I'm pretty new to the WS community but was just wondering is it common for people to "pick" at others for their wording or phrases? I don't mean for this to seem rude but I love everything else about this platform and I'm excited to be a part of the community but seeing this makes me apprehensive to type anything. Just wanted to see if this was common or what?

I don't feel my wording or phrasing was "picked" on. I had gotten the year of the car wrong and the poster disagreed with part of my post. It's difference of opinion and not everyone agrees with everyone all of the time. But if you feel picked on don't hesitate to notify a mod and they'll come over and check it out. Same if you feel another poster is being picked on. Things can get heated at times when emotions run high.

I wouldn't say it's typical, no. But when posters notice a pattern which escalates and which is joined with a particular attitude, it tends to be notable and, therefore, noted.

I wasn't trying to "pick," just thought it was odd that such an unusual term was used in a way which didn't seem to jive with the definition. I was left wondering if terms are being used in order to offer precise language (of which I'm a big fan) or if there was perhaps another intention behind word choices and usage.

IMO

Thank you for that. I was told by the Walmart personnel that no info could be posted. That's when I called Mobile PD. This was never an option for me. I will pursue again.

You can also print out flyers and ask area businesses to post the flyers. Most are more than willing. If you have a truckstop nearby, that's another good place to hand out flyers. Last weekend a few of us went to an area truckstop and the truckers were more than happy to take a flyer. AA's are a voluntary program and the state it originates in decides where it goes out to, if it does. The AA request is received by the originating state and then it's up to the receiving state to decide if it fits their criteria and if they want to participate. It's a tough call to extend an AA beyond a state's border. But since someone as far away as Nebraska reported a sighting, it's evidence that people are being vigilant and looking out for ET and TC.

I'm relatively new too and It is more of a process of narrowing down what a poster is saying so that their input can be fully understood and appreciated. At least that is my take on it and it isn't something that happens a lot. :)

Someone mentioned Vegas and I've heard that rooms and meals are fairly cheap there, is this the case?

A big Walmart is a good place to stop. Tons of people and I rarely see a soul I know when I'm in Walmart, everyone there is a stranger so strangers don't stick out.

That all depends on the size of the city/town where the Walmart is located. When I go to Walmart in Little Rock where I grew up and lived most of my life (over 35 years), I never (or rarely) see anyone I know. However, when I go to one of the Walmarts in the suburbs of Little Rock where I've lived for the past 11 years I see people I know nearly every time I go to Walmart - and usually multiple people I know. They will probably get noticed much more quickly if they go to a Walmart in a smaller community as opposed to bigger cities.

Welcome! Please don't be apprehensive to post. The key to responding to someone's post in a negative way is to "scroll & roll". Just no response at all vs the back and forth. I've rarely seen what we have been witness to recently. Frankly, I'm kind of surprised the mods didn't step in... we have great mods!

It wasn't really mean that's why I put the "pick" in quotation marks. Im not a very sensitive person so no big deal. I was just curious if that's the normal. I understand when someone uses different terms wanting to clarify it. You don't want to assume something and be totally off about it. I think different languages/sentence structure/word usage can be harder to understand when reading rather than spoken (I barley got by in Spanish due to sentence structure). Thanks for the answer!

YES. you can find rooms in vegas for 25. a night.... I just booked 4 nights in June for 36. a night ... and you can eat very cheap if you want. And these are not 'dumps'. They want your money...thinking you will gamble more.

I am bummed out we are thread #11 with not much to go on. My brother left for work which is driving from MI down to TX. (works on wind turbines) he's got all the info and flyers to drop off at stops along the way. I don't have any other ideas at this point.I pray she is home soon and her family is hanging in there. Also I have zero tolerance for victim blaming. Take that elsewhere.

you can find cheap lodging and food yes, but getting ET in a casino would be a tad suspect me thinks.

Yes it can be cheap, but those cheap rooms aren't very safe or nice. You can get food cheap too, but the bigger hotels are getting more and more expensive for that too and the smaller ones really want to feed you cheap in return for you gambling in their establishment. I was wondering if TC has had any history of gambling, online or in casinos. If he tries to even use a slot machine with ET in tow he will be noticed immediately if she is not within a certain distance from the gambling machines or tables. Casinos are very strict about minors on the floor and they need to be moving through and not stopping or security is right on that. I suspect that LE has peppered Las Vegas with alerts on TC and one thing about Vegas, they are very high tech and they monitor 24/7. TC would be a fool to go there IMO.

I am new here also. Your question makes me ponder, perhaps my tendency to respond directly to whomever is asking could feed others’ propensity to ask for more? I am tempted to ask some of those who responded to you for clarification as some innuendoes appear to be untoward. I am afraid to ask but I am not offended or bitter.
I take nothing from this virtual interaction personal. Just foods for thought. What matters most is if we were collectively smarter than the *******, Tad Cummins that is!

I beg to differ. It is not like a small group of Walmart employees is watching all their video footages. If each store has one security officer review the footage daily, the officers taking turn, why would that be difficult? In fact, should they be doing that anyway? Or, what for are camera surveillance if the records are not review?
Business owner here, with a dozen cameras. While the monitor showing each camera view is in front of someone during all business hours and I occasionally get on my phone to view them as well, I couldn't imagine having someone sit and watch every second. And I'm not open 24 hours a day. I review when necessary and watch live when something feels off. I'd imagine every business owner does the same.

So if you book a room in a more affordable place they make you gamble? Or is that a choice? I mean someone can book a room and not gamble, right? Reason I ask is I've heard from people so much that lodging in those hotels isn't expensive and they usually have an all you can eat buffet that's very reasonable so it's a cheap area to stay, as long as you stay away from the gambling.

Re: Las Vegas. Most of the hotels are attached to the casinos. There are cameras everywhere, security guards watching intently. And the air is thick with cigarette smoke. It's not a good environment for people with allergies.

Off Topic:

Colorado has a ban on smoking in casinos! :)

I'm not sure I'd define wearing a flannel shirt as "bedizened."

But you win the prize for the most "5-point words" used in one post.

Has anyone mentioned what is Mr. Tad Cummins main hobby? Where did he grew up as a 15 to 25 year old man? Has he played football? Does he have long-term family friends? Does he have siblings and where do his siblings (if applicable) live? Are his parents still alive, and if his parents were dead where are they buried?

Some WS members said that they are not afar from where Tad Cummins’ soon to be ex-wife lives. May be they could learn his habits from the community. To know Tad Cummins habits is to know where he could replicate his way of life and at which similar place he could be hiding. This may be half sarcastical but it should not surprise if Mr. Tad Cummins were someday captured in a Walmart store!

If this was CSI Miami or some crime drama, sure we could have security officers sit and review every second of footage looking for Elizabeth. Heck we could even have the real time satellite imagery data sent to the FBI so they could basically watch Tad pull off with Elizabeth and track them turn by turn. We could have every IP address from every device in that Walmart that day tracked to see if Tad could be carrying a burner phone and then get the location through the IP. ......
But sadly this is real life and a real girl is a victim here. Unfortunately these types of things are not going to happen.
Why stop there? Maybe we can get Keifer Sutherland from CTU to solve this one for us.
