Details of Disappearance
Hamby was last seen leaving his residence on T Rich Road in Lancing, Tennessee at 7:00 p.m. on November 14, 2017. He left for a ride on his black, yellow and white 2018 Polaris RZR side-by-side, and has never been heard from again. A photo of the side-by-side is posted with this case summary. A tracking dog traced Hamby's scent for about five miles, but the trail went cold and there was no sign of him or his vehicle.

Hamby has had thirteen hip surgeries. He received a medical malpractice settlement after his surgeon used recalled parts in his hip replacements, but by the time of his disappearance all the money was gone: he'd paid off his father's mortgage and bought him a new truck and tractor, and cars for his teenage stepsons. His father had gone into debt to help pay for Hamby's medical care, and Hamby wanted to compensate him for that.

His hip problems prevented him from doing many physical activities, but he enjoyed riding his side-by-side. Little information is available in Hamby's case, but his family believes he's deceased.

Surely not.
"Roane County Sheriff’s Department Captain B.J. W. has been fired during a TBI investigation. Walker reportedly bought and had in his possession a Polaris RZR that was stolen. No further information regarding the incident was released as the case remains active. W. served the sheriff’s office since late 2008."

ROANE COUNTY SHERIFF DEPARTMENT OFFICER FIRED

Holy crap! How does a LE officer make that mistake???

There were 450k of this type vehicles (from several manufacturers) sold in the US in 2018 alone.
It's way too early to assume this stolen vehicle is Kevin's.

I took chimpface’s comment as that if you have a LE officer in a county potentially investigating a missing person’s case involving an ATV, and that officer is fired due to possessing a stolen ATV, it is not a good situation even if the officer is not involved in the disappearance of the missing person. It shows that things might not being done the way they should be in that jurisdiction.

The county where the officer worked (Roane) and the county from which Henry disappears (lancing in Morgan county) to have disappeared are different counties.
And the locations are not close enough together to assume someone would ride this type of vehicle that far.

"Kevin Hamby was last seen leaving his home on Rich Road in Lancing on this ATV in November 2017. In a press release shared on social media that District Attorney Russelll Johnson posted on behalf of the sheriff, the ATV was located about 250 yards below a ridge line lodged against a tree. A THP helicopter directed the searchers to the location of the ATV and when they got to it, confirmed that the ATV belonged to Hamby when they found the VIN. They also located a shoe belonging to Hamby, which was confirmed by a family member."
