Many locally it seems did and have. We don;t know a lot about before the disappearance, only after. The locals may have more info. There is alot not known since she is a minor and may never be backed up since it will be sealed and he said/she said. I hope she gets the help she needs and is guided to a better life

Hoping here is no marriage and the state is forced to provided conjugal visits.

I don't know what TC's sentence will be. IMO it could go either way - it's hard to say right now. I think there's a lot we don't know about that will come out in the trial. Most trials take a long time from start to finish. By the time the trial is over ET will probably be 18 or close to it. When that time comes she'll be able to make the choice to be with him if she chooses. Sadly, there's nothing that can prevent her from doing so. I hope that's not how this plays out, but it's a hard reality.

I am fairly certain that the judge can order "no contact with the victim" while the perpetrator is incarcerated. She might be able to write him but he would be unable to receive phone calls or visits from her, at least.

I sure hope I'm right. And honestly, maybe all of the awful things this girl has experienced in her life will work together for good because she has ended up in a facility where she can get some help. I pray the right people are involved in her care right now.

TWO EDGED SWORD
Maybe if mcet hears about tc being 'glad this is over' and about his calls to his wife, she will be glad it's over as well. That would be a good thing. But hopefully is won't exacerbate any depression she may have.

The last part of the "adventure" couldn't have been much fun, living in remote Northern California in an unfinished unheated cabin with no amenities. The first thing MCET wanted when she got back was a hot shower. She also had to be glad it was over, but maybe not so glad to have to return She wanted to escape from her problems, and instead ended up with more problems. I hope she is in a good, long recovery program and that she will be well cared for going forward.

There's definitely that element in our society and IMHO, MCET needs a fresh start in a different place, if that can be arranged.
 
I wonder if they have been writing or trying to write letters to one another as that what inmates live for is mail. Are there any current orders prohibiting that? Inmates are sneaky they have ways of getting mail out after all these are criminals and no workarounds for that.

I know that usually no contact with victims prior to trial is standard in my state, but not sure about TN/Fed charges. I doubt TC is able to sneak anything at this point - he's probably in protective custody or administrative segregation.

That, and nobody outside of MCET's family and close associates knows exactly where SHE is.
 
I hope she doesn't try writing him. I know Casey Anthony and Jodi Arias pulled a few mail and secret messages tricks such as having mail go to another inmate under an alias. Yada yada. Being that ET is a victim still in love with this guy and probably still willing to keep secrets with him doesn't seem completely impossible. Deputies and guards do make deals with inmates. It happens more than you think. It happened here in orange county CA. Inmate was a gang member who bartered with deputy for Laker tickets in order to turn a blind eye to him having sex with his GF during visits and food. It was in our local paper. A friend of mine is a correctional officer in Alameda County, CA some Deputies do favors for inmates for the right price. Unfortunately there are crooked folks in every profession.
 
Huntsville defense attorney Mark McDaniel is not representing Cummins, but he shared some insights on how the defense may proceed. McDaniel told us there's only two possible defenses for Cummins.

"The argument would be that he didn't take her across state lines with the intent to have sex. I don't think that's going to fly," said McDaniel.

McDaniel says the more likely defense is insanity.

Heres just a few of these inmate deputy bribery cases. I could just see old TC pulling the old charm playing the nice guy I'm the victim card to befriend one of jail deputies for special favors. After all he's so well liked in his community and all the support from students and others. He's such a good manipulator

The only thing TC really has to bribe with though is sex. And I can't imagine that being too sweet of a bribe. He doesn't likely have access to the things some of the other inmates referenced did (i.e.: thousands of dollars, gift cards, lakers tickets). So hopefully no one will be taking bribes from him, as it seems he has little to nothing of 'value' to offer. All JMO

I feel icky about the footage having been put on the internet, since it depicts child abuse. Even with the boy blurred out. I understand having to show something like this in court, but I feel like putting it out there is exploitative.

And also one year probation. Ugh. "Now don't kiss anymore kids, alright?" essentially. Please let that have been all of it :(
