Hi, everyone! I apologize for just jumping right into this thread but I have a few questions. I am at work right now so I can't spend much time reading, googling, etc.

Can anyone tell me when the possible sighting of Cummins and Elizabeth in Decatur, AL occurred?

Also, has there been any report that Cummins may be traveling in a vehicle other than the Nissan Rouge?

I am really freaking out here! One day last week, I drove past a Wal-Mart in our town and I saw an older man and a teen-age girl walking through the parking lot where they were getting into a strange looking vehicle. They appeared so odd, so out of place, but I thought I was just crazy for having a weird feeling come over me. In fact, I even picked up my cell phone to call the police but I did not call.

We live in an area that gets a lot of traffic moving through with tourists and immigrants from all over the world. Our town is small but busy.

What grabbed my eye was that the girl had a hoodie on her head and she was pulling it down very tightly with her hands. All of her clothing was bright pink. I am 99% sure she is a teen ager. The man was older and it was during the mid morning when most kids would be in school. He was walking quickly to the vehicle which was parked at the far side of the parking lot by itself with no other vehicles anywhere around it. The girl was walking behind him and slowly.

I swear, my first thought was... that girl does not want to be with that man! I had not heard anything about Elizabeth at that time, but if I had, I would have called the police for sure.

Their body types meet the descriptions of Cummings and Elizabeth perfectly.

The vehicle was very odd. It was something between a small van and an RV. It was squarish, sort of like an old military vehicle of some sort. Honestly, I couldn't tell what it was. It was all one color, black. I am pretty sure that the windows were darkened to the same color as the rest of the vehicle, so it was just a bland, dull, black all over.

I just found out about Elizabeth! We are 300 miles from Decatur, AL.

I'm tending to believe OLDER sister. In reading thru ET IG, there are people 3 or so weeks ago she is telling to leave her alone, she wants to fight with, threatens to beat down, will have her 18 yr old sister beat up etc......... I think she was being picked on at school, there was another boy mentioned from before, and other issues with girls. She wanted 'out'. I also from reading ALL the comments going back thru on both sites, think TC MAY have tried to back away a bit...and she 'begged' him back. Again... NOT HER FAULT... she's the CHILD, but lets put the whole story out there.
They will only be found if she/he wants it or they make a huge mistake. This was well thought out and planned, not a spur of the moment, but I think it was pushed to be quicker once a few things happened that week. That may be the 'saving grace' where a mistake is made.
The church 3 or 4 times a week, abuse at home ( was mom living with dad then?) and then someone she 'clicked' with at her new school and was interested in church... perfect storm for a midlife crisis from a grandpa that wants to be idolized. (per his IG description, and yes, i'm reading into it)
I see more of a backstory we don't know about yet... that will answer more questions.

Interesting backstory. Pretty incredible a 50 year old would make these choices!

There was a cell phone ping in Decatur Alabama, the day they went missing if I'm not mistaken. I'm not sure of the time.

I thought the same thing. Before I learned about the case, I was driving by the gas station a few minutes from my house and saw an older man that looked like TC hurriedly walking from the entrance of the gas station back to his silver vehicle that looked like a Nissan. It was night time and it was around the time they went missing. I'm about 4 hours from Decatur. But I don't know if it's anything. Would he really go into the gas station to pay if it was them? I feel like I should call the police but I feel like it would be another useless tip. Plus the manager of that gas station is very rude. Not sure how easy it would be to work with her.

I think their is 0 chance that the took and airplane or a cruise ship. I just don't see it happening... Is there any chance that they bought a boat and used it to travel say from Florida to an island.... Or from Texas to Mexico... What type of vessel would one need for that type of travel?

ET's sister - I will refer her here to ST says (now there appears to be bullying going around in that school, reports being made, and the school administration doing nothing about it):

ST heard Cummins tell stories with other students about being in the FBI, CIA and Secret Service. “He was a weirdo,” she said.

It wasn’t until allegations of Cummins and her sister kissing at school that ST said other students made fun of her. “She would say, ‘I got to get out of here. We got to leave. We got to get out of here,’” said ST about her sister. ST said she tried to stop other students from bullying her sister, but it wasn’t enough.

“She would always say for me to make them stop, and I tried. I’d bring them to the office and they didn’t do anything. I can only do so much,” she said.

After the Amber Alert was issued, ST said she is now struggling at school without her sister. “Sometimes I’ll hear a comment here and there about, ‘Oh, I bet he’s raping her or hurting her.’ I don’t want to think about that. She is my little sister.”

With each passing day, I grow more and more angry at this school's administration/teachers/counselors/superintendent/etc.

I feel sorry for her and I also find her credible re: the police comment.

I would call in your tips, folks. even if they turn out to be benign...

perhaps this will all come down to money. my gut says if he had to secure a car loan for $4500 he's not banking a like amount...it sounds substantial on paper but that money WILL run out, sooner vs later...no matter how sparse their living/camping/driving conditions. eventually he or she or both will have to surface for the purpose of income.

Elizabeth Thomas' family is now literally worried sick. We're told her father blood pressure is over 200 and he may have to be hospitalized.

Also, if they were still in that car with the same plates they'd have to avoid all highways due to licences plate readers. I think that even switching license plates would be so risky. I think unless they are tucked away in the wilderness with the car well hid, then they probably ditched the car. But that makes me wonder why if the car has been abandoned, why has it not been found?

I don't think they ditched the car. You need transportation when you are on the run. I do think they'll avoid driving main roads and if they need to go to a store, they'll park way in the back of the parking lot. Or as many have suggested, they may have switched plates already, although that might attract more, rather than less attention if the plates were reported stolen (not sure how that works.)

I want to correct my error. I'm actually about an hour and a half away from Decatur. Don't know why I said 4 (leaning towards mommy brain). So about 100 miles. So I don't know what time the phone ping was and I'm not sure if my "sighting" is legit.

Yes, and I would say call them in now. Both of those situations sound like parking lots which would have surveillance cameras, but AFAIK some businesses don't keep the recordings forever. Call... before the recordings might be unavailable anymore.

I'm from a boating family, so for me no. That's why I was asking, what is normal or obvious for me (that's how I would get out of the country) may be completely crazy to someone else.
