What on earth happened to whoop audio? Sounds like a horror movie!!

Ah they just apologized. Slow motion audio.

I thought it was maybe my wildaboutrial livestream slowing it down so closed it. At least I know it wasn't my computer now :D

Mr Lin is up to pg 11. Anyone have any idea how many total pages in his report?

Even June looks as though her patience is being tried with this...

Such riveting testimony...................

subpoint..........

I get the feeling Nel is going to destroy this guy's testimony by simply stating that there have been two new houses built since so all his efforts to be accurate and technical will have been wasted.

We are being told, point by sub point, about windows open and closed, ground conditions, average order of sound source 'inhumation'?? etc.

But it is no good me even trying to list what is being said because nothing is being interpreted for non-experts, as far as I can make out. You would have to know what these measurements mean, to draw any conclusion. I don't even know wht the 'dd' measurement he keeps talking about is.

#OscarTrial Lin’s evidence is quite technical. Hopefully he has a section explaining in simple terms what this all means. BB

....we're not the only ones

This is making me really cross with Roux. What is he trying to achieve with this witness?

I don't believe there is a single person in court who knows what Mr Lin is telling us, apart from Mr Lin.

I hope Nel asks him if he took rattling keys into consideration as OP never heard those.

Well if the defence calls enough of them, one of them is likely to be beneficial. Don't think he quite cancels out Roger Dixon though, or the psychologist who spent a day or two with him and whose findings have now been significantly downgraded by the psych report. Even Kelly Phelps had to admit that, through somewhat gritted teeth.

Did I miss something? Dr V only said "may be" her GAD diagnosis could have affected Op's ability to act in accordance with his knowledge of wrongfulness not that it would, as per DrV's words quoted in this article here in today's Guardian which quotes as follows:

"Vorster, a defence witness, told the court: "He certainly was able to appreciate the difference between right and wrong, but it may be that his ability to act in accordance with such appreciation was affected by this generalised anxiety disorder."

So, I am not sure just because it has been determined that GAD didn't affect OP's ability to appreciate wrongfulness that night, the only finding disclosed of the report so far, not surprisingly since it was the only thing relative to the order, that the GAD or PTSD diagnosis has been "significantly downgraded". And if I understood correctly, both Nel and Roux said something about parts of the report would be disputed in testimony or final arguments or something... or not?

IMHO he is saying DB. DB = decibels....loudness level. DBA = A weighted Decibels zzzzzzz see here http://whatis.techtarget.com/definition/A-weighted-decibels-dBA-or-dBa-or-dBa

Some of these measurements sound backwards to me... larger numbers heard further away and between obstructions than smaller numbers heard from closer and more direct locations.. I'm lost.

Very dry facts about DB (decibel) levels of sound with windows open/closed. On the balcony, etc...

The black-haired woman nxt to Aimee looks entranced by this testimony though....

Why is Roux just now bringing up the missing extension cord?? Smh
Ugh!!

I was wondering why Nel would mention it during his XE of OP if he knew it was missing and wouldn't be able to prove it was too short !!

#OscarTrial Lin has constructed various scenarios and applied scientific models to how the sound would be affected. BB

A-weighted decibels, abbreviated dBA, or dBa, or dB(a), are an expression of the relative loudness of sounds in air as perceived by the human ear. In the A-weighted system, the decibel values of sounds at low frequencies are reduced, compared with unweighted decibels, in which no correction is made for audio frequency. This correction is made because the human ear is less sensitive at low audio frequencies, especially below 1000 Hz, than at high audio frequencies.
