I can't seem to find TJ in any missing persons databases. He needs to be in them JMHO.

Possible that this is the first time in months that anyone connected to the media has even bothered to check in with LE about new developments.
In cases of missing persons around T.J.'s age, there is always a possibility they just left on their own and is just hiding out. Once they've talked to everyone who may have known him and found no reason for him to disappear, they have to assume it was foul play. Could be they've uncovered some new information about a fight with someone. Wouldn't surprise me to find out they have some suspects in mind but just working to get enough evidence to charge somebody.

Foul play not ruled out in SHSU student disappearance

In contrast to recent reports, investigators say foul play has not been confirmed in the case of missing Sam Houston State University student Thomas "T.J." Murray, Jr.

According to Lieutenant Dan Norris of the Montgomery Police Department, while foul play has not been confirmed, it has not been discounted as a possibility in Murray’s disappearance.

So, so sad tonight.

As many of you have heard, the Murray's lost their 2nd youngest son, William, tonight. Please say a prayer for the Murray's through this difficult time.

Thank you.

Rest in Peace William Montgomery Murray. You will be missed dearly.

Oh this poor family...
I just read the comments on the page for TJ and saw my niece and nephew have "liked" that page...I knew they knew the family and TJ, wonder if they knew William as well...I can't believe the Murrays have to deal with so much sorrow.
ETA: According to my family, William drowned while on vacation with his family...how much tragedy can one family endure...

Nine months after a man disappeared without a trace, now his family is mourning his brother’s drowning death.

####

At the same time, they still need to know what happened to TJ. They want to know he walked out of a bar in Montgomery County and never came home.

“I wish someone would say something,” Murray said. “Every day I hope and pray.”

The family is offering a large cash reward for information leading to TJ’s whereabouts.

Lt. Bill Bucks with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes unit said his units responded to the location close to 9:30 a.m. Monday morning. At this time it is being handled as a dead body investigation. The victim had one gunshot wound to the head which they do not believe is self inflicted since there was no weapon found in the area.

This could be related or not. I don't know about too many more missing people in our county.

Oh, my!

Strange, though... if the body was just there on the ground, and they were able to determine a gunshot wound to the head, sounds like it may have been more recent. I would think if it was T.J., his body would have been too decomposed by now. However, I suppose they could see a bullet lying inside the skull, possibly marks indicating where it went in.

It could also be someone who was just passing through the area and he was robbed and killed. I would love to see some closure in this case, but it sounds too morbid to hope it was him.

Thanks for the link, and please let us know if there is any followup.

This one is definitely not sounding good. The Murray's deserve answers. I hope it will not be much longer that they must wait.

I hope this is TJ...I don't believe for a moment he is alive and just not going home. His family does not seem to believe that either.

Here is an image of where the bones were found--right smack dab in the middle of the Montgomery County (TX) Law Enforcement Center's cluster of buildings, and down (up?) the street at the bail bonding company.

What an odd place to put a body.

It is odd...I have a feeling this will turn out to be someone not even officially known to be missing.
