston Marathon. Dallas is as hot or hotter than Memphis and just as humid.

She and her husband moved after Zoe Hastings was kidnapped, at a local drug store while returning a RedBox movie, and murdered. Zoe's van was discovered near their home.

Maybe the husband noticed that the garden sheers had been moved?

If this was premeditated, and the suspect knew her jogging route in advance, then he knew where she lived. It's possible that police are looking for evidence that he was at the house - invited or otherwise.
One thing I
For comparison ...

Hannah Graham was walking down a busy street when a predator spotted that she was alone and a bit drunk. He crossed the street and followed her, putting his arm around her like he was a friend and offered to buy her a drink. He abducted and murdered her ... after buying her a drink at a club.

Molley Tibbetts was jogging her usual route when a farm employee spotted her. He watched her for a couple of weeks, rumours are he even met her once through the mother of his child. He knew her route and waited for her to run along a cornfield before parking his car, grabbing her, tossing her into the trunk, hitting her in the head, and he killed her within an hour of abduction.

It's not about who she is, in my opinion, but entirely about her apparent vulnerability. Someone who was looking for vulnerability saw her, made a plan, and took her.

Naomi Irion also comes to mind. Her morning route was identical every day, stopping for coffee along the same route as the man that murdered her.

Well, Internet offers vulnerability. What is interesting, however, is that Liza asks many recommendations about house improvement on her FB. Memphis being a big city and all, aren't there closed neighborhood Facebook for young moms, with limited traffic? This is how things discussed in my city. Lots can be found about her, she is kind, she likes dogs, she likes movies. Here is your vulnerability.

I posted it and thought - could have Liza been the member of some online female joggers community, open or closed? This is where people might post their routes, times. And this is where a predator could have come.

Recovery? Is one of them a recovering addict and/or alcoholic? Do they owe a debt?
It would seem so. From the link:

"Yesterday marked 7 years married to this beauty!" he wrote. "If you were to ask us at year 3 if we would make it to 7 we probably would of said NO! We apparently weren’t given the memo that a healthy marriage is not going to come easy. Luckily, we put God/Recovery first, we were both willing to believe in each other, and asked for help."

He continued: "We are so thankful for individual counseling, couples counseling, recovery and friends! We can honestly say we wouldn’t have it any other way!"

So... the police were told that a male approached her?

Who told them this?
How did they know this?
Is there actual video of this, or simply verbal testimony?
LE described it as on video at some point earlier, I think the tweet is saying that LE were called by the university that found the items and saw the video. Probably was University Security or Police.

I do not think this has anything to do with her abduction and there is nothing pointing that way so it may be unfair to go down that road without something to go on.JMO.
