"The Fort Hood Army base has launched an investigation into missing soldier Vanessa Guillen’s allegations that a sergeant sexually harassed her, nearly two months after she disappeared.

Concern over Private First-Class Guillen’s whereabouts are growing after she vanished without a trace, last seen in the parking lot of her regimental engineer squadron headquarters at the Killeen, Texas base on April 22 around 1pm.

On Thursday Col. Ralph Overland, the commander of the 3rd Cavalry Regiment, appointed a team to perform a standard investigation called an 'AR 15-6 investigation' into Guillen’s harassment allegations.

'I opened an investigation concerning the information provided by the Guillen Family that Pfc. Vanessa Guillen was harassed prior to her disappearance,' he said.

'I take allegations of sexual harassment very seriously and we are conducting a thorough investigation,' he added.

Overland declared the regiment 'will not stop until we find her."

Fort Hood officials have renewed their plea for the return of Vanessa Guillen, who's been missing since April, after the skeletal remains of a different soldier who disappeared from the same Texas Army base nearly a year ago were discovered last week.

A recent tip has led investigators to Leon River in Bell County, the Houston Chronicle reported Monday, citing the founder of Texas EquuSearch, a non-profit search-and-rescue organization assisting multiple law enforcement agencies in their efforts to find Guillen.

In a video message Sunday, Fort Hood Deputy Commander Major General Scott Efflandt pleaded for any information about Guillen’s whereabouts.

"We want to bring Vanessa home as efficiently and as rapidly as possible. And towards that end, I'm asking for your assistance," Efflandt said. "more at link

"The Army is now convinced there was “foul play” involved in the two-month-old disappearance of Fort Hood Soldier Vanessa Guillen, Rep. Sylvia García, D-Texas, said Tuesday."

"Khawam said the family shared with military officials that Guillen had told them as well as friends that a sergeant had followed her into a shower while she was naked.

“We suspect that person was her supervisor the same day after she was missing,” the attorney said."

Search continues for missing Fort Hood soldier

Days after searching a local river, Texas EquuSearch continued their efforts in the search for Vanessa Guillen.

Tim Miller and volunteers with Texas EquuSearch spent the day searching a neighborhood near 439 and Sparta Road in Bell County. They also passed out missing persons posters to homeowners.

“We use horses, ATVs, we use drone airplanes, sonars and foot searchers. Whatever is needed,” said founder Tim Miller.

“I think we found some things and they’re doing some testing on some things. If it has anything to do with it our not, I don’t know. We were all pretty optimistic on it. We won’t know for sure until results come back from the lab,” Miller said.

As far as the search on Wednesday, he says there was “nothing new.”

“Yes, there is a reason we have been every place we have been,” he added.

IMO Wouldn't it be interesting if the person or persons who took Vanessa, purposely drove to the Lake Belton area, let her phone ping, then placed her in a location in the opposite direction.
