Found something: Right at the bottom of this press release http://www.jersey.police.uk/news-appeals/2015/december/adrian-lynch-search-so-far/

I don't know what to make of it!?

Maybe the police went to his family home (I believe he lived with his dad and stepmum just outside Selous) having found his wallet and phone. Then they'll have tried to check with his mum (St Helier) and some of his mates, before being able to officially file a missing persons report. Or maybe his parents did the checks and only notified police when they found no trace of him. Don't they have to be missing 24 hours before being filed anyway?

Him being reported missing late Saturday isn't an issue CMC. Just that the timeline the Jersey police posted yesterday states they found the mobile/wallet at 8:40 AM and the belt at 10:30 AM on Saturday morning (it doesn't state a later day)

For the mobile and wallet my thinking would be that they were handed into police by a nice person and logged and when Adrian was reported missing it flagged straight up.

But the belt is different. Who would hand in a random belt found outside to the police before a person is reported missing?

It does seem odd.
I suppose it's feasible that somebody discovered the belt dumped in their garden / on their land (do we know where it was found yet? I've missed it if we have) at 10:30am but didn't come forward with it until later after he was reported missing and the importance of it became apparent???

Yes, it does seem strange that multiple people apparently saw a disorientated young man between 12 and 2am, (including those who saw him knocking at doors, and those whose house he walked into) but didn't feel the need to intervene or contact police - yet a belt in a garden was reported to the police before anyone knew Adrian was missing?

If you were so concerned that someone had been in your garden and left a belt behind, that you contacted the police, then why weren't others concerned when he was on private property calling for someone, knocking at doors and actually entering a property?

Surely the timing re the handing in of the belt is incorrect for the belt, as it doesn't make any sense.

I just checked and apparently you DON'T have to wait 24 hours to report someone missing
http://missingpersons.police.uk/en/resources/report-a-missing-person

So yes, odd that the belt was reported to police at 10:30, unless, as someone else suggested, it was handed later once known Adrian was missing, but the homeowner confirmed they found it at 10:30.

I would have thought that when Adrian was reported missing, that the person who found the belt would then have reported it.

Sighting timeline.....

00:00 – Adrian is dropped off by a taxi at the junction of La Rue and Ruette D’Avranches

00:15 – Male seen looking unsteady on his feet by taxi passenger

00:15 – Seen by a driver leaning against a wall, then later lying in the road

00:20 – Seen speaking to driver

00:25 – Person spotted on a grassy bank in the area

00:35 – Second sighting of person in hedge

01:00 – Heard shouting in Rue de la Golarde, then seen by same person

01:10 – Seen by homeowner in Rue de la Golarde

01:35 – Seen by car driver near David Hicks

01:40 – Heard shouting by Bon Air Stables

01:50 – Spoken to homeowner in Le Clos de Devant

01:55 – Seen walking along La Fraide Rue

02:00 – Heard shouting in St Lawrence Main Road

02:09/2:17 – Seen on Thistle Grove CCTV

08:40 – Mobile phone and wallet found

10:30 – Belt found

So many questions about the Belt? I still can not believe after all those sightings of him reported the night he was last seen - that he still has not been found

Have read almost every post, and wish there could have been a speedy resolution to Adrian's case.

A hit and (take Adrian?) run scenario seems to be a viable idea, and a reason for a driver not to come forward--if his/her car has damage. How realistic is it to contact all car repair businesses? Of course, a damaged car could be garaged indefinitely, so has someone stopped driving their car recently?

I hope this is helpful regarding any confusion over when Adrian was first reported missing, or maybe it is more about the timing of the belt that people mean, but I found this anyway. I can't add links using my phone so took a screen shot.

That is weird, Zoomy. I went through ITV's News Twitter feed (on PC, not mobile) and can't find that tweet but I don't do Twitter and not sure if that makes a difference?

The earliest article on the ITV News website is timed and dated at 5:05 PM December 5th which is inline with what the SoJP stated in the press release I posted earlier in the thread (reported missing late Saturday) http://www.itv.com/news/channel/update/2015-12-05/jersey-police-search-for-missing-teenager/

I was thinking it was a time zone issue but that doesn't make sense either.

The belt is a bit of a mystery at this point to me because it has only been mentioned once or twice in passing. Probably for very good reasons that police aren't ready to divulge yet.

ITV News first mentioned the belt on Monday 7th December: http://www.itv.com/news/channel/update/2015-12-07/last-known-movements-of-adrian-lynch/

SoJP first mentioned the belt on Saturday 12th December: http://www.jersey.police.uk/news-appeals/2015/december/adrian-lynch-road-check-results/

Moving on...

The latest appeal is reaching out to two car drivers that went past the Thistlegrove CCTV minutes after the man thought to be Adrian, one of which is thought to be a taxi.

I would think taxi firms keep a record of bookings right? I'm both surprised they haven't all come forward and police haven't simply checked all Jersey taxi firms records.

I Still don't understand how they know the Belt was his? Unless a family member identified it - when I have been out socialising with friends etc I could not tell you what belt they was wearing

Merry Christmas to everyone

Has there been any official searching recently for this poor lad ? I do check SOJP site but nothing mentioned

there. I know it's been Christmas/New Year and a very busy time for police forces (sadly), but it has gone so

quiet I despair for his family.

Sorry I had to read twice - BBC Teletext?? Now that takes me back to my youth...

On topic..it does seem strange that on an Island that size, that there's still not been any definite leads on this case. Really does make you wonder if something is being covered up
