In the meantime, I will help you write some letters to those people mentioned above so you can have them ready to go. : )

You're an angel, thanks so much for helping missie. You too kelly. Hi Missiemt. Just checking in again. I so wish there was something else I can do. I do what was in my power and authority I prayed for answers, they will come one day. And in just the right season too, I believe that.

Thank you SS for helping-I appreciate it!
I never thought of calling them myself Kelly. I assumed that since they wouldn't let me put her on there that they wouldn't share info with me either.
Kool Look-continue to prey, it is working, we are getting answers slowly!

If the first letter isn't exactly what you want...pm me with the thoughts you wish to be stated so I can put a letter together that reflects EXACTLY what you want to say and accomplish! The first one is simply a rough draft and we can go from there. : )

I have never heard of a case wherein there is a NCMEC case number, but they don't have a poster up for the person. I am not 100% convinced there is a case for her there. Once there is, a case manager is assigned , and you can talk to that person, absolutely!

Let me know what happens with this. I have numerous higher up contacts within NCMEC that can assist if there are any problems for you.

Let's find out first if she indeed does have a case with them, and if so, why it's not on the site.

Thanks for the info Kelly. I think I'm going to contact the doe network and see what they say-since the NCMEC number is on their site. I wonder who put it on there. Does anyone know-can anyone submit new info about a case to the Doe Network, and do they verify all of it?

Checking in, Missie, I don't know about your questions. Give them a call.
It surely won't hurt anything. All they can do is tell you no, maybe re-direct you, etc... We do need her poster up at these sites. Ask them what will it take to get a poster up. She is a missing person with her whereabouts un-determined and un-explained. She also was a minor with suspicious circumstances surrounding the last several years of her life leading up to her mysterious end of contact with any known persons. Also suspicious events concerning (authority: principal, teachers, doctors, pastor, etc... and care takers) of Deanna the few years leading up to her disappearance.

Have you talked with your grandmother again lately to check in with her? I think by doing so, you can help her remain passionate about her own personal search too for Deanna. Which could in turn trigger maybe the most smallest of detail that could help. Including your sister too that lives in another state that was closest to Deanna.

Call the sgt. you've been waiting on. Did you get the records or copies from social services surrounding your families case? There even could be an unknown case file concerning your family you may not have ever been aware of. Normally, if there's been one filing, there's normally more. I would also try to personally contact the principal of her school at the time, and the school secretary who would be responsible for filing the paperwork either way concerning Deanna, no matter what circumstances of her leaving or moving that particular school. She may have information or rumor of Deanna's next destination concerning her schooling or yours, the other sister.

I would also continue to periodically call the step father. Time is your friend, and age mellows out people, and when their time gets nearer to pass from this world to another, they begin to re-think decisions they've made in their life, and want to right the wrongs. I just really feel he knows something that could be helpful he hasn't shared. If not the bomb.

I pray some mysteries are revealed concerning Deanna. Amen!

Thank you Kool Look for al of the great suggestions.
I do not/ can not/ and will absolutely not talk to our Stepfather. I haven't talked to him in well over a year and he will never again hear words from my mouth unless I am on a witness stand in a court room.
I'm not trying to sound harsh towards you-but I want everyone to know that that is not an option.
Bekki was able to see the records from CPS and we have talked and the only thing there is from the year before which we already knew about. I have contacted the schools, but they do not have records from that far back. Deanna spoke up about the abuse in the summer, with our Grandma.
I haven't talked to our Grandma. Things are very complicated with our relationship. She used to tell me things about our Stepdad that I didn't want to believe ( this was when I was 12) so I never talked to her again. Now I know there was wisdom in her words, and I want to talk to her about it but I want to wait until we can have a face to face talk. There are things we need to discuss that can't be said over the phone, imo.

Hi MissieMT!!
You've been in my thoughts so much...I've been out of touch here for awhile, but I'll try not to let it go so long again. :blushing: I just wanted to say how glad I am that Bekki was able to submit her DNA...I can't emphasize enough how impt. that is, and would still encourage you to submit yours. I know it is not easy to get together w/ Sgt. D, but when you can...don't think that just bec. Bekki did, it's done. It's always better to have more than one familial reference. And as of now, there is no backlog on Familial Refnc's., so they should be able to get her profile in the system right away!

warmly,

wow sloane-that's great news about there not being a backlog, I've been telling everyone (and myself) that it would probably take 6 months to a year just to get ehr in there, just so I wouldn't get impatient!

Sgt. Davis has emailed us twice in the past 2 days asking us questions-so I know he's working on the case right now. I'm still waiting for him to answer my question about the Ncmec though....

Good to know he's putting time on it. I heard recently from someone who used to work in that general area in LE (but not in Killeen PD) that staff at KPD rarely stay past one year! I don't know if it is just the transitory nature of an "Army-city" or what other challenges are in LE there, but it was interesting to hear him say that, having worked there (nearby) himself for many years...so...kudos to Sgt. D!
Thinking of you, Missie,

Did you send that letter to the Mayor's office? I just wondered if Sgt. Davis was "getting busy" due to that inquiry. Glad to know he is doing something tho!

I did send the letter-no reply thus far. I think Sgt.Davis said he had been there 6 or 7 years. I would not be surprised if what your friend said was true Sloane. Killeen, unfortunately, is not a nice place imo. I might be jaded, but there is SOOO much crime there-and its getting worse every year. Seems like no one respects LE there. There is a big problem with drugs, gangs, all that junk there. SadieMae might disagree though-she lives there and probably deals with the nicer side of it.

Awww Gina-thats great!!! Thank you so much-you did a wonderful job!!!

Hi Missie!
It's good of you to prepare yourself to wait, in general! Lol! This sort of ordeal that your family is going through DOES take so much patience. We can only imagine...But at least this small part of it (Bekki's DNA submission) should be right on track. Once they get her profile from her swab put into the Familial Refnc's. database, it will be checked right away against all the current UIDs in the databases that this particular lab has access to (which are many). If there is no "hit," then that means you are looking at two possibilities: One, Deanna is still alive somewhere, or two, (sorry to be so blunt, but you said blunt was okay), that Deanna has not been discovered yet, or if she has, her DNA has not been submitted.

May I say one more time how brave I think you are and how impressed I am at how maturely you are handling all of this!!
I hope our good thoughts for you help to give you strength.

warmly,

I have to agree with you. It's nothing like when I first came here...mainly because there was NOTHING here except a small Walmart and a rinky dink mall. Besides fast food places the only chain restaurants were Denny's and Red Lobster. I do deal with the nicer side, but I know quite a bit about the ugly in Killeen too. I rarely go north on hwy 190.

Thank you very much for the compliment Sloane-you are too kind. Sometimes I get SO frustrated and impatient-but I remind myself that it has been 17 years already so I shouldn't expect an answer over night!

SadieMae, how long have you been there? It has REALLY boomed there in the past ten years, I've been gone for 8.
