Plus wine and beer do not mix. Two drinkers? I know men drink wine, but given a preference mine would prefer a beer at home. Our neighbours tend to have recycling bins close to that fill at party times, say Christmas. Divide that lot by two over two weeks and it's still a lot of booze drinking.
As a formerly addicted alcoholic, I can tell you that I heard horror stories when in rehab of the lengths some alcoholics will go to to get alcohol. Once one reaches a certain point, they don't care what it tastes like or if it mixes well as long as there is alcohol in it. Some people will drink hair tonic, cough medicine, cologne or mouthwash.
It is also quite common for an alcoholic to swear off hard liquor, using the faulty reasoning that they can't possibly have a drinking problem if all they drink is beer or wine. Clearly, this is a false premise since alcohol is alcohol regardless of what else is in it. The only difference; 'liquor is quicker!".
I don't know how it is over there, but where I live in Texas, liquor stores have more limited hours and aren't allowed near schools and churches but beer and wine are readily available in grocery and convenience stores until midnight.
All this to say that I believe that the presence of both beer and wine does not necessarily indicate that it was not consumed by the same person.
