This is a story that isn’t going to hold up over time, and through extensive questioning.

No doubt LE has been collecting and reviewing lots and lots of cctv footage, around that mall, and along the highway. At some point they will have some answers, and I think they will be asking some very hard questions soon.

Update #1

Friday, May 3

  • DV was driving a silver 2011 Nissan Altima with TX paper tags 3092G9 to IAH with Maleah and her 2-year-old brother to pick up Maleah’s mother, who was returning from her father's funeral in MA.
  • DV heard a popping noise and pulled over, when a blue Chevrolet pickup w/crew cab, possibly a 2010, pulled behind him and two Hispanic males got out. One of them made a comment that Maleah looks very nice, looks very sweet. The other male hit DV on the head and he lost consciousness.
  • Maleah’s mother called her mother, BB, to come and get her, but never reported DV and the children missing.
  • DV was in and out of consciousness, but at one point he was in the back of the suspects' truck with his son and Maleah and then there were three suspects in the vehicle driving them around.
  • Maleah was last seen approx 8 p.m. per the Amber Alert.
Saturday, May 4
  • Maleah's mother tells ABC13 Eyewitness News they called police Saturday morning to file a report because they were concerned after not hearing from DV, but detective clearly stated no report was filed.
  • 2:54 p.m. - The Nissan Altima was seen on a traffic camera near Hwy 59 & State Hwy 6 in Sugar Land.
  • 6 p.m. DV woke up on the side of the SW Freeway near SH 6 in Sugar Land, about 22 miles SW of Houston - near First Colony Mall. His son was with him and he wandered around for four or five hours trying to summon help. He walked with his son to Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. (.4 miles from the mall) Google Maps
  • 10 or 11 p.m. – They arrived at the hospital, DV was treated for a head injury and police were called.
Sunday, May 5
  • Amber Alert was issued Have you seen this child? Maleah Davis
  • Amber Alert was updated – Meleah is 4 years old
  • Houston PD press conference
  • Flyers distributed and Oyster Creek Park at Highway 6 and I-59 was searched by volunteers
Monday, May 6
  • Texas Equusearch announced its volunteers will join the search starting at 10:30 a.m. They are meeting at the Eastex Freeway and Greens Road and say they need volunteers on foot and ATVs.

Neither of those 2 tires appear to be temporary. Does this particular vehicle come with a full size spare? Doubtful but maybe.

According to this, nope. Nissan Altima Owners Manual: Wheels and tires - Specifications - Technical and consumer information (with actual sizing chart)

And Nissan Altima Owners Manual: Changing a flat tire - Flat tire - In case of emergency :

"The spare tire is designed for emergency use. See specific instructions under the heading “Wheels and tires” in the “Maintenance and do-it-yourself” section of this manual."

I am so happy that Equusearch is involved now.

Interesting that they are starting the search where the stepfather said he had pulled over, and she was abducted from the Nissan.

Tim must not believe SD's whole story, because according to SD, the abductors took all of them away from that area and drove them all around for awhile, ending up in Sugarland. So if the search is starting back at the point the Nissan pulled over, Tim is using his logic and his brain, imo.

Now is the time to call in that "special division of LE." The one who "questions" the parents/boyfriends/girlfriends/last person seen with a missing child. These officers are specially trained to question these "specific caretakers" while there still may be time to find the missing child alive.

WHAT! No such team exists! They need to organize these specialists as this type of crime is increasing on a daily basis, seemingly.

All this is MOO, JMO. It's just heartbreaking that the little one's can't help themselves and some caretakers won't.

No, perps drove off in Chevy PU, supposedly Nissan left at abduction scene. Nissan supposedly stolen and caught on camera Sat. around 2:45, didnt appear to have flat tire.

Of course I don’t believe the story anyway, BUT I don’t think he was saying the tire was definitely flat. He said he heard a popping noise like the tire was flat so that’s why he stopped to check.

It is rather odd that only the little two? year old was with daddy and Maleah. The older child was with other relatives? Of course, a two year old cannot talk much, and an older child could. Things that make you go hmmm. MOO.

I hope they can find some video of that car from the day of disappearance. I also hope they can tell if there are two children in that car. It would be easy to take two sleeping children for a ride the night before and return home with only one...??? Why do I get the feeling a lot of planning may have gone into this disappearance? MOO.

The other child was with his father which, to me, makes sense. Mom had to go out of town so he went to spend time with his father. What this child can say is if he saw Maleah on the day he went to his father's house.

Have we heard from Maleah's father? Curious to hear what the paternal family thinks of everything if they are part of her life.

Maleah's father has been cooperative with LE, he talked to them.

I am glad to hear TXEQ is involved also. I was looking at the map last night and about a 1/2 mile north of Greens Road, via the Hwy 69 access road, there's what looks like access to the Reinhardt Bayou. It stood out to me as a potential search area. Google Maps

I lived in Houston for 25 years. I've lived in every single part of that town that this case has found itself in. My mother still lives there and I will tell you, she has no idea this child is missing because the news isn't being heavily covered locally and the amber alert signs on EVERY SINGLE 6 plus lane freeway there haven't even been turned on. That said, I don't think we are the only ones who smell something rotten. This isn't their first rodeo, LE knows....

As someone very familiar with the area, I will add the following notes (since I don't have much else I can say right now on this thread and not violate TOS).

- Sugarland is considered an area where money lives. Upper class residents with upper class security cameras.
- The mall he presumably passed on his way to the hospital has police detail parked there every weekend. Many of them ride around the area since the mall and the parking lots are sooooo huge. ESPECIALLY on a high shopping weekend like the weekend before Mother's Day.
- MOST of this mall is considered an outdoor mall. Meaning, it's not your traditional mall, where you go in and you walk down a huge hallway and you have stores on the inside. It's more of an outlet mall, where the stores all face the street or parking lot. If it was raining, I could see no one being on the walk way. If it wasn't, it would have been very very busy on a weekend. Even if it was raining, any of those stores would have been a good safe refuge for a man with a baby in need of help.
- For you guys looking at the map and not privy to local speak, HWY 59 and HWY 69 are the same thing. When someone says 59 South, they are usually referencing the south side of 59 by Sugarland. When someone says 59 North, they are referencing the north side of 59 by Humble.
- The intersection where the car jacking allegedly took place is not as busy as any of us would like. The HIGHWAY, yes. Greens Rd, not so much. It's a back road I would drive a LOT since I lived in Greenspoint (Greens Rd and 45) and worked in Humble and wasn't about "that toll road life".
- Crime in the area where the car jacking allegedly took place is pretty high.
- Him being at that intersection doesn't make any sense. My route from Sugarland to BUSH would have been (avoiding tolls) 59 South > 610 Loop > 45 > Greens Rd > Left on JFK *OR* 59 South > 610 Loop > 59 North > Exit Will Clayton. It makes NO sense that he was either on Greens Rd that far past the airport or had turned onto Greens Rd from the highway (going under the overpass) with a flat tire or whatever was wrong with his car. The ONLY way this would make sense is if he did exit 59 North early, because something was indeed wrong with the car he was driving. However, that would put him on the feeder road of 59 and not on desolate Greens Rd. THIS DOESN'T MAKE SENSE to someone who drove this route A LOT.

I hope they find this baby, but my gut isn't hopeful.

Thank you for the great details!

The route didn’t make sense to me either.
