This is weird. Why is the first I have heard of this was today if it was urgent? They didn’t even give a surname for two weeks!

also amazing how she’s not been seen since mid February, only reported two weeks later as travelling to Dundee, and another two week until today.

sickening and really sorry to consider what has happened here

I can't help thinking about why he kept the eldest alive. Was she his biological child?

That could well be it. It could be the other way around, too. If the younger one is his it's not impossible that the rage and sense of ownership were directed at the woman and their shared child. Another child could have seemed like an outsider to whatever was the source of his rage, and hence would not have been a target. Or it could be something else entirely. It's so difficult to figure out anything about a mind that's capable of something like this.

From the article in the Scottish Sun, it sounds as though Bennylyn and her children had been living in some sort of housing scheme for women escaping domestic violence whilst in Bristol. I wonder where they lived previously.

Oh man, I hope this doesn't turn out as dark as the possibilities my mind is throwing up.

Murder probe launched over missing mother and two-year-old daughter
“This is a complex inquiry involving both local officers in Dundee and specialist resources from across Police Scotland.

“Bennylyn’s next of kin have been updated on the arrest and are being supported by colleagues from Avon and Somerset Police.

“Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this very difficult time.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area for a considerable period of time and I would like to thank the local community for their cooperation.

“Anyone with concerns or information can speak to a local officer or call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident 1434 of March 5 2021.”
