HERE :)

I've added the cctv sightings, Napier Street is not exact as it runs both sides of Summerfield Street and I'm not sure where the cameras have seen them. I've had a look on streetview and spotted cameras on both sides

:tyou::tyou::tyou:

I'm not. I knew she hadn't just accidentally gone the wrong way home of her own volition, there had to be a reason for her to be in that area. So where were they between 2:41 (Dev Cat) and 3:35 (Napier St)? Did they drink anywhere else? Probably not at that time, did they go back to his and it turned nasty?

I'd assumed they were at the Devonshire Cat, would it still be open at 3.30 I wonder?

Seeing rooms that are not there? What drugs where they taking!!
Bit rude?

As has already been said a door may have a 'staff only' sign on it which some may take to be a 'staff room' but which isn't what would typically be 'A staff room' ...

I don't know, but if they were on CCTV at 2:41 when they were going in, you'd think there'd be footage of them leaving. As that appears not to be the case I'm wondering if they walked up there to get a taxi

*goes off for a little meander on streetview*

If they suspect rape then surley there was something there at the crimes scene to suggest that she was or evidence of someone else being there, I would be interested to know if they found evidence of another person being at that scene, there are a lot rape cases but how many do we hear that result in murder??? her cause of death so far is still " inconclusive" and its still unexplained how ended up where she was found

i would like like to know how she was on the CCTV was drunk, or sober?

I'm shocked and saddened for the second day in a row ... I had SO hoped that this wasn't sinister :(

I think the evidence of suspected rape may have come from the autopsy. Possibly bruising on the inner thighs, vaginal tearing etc (hate typing that)

Just thinking could the rape have been caught on CCTV before they parted?

This is what I'm thinking. So, if he raped her between 2:41am and 3:35am, was she disoriented when they "parted" (leaving in the opposite direction of her home) or maybe actually seen running when seen on CCTV?

ETA: I agree, Skib, that there would be evidence of rape from the autopsy, too.

Looking at the map (thanks Skibs) she's walking in totally the wrong direction to her home isn't she. Why would they part company in Napier street.

It does look like there are three roads that lead to Summerfield Street, there's Napier Street, Ecclesall Road and Cemetry road. So if somebody knew she was heading in the direction of Summerfield street from Napier road, somebody could run via Cemetery road or Ecclesall road and get to where she was heading without her knowing, possibly even get there before her.

ETA there are actually 4 roads that lead to SummerfieldStreet, as there's Pomona Street to the left of it too (I was only looking from the right before) Looks like there's also a pavement that runs horizontally across to Summerfield street (behind weatherspoons)

I also think the evidence of suspected rape came from the autopsy. They could tell that she was raped but they haven't got any evidence as to how she actually died.. Which is why they've just arrested this guy on suspicion of rape & nothing else.

It's about a 15-20 minute walk (in the wrong direction from her halls) from the Devonshire Cat to Napier Road and Summerfield Rd.

So there was about 55 minutes between the first sighting at Devonshire Cat and the final sighting at the river on Summerfield Rd, less, say, 20 mins to walk over there, leaving 35 minutes unaccounted for.

If she'd just been raped she might have been trying to get to Ecclesall Rd (A625) to flag down a passing motorist to ask for help? Maybe halfway down Summerfield Road she needed to be sick and went into the bushes at the side of the bridge to be sick? And somehow never made it any further, and instead died down in that brook?

Do you think she could have been raped and then taken her own life because of the rape? Though not likely that she'd have medication to do that with her and any other method would have shown up on the PM. Would hypothermia show up on a first PM?

Perhaps the PM showed signs or recent sexual activity..perhaps forced.. cctv could corroborate whether Caroline was In a fit enough state to give consent...

Precisely and perhaps cctv showed that she was in no fit state to give consent..hence the rape charge
