They probably didn't even know about him. Her father said she never shared anything with them.

Did someone else on the thread bring up that Jodi might have gone into a murderous rage because Travis might have called her mother. The thought is intriguing because the "you are the worst thing that ever happened to me" text Travis sent her included something to the effect that he was going to tell her mother.

I think that would be a powerful visual in rebuttal. JM needs to show the jury (with a calendar) what a short-lived relationship this was. From the moment they meet to his death, their "official" relationship was a mere 4-5 months, approx 1/2 of which were long distance.

This was not a serious relationship. Yes, they did go on a few trips together, but so what? Big whoop. People who date go on trips all the time, even HS kids. ALV makes it sound like he was practically putting a ring on her. Puh-leeze.

I'm sick of hearing about the "honeymoon period"; the "loving respite", the "learned helplessness", the blahblahblahblah.

They were friends with benefits...and maybe not even friends. WHAT IS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT??????

People get dumped/jilted/discarded from relationships of many years standing, and they get out of bed every day and carry on, even though
their hearts have been broken. They lose their family group, custody of their children, which causes the greatest anguish.
I hope JM will place this tawdry short term relationship into its correct perspective when he gets hold of ALV.
 
This is my first post and I may have missed something - how long between the deed and her arrest? It seems to me that these journal entries could have been fabricated easily in that time. She certainly is smart enough to make up entries to support her and 600 pages in that loopy big writing wouldn't be a huge amount of time. Her journal reads like a gothic romance - this is not the way real life unfolds. I agree it may have been plagorized - directly from Harlequin!
Just my opinion - for what it is worth.
 
So let me get this correct....Jodi's mom goes to Mesa to help Jodi move her things back home to Yreka from Rachel's...wouldn't you all (if you are a Mom) follow her and the U-Haul? I would and have, so we have Jodi's Mom saying in police interview she had never seen a pic---never mind meeting him---of Travis!
Jodi manipulated her Mom into leaving, imho, so she could manipulate Travis into giving her however much time she could mooch or in Jodi's mind, months!...after she manipulated Mom outta cash and packing for her. Is this when the car got damaged on the U-Haul? In testimony, one is led to believe that Travis and Jodi's Mom might have been acquainted....not! Just like Jodi and Travis' family, which she inappropriately treats as such.

I don't think she'd have the opportunity to touch the journals after arrest as I'm sure they were copied before being given to the defense as discovery. Did she start a new journal every year? Its possible she was writing more negative stuff in 2008 as her frustration with not winning over Travis was escalating.

I agree with you SuperTmo that everything she wrote was just strangely delusional at times. Like a script for what she wanted things to be like.

She had about 6 weeks between the killing and her arrest. Since she didn't seem to be working she had plenty of time to remove, rewrite and revise. I know know what she wrote in but I can see her buying the exact same thing and writing a whole new journal that makes it look like she would be the last person to kill Travis. I also believe she began thinking of killing Travis for a long time and most likely at that point realized that she could use the journals to prove she didn't have a problem with him.

I caught that too.

The other thing I caught a few times between yesterday and today was JW saying "relationship" and then correcting herself with "abusive relationship". This was when we were still hearing about normal ups and downs within a relationship that ALV said was abusive.

They knew they would finish too early and Jaun would have the last word before the weekend..... That's all I got...... Just saw the pictures of Travis' funeral on HLN. Seeing Travis' casket was very sobering. Despite all this crazy talk by so many "Experts"...In the end he is gone from this world forever, murdered so coldly, never getting the chance to reach his full potential, get married as he so wished, had a family of his own to right the wrongs of his childhood.

Perspective...

Travis is not here bc of a heartless murderer. The punishment (LWOP or DP) I feel will not change anything, but maybe if she were to have the same fate as Travis - 27 stabs, slit throat, shot in the head, left to decompose alone in her shower....maybe justice would really be served.

So sad.

LambChop on an earlier thread you said ALV was under subpoena. I think someone responded you were wrong that she wouldn't be under subpoena. I believed you were right.

So I went back and watched Mr. Dorkun(sp?) the computer forensics expert for the defense and Juan made a point to have the judge remind him he was still under subpoena and subject to recall.
 
Why does the DT keep talking about Travis' financial problems? My feelings are so what if he had money problems (we all do at some point in life) and maybe Travis' money problems were from Jodi hacking into his bank accounts (Mimi testified to this) and taking money out of his account.
