I'd think they would have needed some kind of extra info source in order to locate, but why no arrests, warrants, people of interest?

Vanessa Melson from Grapeland (Near Palestine) was murdered two years ago and nobody has been charged with her murder. Other charges were filed but no murder charges yet. I have not read or heard any updates in quite a while. Her body was found in a shallow grave due to a tipster.

In Ricki Taylor's case I wonder if LE already knows who murdered her and are just getting their ducks in a row before the arrest. That is the only thing I can come up with as to why no news on her murder.

Has this been posted? Gives location of where she was found as County Road 2120.

Police continue to search for answers in the death of a 46-year-old Palestine woman who was shot in the head last week.

Palestine police found the body of Ricki Deann Taylor Friday night on County Road 2120 in Houston County.

Feb '17 was the latest update I've found, still no official charges.

Since you're local, did you hear about this story? It happened prior to Ricki going missing.

PALESTINE, TX (KLTV) - Palestine police are investigating a reported disturbance where a woman was apparently struck by a pickup, then forced to get inside.

Around 1:35 a.m. Wednesday, police were called to the intersection of West Palestine Avenue and Esplanade Street.

According to a news release, witnesses reported seeing a while female exit a red late model extended-cab pickup. The woman appeared to be intentionally struck by the truck.

When the witnesses approached the vehicle, the driver, a white male, got out and pulled a gun, the release stated.

The driver ordered the woman to get back in the truck, which left the scene heading west on Palestine Avenue.

Officers were unable to locate the pickup.

A description of the man and woman in the truck was not released.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Palestine Police Department at (903) 729-2254. Anonymous tips may be submitted by texting PALPD, plus the information, to 847411.

Sounds like a domestic issue, certainly something to look into if potentially related

I'd think it could be very likely if it were someone that knew her that they have a good idea who it already is.

[h=1]Arrest reportedly made in Ricki Deann Taylor case[/h]
Palestine police have reportedly made an arrest in the murder case of Ricki Deann Taylor, the Herald-Press has learned. City officials would neither confirm nor deny the arrest.

However, the Anderson County Sheriff's Office confirmed Andrew Taylor's arrest for the murder.

City spokesman Nate Smith, contacted by the Herald-Press early Saturday morning, said the city would make an announcement later this morning.

More info on arrest: http://m.kltv.com/kltv/db_330566/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=tFedq7Rb

On Friday, June 23, Palestine Detectives located the body of Ricki Taylor, off of Houston County Road 2120. Detectives were able to determine that the murder took place on the night of June 21. An autopsy was performed in Dallas, where it was confirmed that Ricki died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

On June 30, Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Andrew Taylor. Andrew was taken into custody without incident at his home in the 1000 block of South Magnolia Street.

According to some research I have done, Andrew Taylor is the (former?) husband of Ricki. He is her children's father. They had a foreclosure a year or so ago. Bad feelings. Jealousy over current boyfriend? We will find out soon, I'm sure. Such a sad, sad situation. Why are good people murdered by those they love?

Andrew Glenn Taylor, 50, was arrested Friday night and is accused in the suspected murder of his ex-wife, Ricki Deann Taylor, who was reported missing on June 22 and found dea on Friday, June 23.

Andrew Glenn Taylor was taken by Police and booked into the Anderson County Jail, according to the press release. His bond has been set at $1 million.

That's very sad. Why?? What happened?? Couldn't let her go and live her life?

I thought that with the quick arrest, justice would be achieved quickly for Ricki and her family. Apparently not, according to this news article:

Still no charges in Taylor's murder

Andrew Glenn Taylor, Ricki's ex-husband, has not been indicted, and was released on a $50,000 bond.

Still nothing... His brother, Jeff Taylor, is a member of law enforcement. Not in Palestine, but has worked for a few near jurisdictions. He does NOT have the greatest of reputations. He ran for Anderson County Sheriff a few years ago (after Ricki was found murdered) and lost to Rudy Flores. I always thought it was super strange that NO-ONE ever brought any of this up during the election.
