The mother is scheduled to appear in court next month and has pleaded not guilty to five counts of abuse and neglect involving several of her children. The girl’s father filed for divorce Monday, citing the alleged abuse. His daughter was found safe with her teacher last week at a cabin in a remote part of Northern California.

The girl’s father has said the 50-year-old teacher brainwashed his daughter. In divorce documents, he said the teacher used his position of authority to “prey upon her, groom her, and ultimately entice her into running away with him.” ...

I don't care if she was 6 foot tall and was packing a D cup...mentally, emotionally, and legally, she is a child. It infuriates me to no end that there is even a discussion about how "developed" she was physically. Because....if she were a voluptuous child, you could maybe understand this pervert's actions?

Absolutely agreed but I'll just add that it bothers me for a different reason : she was already a very petite young girl & this slimebag seems to have been encouraging her to interact with him in a disturbingly childlike way. When I read that she'd lost a lot of weight it concerned me that he was using food deprivation as a means of control with the added "bonus" of making her appear even younger physically.

I know from personal experience that regularly going without food as a teenager doesn't just have a drastic effect on weight, it also effects your physical development & menstruation (which can stop completely for months). Given his employment history & the types of classes he taught, it makes me wonder if he was aware of all of this because he doesn't appear to have lost much weight at all.

He lied to her about her family wanting her back. He lied about them pleading for her return on TV. He lied to her about so many things. A b*****d like that wouldn't think twice about lying about there being no food while he kept a secret stash for himself.

I thought that was a good point. Whether or not she is developed (or not) really wouldn't change the fact that she is a child/young teen who is emotionally and intellectually immature. Sure there may be tinges here and there of some maturity but she is still not ready for adult decisions by any means.

Lawyer: family is doing well, counselors will get ET back to normal, at times she appears normal, looks/acts 12, growth may be stunted (?!?!)

Father is stoic, but this broke him. Never had a client weep in the way he did. We've had to reign in his emotional response because she cannot handle it.

The sight of the Thomas mother on media is hurtful to her children - they can't stand to see her.

I'm sure we're going to be shocked when this goes to trial and it comes out why he was being investigated. I have a sneaking suspicion it wasn't about ET. I think there was another student he was grooming when ET hit the radar and he dropped that other student because ET was an easier target. There was something in a couple of ET's posts that led me to believe there was another child he was playing her against. Call it a hunch. I think the other student made a complaint.

One of the things I found most impressive about her plan of care is that she is in control of who she sees, and when she wants to see them. Naturally, every family member wants to see her and spend time with her, but I can imagine that a constant parade of people coming and going might be incredibly overwhelming for her right now. Especially if she is having some difficulty accepting the realities of what actually happened to her.

5 live at home. One daughter, Brandy Landaeu is not and a son...don't remember which. They are older and are standing by the mother.

There were four that TC groomed. One was a minor who came forward publicly. Two of them are adults and one is a child, 12.

Was that the only clothing? Testing for his "DNA" on them, iykwim?

Where was their change of clothing as none were not seen iorc in media photos of the cabin?

Was their clothing left In the car?

If you're referring to the post about the item she was trying to return, I'm not sure she bought it for herself. There's a relatively recent pic of her trying on a dress (possibly for her confirmation?) & though pix can sometimes be deceptive, I really don't think she's anywhere near the sizes mentioned in that post. Se looks smaller than my daughters, neither of whom are past B yet.

Obviously that pic was taken prior to her recent weight loss too, so her size would be even smaller now. She has more than one older sister so I think it's possible she was talking about a gift purchase.

Generally speaking, the 12 year old girls who haven't developed yet are few and far between. At least in my area. 15 yo girls were more developed than I was at 30!

I am just finding a lot of discrepancies about every part of this story from one report to the next.

It makes sense that it was a gift.
After all is said and done, it really doesn't matter. It doesn't change the fact that a man took someone else's child 9 states away and didn't allow her to contact her family for over a month.

According to NG podcast with the attorney TC was the one that cut and dyed her hair. I remember either her sister or sister-in-law saying she had very short hair now.

Yes it's terrible. TC doesn't really have any redeeming qualities at all.

It makes me sick when he says he wanted to protect Elizabeth. All he wanted to do was have a physical relationship with a minor. I really hope he gets the maximum time and his ex wife will eventually be better off without the ******* as much as she is traumatized at this time .
