You are probably thinking of TikTok. I’m betting he used twitch and discord as well.

I had looked into the crime rate in Luling and then researched two murders and discovered two cousins were shot by a guy from Austin probably on meth. (Not sure why he was in Luling)Austin man charged in Caldwell Co. double homicide | kvue.com

Then that led to looking up drugs in Luling. It seems to me there might be a problem with Meth in the small town of under 6k people. From this FBI operation, two from the Texas Syndicate gang linked to the Mexican Cartel were indicted and lived in Luling in the first linked article, and another in the second article. https://www.justice.gov/usao-wdtx/pr/17-texas-syndicate-members-and-associates-arrested-based-federal-indictment-alleging

Makes me wonder if Jason happened across the wrong people.

I hope i am remembering correctly when i say that we don’t know if his parents knew he was en route.

the 2am wake up call may have been their first indication he was on his way?

i still don’t understand why the alarm wasn’t raised by the parents to LE that he was in danger if he wasn’t with the car? UGH. maybe they were in shock or LE didn’t listen, or LE convinced them he would be nearby and found?
i don’t want to be suspicious, so i will throw my shade at LE being *advertiser censored*.

Maybe he wasn't alone in car? Sorry if stupid question.

there's nothing reported to indicate that another person was in the car. It was Jason's car (at least, the one he drove to school). The car was crashed. LE found some blood, some of his clothing, his wallet, and phone. If there was a second person there it surely would have been mentioned by now.

I wonder how many times he has driven home from school bc if its been quite a few times then how do you get lost. I'm curious bc nowadays this generation has it easy with directions on their phone and back in my day I had a map to help me get to school.

I was more searching for clues as to where he might be currently, if alive. That's why it yielded zero to me.
Kinda typical college kids twitter...
But he was no slave to social media, posted irregularly from what I can see and nothing personal
Respectfully bolded by me...love your "no slave to social media" point...neither of my grandsons (ages 18 and 16) use Facebook anymore so if you were sleuthing them, you'd have a hard time trying to figure out who their friends were and what they are like in real life. Neither of them want their private life blasted out on social media. I had to give my solemn oath I would never post any current photos of them on my own Facebook page, even though I rarely get on Facebook anymore. Jason and his friends may not use Facebook much either.

Maybe I'm still just trying to read between the lines or isolate parts of quotes but....I'm still hung up on "credible and sufficient information...."

That didn't ring any alarm bells for me. The entire quote was "Texas EquuSearch is suspending our search operations for Jason until law enforcement investigators obtain credible, and sufficient information that would lead our team into a more specific area to search."

To ME that means that EquuSearch simply wants credible and sufficient information so as not to waste their time and resources with every tip that comes in as a lot of tips received don't amount to much. LE decides what's 'credible' and would then pass the credible info along to EquuSearch, and not waste their time with the other stuff. All IMHO of course.

I don’t know it says to me depressed. You always need to look at someone’s “likes” to see more of their story. I see likes for girls, weed, depression type posts, and gaming. His last activity was a “like” on 12-10.

ETA-I also notice when he tweets he usually get 0 likes and 0 comments. Last one with a comment was from 2019. Concerned he may not have many friends in real life, just in gaming.
I wouldn’t read too much into his Twitter. People his age don’t really use it. My similar age kids technically have a Twitter & FB, but if you looked at them you would think they have no friends at all! Not true.

Good point! My kids are all in college also. The don't use Facebook

What apps are popular with the college age group?
I could be way off, but I think Snap Chat, Discord, Tik Tok and maybe Instagram. I believe Facebook has become more for the "older generation". My kids have told me that if you aren't friends with someone on Facebook you can't necessarily see everything someone is posting. So it may look like someone hasn't posted anything since last year, but they have, just not everyone can see it.

Here's the thing though. Almost all kids that age have fake names on their accounts so not just anyone can find them. My kids, age 19-21, all hav Insta, Twitter, Snap and all with fake names so nothing can ever be tied back to them.

I would hope that if this is the case with Jason, and that close friends may have been privy to it, they would have disclosed this info to authorities since Jason went missing without explanation. Maybe?

It seems to me that if Jason had accidentally missed the turn and found himself on a road that turned into gravel he would have slowed down and would have been looking for a driveway or place to turn around and double back. Instead, the car was traveling a relatively high rate of speed so that he lost control, slid and hit a tree. That makes no common sense to me. If you find yourself on an unfamiliar gravel road, why would you be going faster instead of slower? MOO MOO MOO

Same here. It doesn’t make sense to travel for a while on a dark, gravel road further into the country when you’re supposed to be going through a town center to connect to an interstate highway. You would know right away you’re going the wrong way. Definitely no IH10 that way. It is obvious. This has stuck with me from the beginning.

We don't know exactly when they realized he was missing, but the search in the area began very quickly. In the Dec. 17th post from the Facebook page of Southminster Presbyterian Church (the dad's church), they say that the county judge loaned the dad his personal RV to sleep in the search area.
