She should've called the parent immediately and let him know about the allegations and investigation. For goodness sakes the schools call home when the kids have a belly ache but don't when the student may have been kissing a teacher?!?
The school seems to have handled this all wrong. Worst of all, they punished this poor girl instead of getting her some help! If they didn't know what to do, they should've called DCFS and the parents and then let the police handle the rest.

Schools dont want us to think they would do such a thing as coverup for their teachers but their actions time and time again show us that is what they appear to be doing.

We dont know for sure in this case but all signs point to them trying to sweep this under a rug.

And now the impact may put the girl in jeapordy.

There's a good reason I'm not any sort of authority figure in a school system because if I found out one of my teachers had innocently pecked a student on the lips, I would innocently escort his/her out of the building and into a squad car, possibly tripping him several times along the way.

I don't think they're going to be looking for a church or a minister... I think this "child of God" and "warrior poet (?)" is going to convince this girl that if they just say the right words to each other, they'll be married in the eyes of God. He goes on and on about what a good Christian he is and how God has guided his life. She apparently was buying into all of his bs and her family was in church "three to four times a week." So I don't think they're going to look for a license, church or minister. And Ms. Cummins had grounds - at least in Texas - to divorce his butt on abandonment and adultery charges the minute he walked out the door with that child. And probably a whole host of other thing.

All of the above is just my opinion and I could be totally wrong at anytime.

I think if they where driving that car, they'd be found.
Police here don't have to manually enter a plate number anymore. They sit back and the radar scans all the tags going by. When there's a hit, then they manually call in the tag. Most of the time it's for things like unpaid registration, driving with no insurance, suspended license. But you'd better believe that LE has that tag entered as a hit. Once it drives past a police officer who's out on the prowl, they would be caught.
I'm wondering if they have ditched the car? But If so then how are they traveling? It's a mystery!

Also, if they were still in that car with the same plates they'd have to avoid all highways due to licences plate readers. I think that even switching license plates would be so risky. I think unless they are tucked away in the wilderness with the car well hid, then they probably ditched the car. But that makes me wonder why if the car has been abandoned, why has it not been found?

I think this is only my 2nd post ever. This poor girl's disappearance has me so upset.

At least at the time TC had started manipulating ET, ET was safe at her father's house.
So wouldn't she be more secure as a person by then and not looking for someone to love her ?

NO!

I'm sorry, but NO. Definitely not. The impact of abuse is too often life long. Abused children are at a HUGE risk of dealing with depression, self esteem issues, addiction, suicidal thoughts, continually being in abusive relationships, etc. The mental, spiritual, and social impact of abuse does not just go away with stability. Being secure coming from abuse is a long, difficult road for the vast majority of abuse victims.

I agree 100%.

Also, upthread someone mentioned about the vehicle's license plate being entered. I can almost guarantee it is. It's standard procedure in a missing person case to enter the missing person, any aliases, any known associates they could be with (which would include TC) and any possible associated vehicles into NCIC. If anyone runs that name/a name, 3 year +- DOB combo/associates name/alias name, etc....there will be a 'hit'. Even in another state.

Last night I was sitting at my kitchen bar stuffing my face with homemade chili and crackers, and around that time is when the story broke about his computer searches. So I'm thinking to myself.........with all of the information that could have leaked out to the public about TC and the days leading up to his departure, why is it that they decided to release this information to the public ?

LE divulged that he had researched teen-aged marriage as well as whether or not his vehicle could be tracked. That's it. Whatever else they found while running searches on his computer wasn't released to the public, which may have been a whole lot more. You know how LE is always withholding information under the premise that they don't want to corrupt the investigation, regardless of how minuscule and mundane the information may be. You know how when they finally do release something, there always seem to be some kind of strategy or psychology behind it ?

So the question remains, why was this information released for public consumption ?

Now.....back to my chili...............

They might of changed the plates...People steal plates all the time...it isn't hard to do.

Yes people steal plates all the time but it's not that easy. The stolen plate would have to be from the same make and model and about the same year, it would also have to be not reported stolen. So it's not as simple as the crime TV shows make it out to be.
In this day and age, with the technology that le has, you can't just throw some random plate on a car and drive by police with no worries.

Would there be any campgrounds, children day camps, that are empty this time of year that he could have researched and be hiding at?

For those who think it's so easy to drive around with the wrong plates on your car, maybe swap plates with your friend for the day! See how long until your pulled over!

( I'm kidding, you'd get in big trouble!)

But .....The game would end rather quickly because the technology we have today. I know those old court TV shows still run showing all types of car thieves driving around with phony plates but times have changed....

Re: the comments from Elizabeth's brother in which he says Elizabeth told her sibling to call the police if she wasn't home by 6pm. Is it possible that the police comment was a fib made up by her brother in a wishful thinking / denial kind of way to deflect any "responsibility" from Elizabeth? It just seems an odd comment considering what seems like mutual advance plans to leave together.

This is really of no consequence, it's just bugged me since I first read the brother's comments.

I flat out didn't believe she ever said that, but having to concede, that there was no good reason for anyone to make that up, I have to consider that we don't know the context for her saying such a thing. It certainly does not fit anything we do know about her obsession with Toad. She couldn't stay away from him, even at school, after being formally ordered not to go to his class. And she's going to want him to be arrested? Absolutely not. imo.

Is it possible, that she was so confident, in their "plan" that she sarcastically said, ( perhaps in response to his asking if she would home for dinner), "If I'm not, call the police!" ?

I don't think E thought the whole thing was just a fantasy, and she didn't really believe he would run away with her. imo she was solidly on board. I also don't think she though he was just taking her "on a date", like out for an ice-cream or something, and then he refused to bring her home...She was close to his wife, they went to church together and so forth, I doubt she would start dating him, right there in town, like that.

I get the sense that they pre-planned, ( highly efficiently), this get-away. I just cant reconcile her level of obsession with that comment...

That's why I don't believe he went north, east or south. The area is too congested, too many plate readers and tolls.

I'm for certain he is either holed up in some cabin/abandoned home in the foothills of Tennessee or out west in Texas or Arizona where the alerts aren't news and plate readers aren't a thing.

I think it is possible she was conflicted too. I think it is possible that when she was with TC, and he's talking this big talk about running away to exotic beaches, maybe a part of her wanted that adventure. But then, when she was with her brother, maybe she realized what leaving her family would really mean. Maybe she told him that because she knew she'd end up giving in and going along with him because of the hold he has over her, but she still wanted to be rescued. Maybe she figured if she was rescued, TC couldn't hold it against her that she wasn't going off with him.

I agree. I also believe its possible that ET was all on board when things were in the planning stage but then got cold feet when the time came. Maybe she didnt think they would actually go through it. There is a photo of one of her little sisters on instagram and you can tell she loves her. I cant help but think she would really would not want to leave her little sister.

Do we REALLY know, KNOW honestly that he's RAPED her?
Again, just playing Devil's Advocate.
(I'm still on the side of believing that he manipulated her into going with him, but we honestly only have proof of a peck on the lips.)
I'm 100% sure that he took advantage of her "home wrecked" situation. I hate him for that.
Just throwing out another talking point.
Again, fully expect to be the victim of hatred. I'm okay with that. Just wanted us to explore a different angle.
Some have asked if there's sure proof they are together.
I'm just offering another opinion. Not necessarily what I think though!

I don't understand why you keep minimizing abuse of a student? Just "a peck on the lips" Huh? Look where it lead!.

Any teacher that gave my little girl, just a "peck on the lips" would find himself collecting his nether regions out of a trash can!

Exactly.

And on top of that he dumped his wife for HER.

That screams to a sexual motive.

If he was only interested in helping the child he would have stayed with his wife and helped her from his home base with wifes support.

I agree. And if he had honest intentions there would not be a bookful of 'love letters' to her on instagram. There is absolutely no reason for them.

I agree - I also think he will use them being married in Gods eyes as a way to justify sex with her since she has been raised up going to church.

ET's sister - I will refer her here to ST says (now there appears to be bullying going around in that school, reports being made, and the school administration doing nothing about it):

ST heard Cummins tell stories with other students about being in the FBI, CIA and Secret Service. “He was a weirdo,” she said.

It wasn’t until allegations of Cummins and her sister kissing at school that ST said other students made fun of her. “She would say, ‘I got to get out of here. We got to leave. We got to get out of here,’” said ST about her sister. ST said she tried to stop other students from bullying her sister, but it wasn’t enough.

“She would always say for me to make them stop, and I tried. I’d bring them to the office and they didn’t do anything. I can only do so much,” she said.

After the Amber Alert was issued, ST said she is now struggling at school without her sister. “Sometimes I’ll hear a comment here and there about, ‘Oh, I bet he’s raping her or hurting her.’ I don’t want to think about that. She is my little sister.”

With each passing day, I grow more and more angry at this school's administration/teachers/counselors/superintendent/etc.

I'm terrified for Elizabeth. This story has had a few days of pretty intense national news coverage and no on has seen them. The perp might like to play "secret agent" but he's sure as heck not one. IM worried that they have not been spotted because they are not moving. This girl deserves a chance at life. Please let this . be the day she is found unharmed
