Now this makes me really angry. The dog has committed no crime and is unable to care for itself. I am furious!:mad:

Angry with me????? I'm sorry, I meant no offense. Really, I'm a dog person & have had one or more ever since I was 3 years old. I'm now almost 77 years old. My dogs are my children. I hope some nice family found him & is caring for him. We can hope that he is safe, but I still wouldn't want to be in his position because I believe in pampered dogs at all times.

Well Tonya will be getting off the plane any minute and it looks like she gets to be escorted, walk off the plane and right into the black SUV waiting for her.

Darn. I was looking forward to her being humiliated walking through her home State's airport in cuffs with the public gawking at her just like what happened at LAX. oh well. I wonder how long until she gets to bail out?

Tarrant County sheriff Dee Anderson is expected to hold a news conference once Tonya Couch is booked into the jail.

Later this afternoon, she is due to appear in front of a judge who will decide whether or not she should be released on bail, set at $1 million, the sheriff’s office said.

If released on bond, she will be tracked by a GPS monitor. The judge overseeing her case can add more conditions, too.

I've been watching her return, supposedly live, on nbcdfw.com. They sure are taking the long way from DFW to downtown Fort Worth. I suppose they have their reasons. She'll probably go home tonight:sick:

I expect so.

Booking can take some time, as can the contractor who sets up the electronic monitoring device. No doubt the surety and the bonding company have been prearranged by her attorney.

Photo at @NBCDFW inside the jail that shows her nice and shiny ankle "bracelets."

I think Sheriff Anderson is in the same photo personally escorting her into the facility.

The harshest penalty this murderously spoiled brat will face upon return to the States is 120 days? How can this be? :banghead:

The infinitely co-dependent relationship between ec and mommy continues on, beyond borders  . So IF she's given prison time, maybe then he might get the message?

But that would require his daddy growing a :censored:

So. Yeah. Umm.
:cow:

:furious:

It appears she then boarded a white van owned by the sheriff’s office — with the sheriff himself riding shotgun — for the drive to the jail.

Anderson is expected to hold a news conference once Tonya Couch is booked into the jail.

the hearing might not happen until Friday morning, according to the office of the judge overseeing the case.

There's a couple videos at the link also.

Video from youtube of her arriving at the Tarrant County Jail.

I don't understand why the dad will probably bail her out? Why? She's his EX wife why would he want to put his financial life on the line for her anymore?

Looks like she will be out of jail this afternoon. If not, then tomorrow morning, and thats probably as much time as she is going to do for this little shenanigan.

It kind of makes one wonder what she may have on dad...

I read an article the other day that Fred C said it was a mistake from the start when they got married. It would be a hoot if she doesn't make bail but who knows?

The last quote from the hotel manager is darkly humorous:

“I learned a hard lesson,” Meza said. “I need to insist on their IDs. I need to follow my instincts because I just felt something wasn’t completely right, as normal as everything seemed.”

A mom and son traveling together with no reservations at Christmas time, wouldn't identify themselves, paid in cash, and oh, they're traveling with a wolf.

Interesting, but I'm holding a "wait and see" position.

When looking at our DFW local websites I suggest that you also look in the comments section to see what other people are saying about this case. Some are even claiming that Sheriff Anderson is using this case as publicity since he is running for re-election this year. I have no opinion on that, but it looks to me like this story is going to have lots of publicity regardless. After all, it's not every day that a spoiled brat gets away with killing 4 people & then running from the law with his maw.

So this information about all these "priors" was not available to the judge?

I don't agree with Ethan's sentence. But it's not like the judge wasn't using any logic whatsoever when she sentenced him, or that this is clear evidence that she was paid off. In Texas, when dealing with minors, the courts tend to lean towards rehabilitation rather than punishment. Ethan's crime was nevertheless an unitentional event not committed while also committing felony theft. The judge apparently felt there was a chance of him turning him around. Clearly she was wrong. And the other kid didn't end up serving much of his original sentence, and ended up right back in trouble as well. Seems they are both lost causes.

If they put him (and his mom) in jail and threw away the key, it wouldn't bother me one damn bit. Especially with regard to the mom, because I think she and Pops are the ones who deserve the most blame for ruining this kid.
Good Post.

One of my biggest fears in life is messing up my sons. How my and their dads decisions have affected them.

Wonder how these so called Couch parents thought their son would turn into a productive adult. Or did they not care? Odd.

Blows my mind.

I've been really curious about their intentions too. As hard as it is to watch your kids suffer consequences and feedback for their actions, you have to let it happen and almost all parents know that. You try to protect them some, but you don't completely insulate them from negative feedback, which seems to be what this woman did to her son. A lot of parents are inconsistent with punishment, but honestly, she seems like she has purposely made it to where he can't even discern from parental reactions if he's done anything questionable or wrong, like spending all that money at a strip club while on the lam.

So I'm reminded of this mom I knew when my kids were in preschool. A bunch of neighbors were in a playgroup, and she set up a playgroup where she bought expensive curriculum/learning toys, had a fabulous back yard to play in, and she'd host every single week at her expense. The only catch was, her son was to be treated as royalty and there would be no negative feedback (which she called bullying) of him. Other kids were to defer always to his wishes and never negotiate disagreements. There was nothing wrong with him - it's not like he was a child with a disability or disfigurement and she was trying to give him a positive experience. After about 2 weeks the rest of us begged out of it - it was bizarre. The kid was nice enough, it seemed, but HOW BIZARRE for this mom to create a false world for him where he was free to behave any way and not get feedback. I wonder where he is now.
