I am so hopeful for Hollys family. For those of you who say that you cant imagine this bag could have gone unseen, you cant possibly understand how dense the foliage is here in TN. I could even understand a pink bag going unseen. It is THAT dense, I do now believe that the bag was buried and that it is someone local. That is actually good news that she wasnt taken somewhere far away. A better chance to be found.

How is it even possible for the area within a mile radius of the PLS not to have been searched by professional teams? Mind you, I am putting no blame on the volunteers here, but I just can't even wrap my head around this.

Me either. I would have expected at least a two-mile radius initially and more, during the following two years.

I am watching my local news. They led in by saying this was the first professional search. This is about 1/2 mile behind the Bobo's house. Professionals tell Channel 4 the volunteer searches had gaping holes.

Heavy storms are moving in after midnight tonight. This will further hamper the area for any scent. About 2 hours left of searchable light so hopefully they can get search dogs out there quickly.

I just do not understand. I thought we were told of ongoing searches all this time...didn't we see dogs, etc? And the immediate area had not been cleared?

Wow. How is that possible? First professional search??? Gaping holes?

And is that a big ole pond right behind the trees where LE is parked or is that just dirt?

Unbelievable. I'm so glad they've found something though. I didn't think I'd see the day, to be honest.

I hope they find something within the next two hours.

If it (purse) was buried then it has to be a local and I hope this person did not have a car nearby. I hope wherever Holly is, is that she is somewhere within the radius that they are searching and that the perp did not take her out of state to kill her or that he did not bury her remains out of state to get rid of them.

TBI? Ugh.
Where's the FBI when you need them?!

Shefner, the FBI has converged on Boston MA, and Ironically, just gave a press conference asking for the American public's help in identifying the suspects in the marathon bombing investigation.

The FBI spokesperson said something to the effect of: "The American Public is a very valuable resource in investigations that we have relied on for over 100 years" Over 30% of the FBI's 10 Most Wanted has been apprehended due to the public's tips...."The public is our eyes and ears"...

Even if the TBI messed up, I hope they find Holly. She needs to come home and have a proper burial.

Anyone think TBI can find anything further (starting with the site the dogs found the purse)?

I am doubtful.

I am also doubtful this find will lead to Holly. It reminds me too much of the purse in Sierra's case, which I have always felt was left later, as the perp returned to the area.

I know for a fact the scene searches were a mess. It was like Keystone cops playing the soundtrack. Random volunteers were roaming, picking up things such as dog poo barehanded and walking it back to the investigation team asking "could this be anything?? I found it over there somewhere."

TBI should have had the scene (a huge area, imo) locked down.
more info should have been released along this long long time.
The family has been hush hush because IMO....the TBI allowed them to be vilified in the media.

Are we missing the fact that this girl could have thrown out evidence of her own...leaving a trail that no one caught onto? Megan's own trail and story, she laid it out herself across 3 counties.

Re-read KSharps post.

Holly is telling her story.

vegetation in Tennessee easily hides a lot. I'm not surprised over her purse /bag just being found.

I sure hope folks remember the reporting by the MS Media over the last two years, be patient and take the info with a grain of salt.
If they do not know where the purse was located, then obviously they do not know if it was buried, thrown in a stream bed, drainage ditch, hollow tree, shed, etc..

The k9 that recovered the purse may not be the first k9 or other animal to relocate it.
If the purse was discarded, as were the other items that have been found. Logical conclusions can not be made until a proper search is conducted and more accurate info released, imo.

It is not unusual for an abductor to discard items belonging to the victim in different areas while in route to another pre-planned location/safe haven..

Im not going to be negative about the TBI until I know the entire story. But, I am wondering why FBI isnt called in on this. It is very easy to get down on LE in cases such as this, and I know this first hand. But we need to know more than just what we are hearing as gossip from the area. I think that Will Nunley is a good person to follow for real news and not just speculation.
