This one also says the mom is a suspect.

WHITEVILLE, Tenn. — Three Tennessee sisters “may be in extreme danger” after allegedly being abducted late last month by their mother and a man possibly carrying a gun, the state bureau of investigation said Saturday.

The suspects and children may be en route to Arizona or Mississippi, according to the Amber Alert. Mayes has connections to Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida

I just thought of something. Could the reporters have assumed, based on the mother's removal from the Amber Alert, that she was now a suspect? That would explain the faux pas regarding that.

The Amber Alert now states that "Arrest warrants have been issued for Adam Mayes for the kidnapping of Jo Ann Bain and her three children." If she was kidnapped, she wouldn't be a suspect, I shouldn't think.

Edited to add, they just changed the wording in the Amber Alert again. I don't think they are looking for the mom anymore.

That video says that "the FBI announced moments ago", so this is not a very current video. That was released earlier today. When the story was released on some websites, it stated she was a suspect, but that was removed almost immediately. The current Amber Alert does not list her as a suspect.

But let's face it, we don't know much at this point. Who are the two bodies? Where is the family?

The most disappointing thing to me is that we have no clue as to what happened. I WILL be patient.

AMBER ALERT UPDATE: FBI finds 2 bodies while searching for missing TN woman

The FBI says two bodies have been found in Mississippi during the search for a missing Tennessee woman and her three children, but the identities are not known.

FBI spokesman Joel Siskovic said the bodies were found late Friday night or early Saturday morning in Guntown, Miss., in a residence associated with the man charged with abducting Jo Ann Bain and her children.

I am wondering if the photo at the link below is actually the 14 yr old and the 8 yr old? I find it very disturbing that he has images of himself with these young girls on his FaceBook page, including one as his profile picture. That just screams "inappropriate relationship" to me. Even if he was the nicest guy, I'd be alarmed about why my daughters had their arms around him, and their faces pressed close to his. Concerning! Unless he was a highly trusted and beloved relative, I'd never let that happen. I once had a male friend offer to babysit my daughters, when I wasn't even in need of a babysitter, and it seemed odd to me... then after that I didn't even want to be friends with him anymore. Don't care if I am paranoid (or even discriminating against men) as long as my girls get through their childhoods unscathed.

I am having just terrible fears about what may have happened in this case. :-(

They got the Amber Alert but they didn't publicize. What's the point of going through the trouble of getting an Amber Alert if you're not going to issue it nationally and even internationally?

It has hit national news though. CNN, ABC News, Fox News, etc. are all covering it. I think I saw it on USA Today's website as well. But, you're right, it hit national news way too late.

That statement makes it sound like that neither of the two bodies belongs to the mother or the girls.

IMO until these deceased people are properly identified and next of kin informed, LE have to tell the public they are searching for the mother and her children, even if they are pretty sure the deceased may be two of the missing.

Siskovic said the bodies were found in a residence, but it wasn't clear if it was a house, mobile home or apartment. He also wasn't sure if the residence belonged to Mayes or an acquaintance of his. Siskovic said the bodies were found in Guntown, north of Tupelo. Lee County coroner Carolyn Green said the bodies were found outside Guntown in Union County.

Siskovic said authorities talked to Mayes early on in the investigation, but he fled when they tried to contact him again. The FBI says they were not immediately aware of Mayes having a criminal record.

Authorities had said that Mayes could be in Mississippi but that he has ties to Arizona, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida.
