"On a personal note, I met Elizabeth for the first time. I was taken aback by who she is. Elizabeth is a little child. She could easily pass for 12. The primary photo used and reprinted so many times by law enforcement, the media, and even our office, is inaccurate. She is a little girl in every sense of the word. This was the abduction of an impressionable, little child."

Thank you for the link!
I appreciate his personal statement. She is a child. I think in that town...it can't be said enough.
To who?
Can you imagine how confused she must be? It's likely that coming from a large family, she didn't get a lot of adult attention. Here was an adult giving her the attention and praise she likely craved. And she was an insecure teen, because she was a teen and most are insecure, but also because she had been abused previously and was being bullied at school. Yet here was this man telling her how beautiful she was and what power she had over him to make him be in love, etc. That must have been heady, super flattering stuff.
But her reported conduct in hiding from him, seeking scared of him at times and telling her sibling to find her if he didn't come back the same day, show her gut was telling her this guy is bad news. That the situation wasn't right.
How confusing.
And it appears he used his role as an authority figure over her to control her as well, threatening "consequences" if she didn't meet up with him.
It must be so surreal and conflicting for the poor kid.
That's good. I'm glad only what's needed is being released at this time.
My God, THANK YOU!!!
Were they using both or just one?
I haven't wanted to comment in any overtly negative way until Elizabeth was found safe. Now that she is safe, I just have to get this off my chest:
Tad Cummins is one skeevy looking SOB.
(Whew! Held that in for a looooong time.)
I kind of wish he'd shush.
Uggg on the personal statement by the lawyer that she is more like 12.
I did read a comment from a family friend awhile back that said she wan't a mature 15 yr old but I can't find it now.
I think that was a pointed statement to their town. I'm glad he said it. Those who have disparaged her and defended and protected TC should feel shame.
JMO, of course.
I sure hope the mental health professionals, or trauma specialists or whoever is there to help ET get through this stress STRONGLY to her, to stay off social media (and close the accounts she currently has open).
There is some utterly revolting things being posted to her, about her, this case, etc. This girl does not need to read any of it.
