Pre-employment screening

If you are selected, we’ll make you an offer to join FirstEnergy. Once you accept, the following pre-employment screenings will be scheduled: a drug screen, a background check and, when applicable, a physical examination. All offers are contingent on successful drug screens and background checks, which typically take about two weeks to complete.

Tennessee shooter failed drug test at Ohio nuclear plant

TOLEDO, Ohio A man who gunned down four Marines in Tennessee and injured a sailor from Ohio briefly worked at a nuclear plant near Cleveland but was let go after failing a drug test.
Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez was conditionally hired as an engineer at the Perry Nuclear Power Plant and spent 10 days there before he was let go, FirstEnergy Corp. spokesman Todd Schneider said. Abdulazeez didn't pass the screening process in May 2013 and "did not meet minimum requirements for ongoing employment," Schneider said.

A federal official briefed on the matter said the issue was a drug test. The company had earlier said that Abdulazeez had failed a background check.

Thanx for sharing SuziQ. It would be interesting to know the drug detected. Imo, it was methamphetamine. I've been researching prolific serial/spree/mass killers and sexual predators for about a decade, and in virtually every case since the 1980s, meth is involved either directly or indirectly. Meth creates psychopathic personalities, imo..

Vanderbilt University researchers found that psychopaths are wired differently. They crave rewards, no matter the cost.

The same reward system in the brain that hooks people to drugs might also explain why some people act like psychopaths.

We know that cold-blooded criminals lack empathy and fear — and are, by societal standards, a bit odd. But new research shows that it is not the traits that psychopaths lack that make them behave badly, it's the traits that they do have. Not only are psychopaths impulsive, they like to take risks and seek out rewards.

So-called psychopathic traits have been linked to a disruption in the dopamine reward circuitry in the brain. And it is this disruption that drives psychopaths to want money, sex, or fame, in extreme ways.

I checked his profile (now suspended) 2 hours after shooting and under this tweet it read 'sent two hours ago'
What local time? With twitter post it reads 'sent 15 minutes ago or 2 hours' ago or 1 day ago' , means just that regardless where you live :East Coast, West Coast or Europe. No need to worry about time difference, 'hour ago' means 'hour ago' everywhere

If tweeter lives in France, time difference is at least 7 hours btw

The tweet was shown as being posted at 12:34 my local time, which is 1:34 in Tennessee. If someone from the west coast posted the tweet it would show at 10:34 am - which is what time that Pamela Geller said it was posted. But that isn't local time. Or someone that doesn't have a twitter account would see it showing at 10:34 am which is the default time for Twitter.

It was not a tweet that was done before the shooting. ISIS took credit for it none the less, after the fact.

And the Pentagon Reporter from Fox News, a very experienced and reliable reporter, discussed that tweet. She surely checked the proper time zones before reporting it on the national news.

LOL! You are putting way more faith in the news than I ever will.

ETA - Exactly what I said above. I found this article when I googled to see if I could find a copy of the actual tweet to post here.

Fox News Wrongly Reports ISIS Tweeted About Chattanooga Before Shooting
Always keep your timezones straight.

Fox News reported Thursday they were taking a “hard look” at a tweet suggesting ISIS had foreknowledge of the deadly shooting in Chattanooga, Tennessee, but it turned out they got the tweet's timing wrong.
<snip>

Twitter converts all time stamps to the time zone settings of a user's account when the user is signed in, but if they are not, all timestamps are in Pacific Time, digital marketer Rob Bettis explained to The Huffington Post.

When viewed with Eastern time zone settings, the tweet in question appears to have been sent at 1:34 p.m., Mediaite noted -- nearly three hours after the shooting, which occurred at around 10:45 a.m. EST.

Foxfire,

I am not sure where the link is for this statement---but I heard on CNN at least twice, about his DUI arrest in April. It was reported that the police report said he smelled of alcohol, pot, AND HE HAD WHITE POWDER ON HIS NOSE.

He said he snorted some crushed up caffeine pills...huh? Wouldn't LE check that? IDK But first thing I thought of was METH.

Despite being a practicing muslim, the engineering graduate turned amateur MMA fighter was seen smirking in an April mugshot after he was pulled over, with his car reportedly smelling of marijuana with white powder around his face.
He told cops he had crushed and snorted caffieine pills and refused to take a blood test. It was later forcefully taken through a warrant.

Report: 5th victim has died following Chattanooga shooting.

PAULDING COUNTY, Ohio (WANE) – One of the victims of the mass shooting at two Chattanooga, Tennessee military centers has died, WWLP’s sister station WANE-TV is reporting. That brings the total number of victims killed to five, and the total number of people dead to six (if the shooter is included).
Darlene Proxmire, the step-grandmother of Randall Smith, called WANE Saturday morning and said he passed away around 4 a.m. He was originally from Paulding, Ohio. He was 24.
Proxmire said Smith had extensive damage to his liver and colon from the shooting. He had a few surgeries at a hospital. He was serving in Chattanooga as a logistics specialist in the U.S. Navy at the time of the shooting.

This is why I feel that the soulless Chattanooga radical jihadist lone wolf was high on meth on that tragic day. As a very powerful stimulant, Methamphetamine causes a person to become very energetic and brazen. While increasing a person's labido, it causes euphoria and the abuser experiences an extreme rush. This is why there a usual meth connection in violent sexual predator crimes, imo. Violent homicides committed by Meth abusers/tweakers, are some of the most heinous and usually involve horrific torture and mutilation, as in the TN Holly Bobo abduction/murder 04/13/2011, imo. The 1980 CA Speed Freak killers are another prime example of the wrath of meth predators. Japanese Kamikaze pilots were given high doses of methamphetamine before carrying out their suicide missions during WWII.

I think that ISIS recruiting propaganda probably did influence him, but they usually take credit for attacks, even when NOT due to their blather! And so far, they have not, in this case. I am curious about what he did in Jordan for 7 mos. His friend said that all he told him was that he was teaching (martial arts? wrestling?) I wonder if he was actually TRAINING ISIS wannabe's. Kids. Have any of his relatives spoken out? JMO........another case of perverted ideology TRUMPING rationality... like the Roof kid in Charleston...

was just about to post…..:tears:

MORE DEAD ?? And another family devastated. :maddening:
Rest gently, Randall. Thank you for your service to this country.
My condolences to your family and especially to your daughters and wife !! :(

These men died doing jobs that help to ensure our freedom. They deserve a funeral with the highest honors possible ; imo. I wish they could be awarded (posthumously) medals --- after all, they died in the line of duty and what difference if they died here or abroad ? They were murdered by an enemy combatant ; again my opinion.

What makes me furious is the protection their killer would have been afforded if he'd lived. A bullet proof vest for his court dates, just for starters.
I understand it's the law ; it just seems backwards at times.

WHERE was the protection for Randall, Skip, David, Carson and Thomas ??? :stormingmad:

Sitting on my hands now.

:moo:

Very well said!! I couldn't agree more!

It's best to just report clearly offensive, racist, and discriminatory posts rather than quote or reply to them, to save the moderators time.

I guess you are right, I didn't mean to cause an issue, just trying to make sense of opinions, that I don't share, and guess messed that up. I respect your posts and have read many of yours on many different cases/topics, Montjoy, assuming you were speaking to me. Again, my thoughts and prayers for all the victims families and friends, a terrible tragedy.

Actually, I had quoted someone else in my post. And I agreed completely with what you wrote -- but any time we quote unabashedly offensive and racist posts, even to disagree with them, we make more work for the mods, down the road.
