Savanah Soto was terrorized by boyfriend before murder
From story " A Texas man who is believed to have murdered his partner on the day she was due to give birth was on probation for assaulting her last Christmas, court records show.
Texas police had been searching for Soto after she failed to show up at the hospital for her scheduled induced labor last week. They now believe she was murdered the day that day, shortly after Guerra picked her up in his car.

This is one of several stories I have been starting to see saying that MG killed Savanah and then himself.

Quick question-- Is Newsweek no longer news worthy? Just asking out of curiosity.
Newsweek is not providing a source in their article.

The San Antonio Express-News is stating

"The unborn baby also died, and police listed the case as capital murder. "

If it was murder-suicide, they would say it. "Capital murder" is a charging offense.

Was Savanah’s family aware of his past arrests? Or that he had previously harmed her?

Guerra's past arrest

Not much is known about Guerra, Soto's boyfriend. The CLEAR alert said at the time that Soto might be in immediate danger or that her disappearance was possibly involuntary.

Bexar County court records say that Guerra was granted probation in June of this year after he was arrested for assault bodily injury-married. Court records show that Guerra was later arrested in September for violating his probation. Investigative reporter Mariah Medina with News 4 San Antonio posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, that Guerra was arrested because he allegedly made contact with Soto.

SAN ANTONIO - New details are emerging about the relationship between a couple found dead in a vehicle Tuesday afternoon. Court records show Savana Soto's boyfriend, Matthew Guerra, was on probation for assaulting Soto on Christmas day in 2022.

San Antonio Police aren't ready to say what kind of case detectives have on their hands, much less who might be responsible for the deaths, but court records show Guerra was charged with assaulting Soto and was granted probation in that case. Probation was scheduled to end in June of 2024, but Guerra had picked up new charges that appear to be unrelated to the assault, including unlawful carry of a weapon, evading arrest in a vehicle and reckless driving, court documents show.

He was also charged with failing to comply with the Battering Intervention and Prevention Program the court had ordered him to attend as a result of his Christmas Day assault on Soto.

A later probation order issued in June 2023 allowed Guerra to have contact with Soto so long as it was not "harmful or injurious." The probation order banned Guerra from possessing firearms. The judge also extended the end of Guerra's probation from June 2024 to February 2025.

Mariah Medina, an investigative reporter with News 4 San Antonio, posted the documents on X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday.

San Antonio Police are leading the investigation into the couple's deaths. The Bexar County Medical Examiner will conduct autopsies to determine the cause and manner of their deaths.

So were they living in the same apartment with DV protection order or was he only intermittently living there? Was he paying her expenses? I don't see any mention of her having a job.

What does the “married” portion of the assault bloody injury-married mean?

I think the perp(s) wanted them found.
Yea. I dont think the killer/killers gave a crap about their bodies being discovered. If they did they would have put them somewhere rural and off the beaten track. Not in a parking lot of an apartment complex. I wonder if they even cleaned up after themselves? Like wiping down the steering wheel or door handles?

Assault Bodily Injury- Married What Does that Mean? - The Locke Law Group

What Is Meant by Married? Or Fam/Hou?

"In Texas, Domestic Violence occurs when violence is present between the actor and any member of their family, their household, a significant other or a spouse. For some reason, Bexar County will shorten this in their system to either Married or to Fam/Hou. What you are seeing when you see this is just a code, it is not a formal charge or an information (the document that brings you to court)."

IMO, the vehicle here does not appear to be "shot-up" in what I expect of the cartel. JMO

This is kind of Cartel-Soft.

We have only heard of the Matthew Guerra and Ethan Soto being involved in dealing with THC vapes. These two family groups, Guerra and Soto, seem to have been comfortable with the dealing of these vapes as a cash business. No mention or criminal records mention harder cartel stuff like meth, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, even ketamine or C2.
THC vapes are legal in many of states where marijuana products are legal, although there can be local rules on their sales ( no minors, etc). So it's not really in the major cartel stream.

MG and SS were photographed with him holding a large number of bills, that look like 20"s. Maybe hundreds of them, so there was certainly a decent amount of tax-free income coming into the economies of these folks.

So I don't think they were on major cartel radar at this point. SS's 15 year old brother was killed last year for stealing a few THC vapes from a dealer. Not like he stole kilos of coke or meth.
