The link to the MSM article about TC looking for work in Decatur is in one of my post from last night on the thread

Unless she wants to be there [emoji23]

Yeah. There is always that chance that she is a willing participant.

Im holding onto hope that the novelty of the trip is wearing off and hoping she makes a move to try to let LE or someone know where they are.

It really disgusts me how some people on SM and other sites are defending this man- not even defending him but claim he's going through a 'mid-life crisis,' needs help, or wasn't completely at fault because ET played a role in it as well. NO, he is a sick pedophile and is a big danger to society. ET wasn't the first student to go to church with him or spend a lot of time with him in his classroom- many students and one particular female student- have stated that they went to his classroom whenever they wanted to have fun or 'hang out.' He obviously used methods to make them feel like they could trust him (he looks like he TRIES to dress younger, talks jovially, jokes around, is 'laid-back').
All this plus buying ET gifts and putting ideas in her head was the perfect recipe for taking advantage of that abused child. He is a pervert.

Any Marinas around any lakes in Alabama?

Yes, most of them- from what I recall. The state parks have the most [marina facilities], but those are also the places that would be patrolled the most as well.

FYI: All the electronic billboards/signage in and around Montgomery, AL has this Amber Alert info flashing 24/7, not to mention on our roadways too. (I-65 & I-85, to be specific)

I'm torn between thinking they're hiding in a remote area in the U.S. vs. believing they attempted flight to Mexico. But a few sleuthers have felt Tad and Elizabeth might be closer to home--between Decatur (where her phone pinged) and their hometown of Columbia.

I volunteered to look into places in this area, bc--to me--that seems like it could produce some constructive ideas. National Forests were listed in a previous post.

Here's a list of campgrounds near Decatur if anyone wants to check to see which ones of these might be closed for the season or have an "on your honor" type admission for open camping. We could also start collecting email addresses and send posters just to make sure everyone is looking.

We had a cool teacher everyone liked like this in my HS but he never had physical contact with anyone as far as I know. I can see it now if this goes to trial all this pro TC kids filling up the courtroom supporting him. Ugh [emoji58]

Someone mentioned on one of the many FB pages that there are openings at different areas in Texas at the Mexican border that aren't patrolled and you can walk over by foot easy peasy. Trumps wall would have stopped them if they tried. Lol.

you did an AWESOME job......you had your eyes open and you remained calm enough to contact LE and stay alert.
To be caught up in a case such as this, see a car you think is them, I can only imagine how your heart was pounding. You did what needed to be done and for that I thank you.
Try to calm down and enjoy your coffee.

If you work with the areas surrounding Decatur, there are quite a few national forests, which I've listed below.

Does anyone have time to look up the websites for these places and see which ones might offer easiest access/most covert and inexpensive lodging options?

I'm going to look for campgrounds next.

Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge
Bankhead National Forest
Nantahala National Forest
Talladega National Forest
Johns Mountain Wildlife Management Area
Holly Springs National Forest
Bienville National Forest
Daniel Boone National Forest
Shawnee National Forest
"Land Between the Lakes" National Recreation

Land Between the Lakes - in Kentucky? I stayed there 5th and 6th grade. They have lots of cabins and seprate buildings with showers.

to add, I looked at their website, they have a lot of activities happening this weekend, so probably not a place they can sneak into and stay in a cabin undetected.

Okay, so let's start here. This should create a clickable/zoomable map for the Decatur area.

If you select the map icon in the lower left, it will switch between street map and Google Earth map which will show you more of the landscape.

This is probably obvious to all, but clicking the + or - zooms you in and out.

What I see immediately are forest areas called Bankhead National Forest and Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge. Let's click around and add more areas of interest in this area.

Once we get a list going, I will flag some of these areas of interest and add a more developed map reflecting those spots.

1. Point Mallard Point: Water park/Recreation. Closed and not due to open until April 12.
2. Storage Units: Remote reservations and large drive up facility, kind of remote location too: Hartselle Him Storage1800 Teague Rd NW Hartselle Al. 35640.
3. I also noticed some cemeteries and got to thinking that there have been cases of people breaking into mausoleums and hiding out, pretty gruesome thought, but a possibility.

Here are storage areas in the Decatur vicinity. If anyone's interested, someone could check to see which ones allow 24-hour access...have key codes etc. Also which ones have large units capable of storing vehicles...and which are in remote areas. Again, we could also collect email addresses and send posters to these.

Just trying to come up with constructive ways to use our energy that could potentially help the case.

Don't operators and managers of these campgrounds get amber alerts?I think if they are camping it's off the grid with no hookups in a very rural desolate area alone away from anyone who might recognize them. He's going to keep ET secluded in the event she changes her mind and tries to take off and get help.

What about old airplane hangers near the Airport road. Vacant, grass grown up type of place?

Ok I need to go lurk. What are the fb pages? There is two correct? Can someone send them to me please

I was thinking that place was just used in summer but looking at website it has activities year round

Agree. It baffles me that the other teachers weren't finding his behavior odd. I would think most teachers would relish their lunch hour to spend with other adults in the teacher's lounge or outside somewhere. But not TC. Maybe it has something to do with him being intimidated by other adults and of course the fact he was grooming ET and who knows how many others. :(

Here's an Inside edition YouTube video of an ex reporter who was very well known and now lives off the grid and he explains how easy it would be for TC and ET to do this for awhile. His guess is three weeks max.

In the immediate Decatur vicinity, there is a list of hotel/motels--most of which are national chains. They could certainly be in one of those, but my bet would be on something more like these places which are independent and seem to advertise "no fuss, basic, cheap rooms."

I'm finding these to trigger ideas. But if anyone has time and wants to google them and email or call to make sure they have posters, that'd be another way to help.

Nitefall Motel
2611 US-31, Decatur, AL 35603
Say they're a no fuss, "basic accomodations" independent motel

Magnolia Motel
1101 6th Ave SE, Decatur, AL 35601
"Low cost, cheap rooms"

Studio 9 (looks like an apartment building)
440 Johnston St SE, Decatur, AL 35601
"Functional, basic rooms"

I am sure many do. A couple years ago, I was VERY surprised, however, how many people in my state were somehow completely oblivious to another missing persons case that was all over the news and internet near me. I would tell people about it when I went to get my hair cut or teeth cleaned, just spreading the word in the area. And seriously, 8 times out of 10, people had not heard about the case. It made me scared for any person who goes missing.

We all think with so many people watching, how could someone go missing? But a lot of people aren't watching or don't know to watch. They may see something or remember something unusual after being singled out and told about the case.
