Happy new year everyone!

Sad that Adrian still hasn't been found but there is a development that seems to have been missed.

The woman that stopped briefly in a car has finally come forward....(or got traced)

Following an appeal, Jersey Police have heard from the driver of the car that momentarily stopped and saw Adrian at 12:20 am on the night he was last seen.

The female driver said she was startled by his presence and describes him as looking vacant and disorientated, the driver did not speak with him and saw him walk off.

I would be interested in why she took so long to come forward or worse waited for the police to find her.

My assumption was that she didn't realise it was her because she didn't actually speak to him. She probably didn't think she had any useful information.

The belt is the strangest part of the puzzle. I asked several male friends how they think a belt can end up out of the pant loops on a drunken or distraught trek through town and all of them were adamant that the belt would never come off voluntarily for something "normal" like relieving oneself. One thing that has some to mind though, while you all were discussing a tourniquet, is not to stem the flow of blood but to inject. Is heroin popular or problematic in Jersey? This would explain the unsteady or "disorientated" state and seemingly erratic behavior. It would also make you somewhat numb/ignorant to the chill. Of course there are other things that can be injected as well, including molly and more benevolent things like insulin. As for the belt being his, I would be able to identify the belt my husband wears, so perhaps his mother or girlfriend were able to do so as well.

I read upthread that he was yelling for Ella. If you check his Facebook, he does indeed have a local friend named Ella and a tagged photo of them both with their friends on the night before he went missing. She has nothing else posted between the 5th and the 12th, and that is the most I believe I can say here. I simply hope the police have spoken to her as she may be a key to his state of mind that evening. Perhaps there was a breakup or he saw her with someone else and thus his foray into the night began in a very irrational state?

I am concerned about the water east of the stables. One of the news reports mentioned firefighters did search the water but I am unclear on the names of things in this area - have those bodies been soundly cleared? It is not a far walk and in the dark I find it very probable he ended up there.

How far would CCTV go in that area? The fact that he was not seen on any recording past the stables makes me think he is right around there deceased. The only other explanation is he left the area in a car. Just recently we had the case of Lachlan Simpson, who also left a party drunk and was headed home. He ended up in a burn in the opposite direction, drowned and was washed out to sea. In that case the dogs also ended up with dead-end scents, I assume due to the water and marshes. We also had Henry McCabe in the US, who left a club drunk with a friend, was dropped off about 5 km from his home, and was found months later drowned in a small lake in a nearby park where, we assume, he simply fell in. It does look like there is fencing or other barriers to this lake at least off of Le Hucquet which is how you'd think he would get there. If he is not in the water, I have a feeling a farmer will find him eventually. I wonder if the stables and grounds have been searched thoroughly?

The belt confuses me as well.
Possible reason for taking it off -
Tourniquet
Sex
Noose
Strangulation
To undress
Hypothermia

He may have also just been uncomfortable. I always regret wearing a belt after a night out, as by the end of the night (and if your stomach is bloating from alcohol and food) it is digging into my stomach and rubbing. I can't wait to take it off - and he may have done the same in his wandering.

Guys don't notice these things. If that was a problem he'd loosen the belt, not remove it.

This should be considered for sure.

There is mention on the Facebook group that the police are investigating local car mechanics.

Police looking for 5 people who were in the area the same time Adrian was: a hitchhiker, a taxi driver plus passenger, and 2 men on motorbikes

The standout here is the taxi driver and passenger. I can't think how the police haven't found them (as they're clearly avoiding coming forward). They know that fair went from the Weighbridge taxi rank in St Helier to St Lawrence at around the same time as Adrian. There are a number of CCTV cameras around the Weighbridge taxi rank.

And surely the police have spoken to the homeowners of the house they went to or simply checked all the taxi company records? Ergo the police should know exactly who they are. So why are they appealing?

Well TTWO, I don't suppose the police release every bit of information they have that might be relevant.

Honestly saying this in hope, because the car and passengers that Adrian was seen talking to doesn't seem to have been traced either (as far as we know).

I understand the description is a bit vague, silver car, possibly Polo or similar - but it is a small island so I'd feel more confident if the SOJP made people aware that they are working through all silver Polos/similar owned on the island, so if it is YOU be aware and come forward now.
Is that a really difficult job? Do they not have enough employees to check lists and visit?

MOO of course, and I don't mean any criticism of the force.

Let's hope this provides some help.
The SOJP must also consider that the car owner or their mates may have been capable of doing their own car repair, not everyone goes to a mechanic/bodywork garage.

And that is completely correct but IMO they don't help themselves when they answer the following question the way they did: (from the Jersey Evening Post 16th December)

Granted the question possibly should have stopped at 'reasons'.

Are you holding back evidence, even for sound operational reasons, that explain what might have happened to Mr Lynch?

No evidence is being held back. We appreciate that many rumours are circulating, especially on social media, which are not helpful to the investigation or, more importantly, Adrian’s family.

Adrian’s last movements have been widely publicised and there is nothing to suggest anything in his life would make him want to disappear.

He is essentially a lovely young man, with a lovely family and everything to live for. We believe this to be a very tragic case.

I also don't like the standard response from LE these days of taking a swipe at 'social media' which rubs off on forums such as this.

Quite agree, hope you didn't misunderstand my post btw.

I keep looking here for any further comment or information, and there's nothing.

I'm no expert, but I wonder if the police are now considering murder/accidental killing and hiding of body.

They're heading back to properties in the small search area to do more extensive searches.

I wish they'd done that before!

A friend of Adrian's says it wasn't unusual for him to remove his belt. Police think he did so towards the end of the period of sightings. I don't think the belt is significant at all, except to place him.

Did the friend say why he removes his belt?? Bit of a strange one...

Massive red flags now in this case:

Jerseyeveningnews said:
Officers say they are now also looking for his driving licence and passport after it emerged he was carrying them on the night he vanished.

It is not normal at all to be carrying your passport on a works Christmas night out. No wonder police were checking the ports.

I can't help but think we're being drip fed a very different scenario now.
