Ford Transit Connect (2008)

An ironic Ford Escort van

i dont even know what to say, really hope they find her soon. we recently had reports or a pedophile hanging around a school taking photos of the children but police did NOTHING,beyond belief that he could escalate into something like this.

i agree with a previous poster,if the perp wanted to get away he would/could be up here (in scotland by now) i will keep my eyes open on the off chance.where i am we are surrounded by countryside and hill and valleys.

Sky have just put up photos of a LandRover Defender 90

I think kids would be able to recognise and name a LandRover/Jeep type vehicle - they have them as toys and are a distinctive shape and style.

No more van pics for now - I think we have a general idea of the possible shapes, although I would be inclined to keep thinking along the European line - we have a large migrant population, with their own vehicles

If it was a van with the drivers side on the left then that would narrow it down somewhat if it was a local. There can't be many like that. I wonder if they have a family member or friend in mind? Not much is being said about the family.

The family have been mentioned in the pressers, saying they are distraught and have specialist officers with them. I don't get any bad feelings about the immediate family being involved, which makes a pleasant change.

Others believe that the close-knit tranquil market town of Machynlleth must have been purposely targeted by an outsider.

The Daily Mail reported that April's parents are Coral, 40, and Paul, 43, and locals said she came from a "loving home" with parents who are "beside themselves with worry."

A neighbour told the Daily Mail: "She is the apple of her parent's eyes - in Welsh we call her “cariad bach”, a little darling. They are a lovely people who dote on April."

If the vehicle is from Europe then it may have different coloured number plates?.

Hoping she is found safe soon. I'm on the Isle of Man but will keep a look out as we're only 2 hours away by boat, and any things possible right now. Also making sure everyone i have on Facebook is aware

If April's playmates were 5 or 6 years old, they should be able to yield some important clues if properly interviewed. It must not have been a violent encounter or I think they would have run home and told their moms.
I pray for LE and all the searchers today...Praying April can be located soon and that she can come home to her loving family.

They have stressed that April went willingly. They are taking their time interviewing the kids and this seems to be working.

I have found a CCTV camera in the town centre. I hope that LE have checked this?
These are usually local authority/police owned. Its next to the town clock. Right on the junction with the A487, the petrol station to the left would probably also have cctv.
I also wonder about the buses - many have cctv nowadays. To help the bus companies prosecute drivers who park in bus stops etc.
I have emailed these thoguhts to Dyfed Police.

I am hoping that this is the case as a local would have used the many back roads not going through the town. By looking at the map it looks as if you do not know the local area you wouldnt take them.

Left hand drive vehicle are not as uncommon as you think, a vehicle left hand drive with foriegn plates can stay in this country for six months without being registered.

I dont think shes close to the town,i think the abductor would have kept driving well away from the area..

It's a document from last year, but according to this, Dyfed-Powys police had 87 fixed ANPR cameras at the time of writing. My guess Brum and Liverpool will have many hundreds more!

According to Wiki,

The National ANPR Data Centre allows analysis across police force boundaries.[4] If a vehicle enters the ANPR network, the police should have an image of it entering the area, which may also show the driver and passenger. As the data generated is stored for two years the police argue criminals could be identified and linked to vehicles.[4]

In theory that vehicle should be captured. Whether the vehicle drove past one of the Welsh cameras and if it did, they can review the data quickly enough to find April alive and well is another matter.
