Hello all, I’m new to this thread but have had an interest in the case for many years. Have been enjoying reading all your great posts.

I’d like to know if anyone has any thoughts on the focus car that braked sharply outside CL house that morning ? I think out of all the sightings, cctv images, this is the most prominent. Why would someone suddenly break right outside her house at that time of morning. The timeline also matches with her leaving for work . Was it her lift or someone suddenly spotting her?

I know Claudia wanted the exercise, however why didn't she take the bus in the morning and walk back in the afternoon.

@Pinkizzy Is the earliest bus not 5;48 that gets there at 6:20

I don’t think there is a direct bus? York is a pain for some places across the city. By the time you’ve changed buses, you could have walked. Edit: Unless timetable has changed significantly, first direct bus isn’t until after 6am.

I guess you can walk down to Layerthorpe or Fourth Ave and get the bus from there but I think it’s easier to just walk from Heworth when not raining. And if like C I was trying to get fit, I’d just keep walking. And it would depend on my return journey. You can get a day rover ticket which would be nearly as much as a single, but if I wasn’t coming back on the bus, or I was getting a lift or maybe going somewhere else, I would just walk. JMO.

Hi @Eve71 It could have been Claudia's lift
It could have been Claudia returning from a night out
It could have been Claudia's hearse
Perhaps even Peter Ruane / Jen King or both returning from something breaking and reversing into his driveway at Number 41
But as well as the car. What about the shadows lurking in the vicinity?

Oh and welcome back Eve71

Pete Ruane - his properties implicate and as ML has said I wonder if the Ford Ranger was his too. Perhaps he twisted the truth with reporters who may have already checked 192.com, justifying his *distinctive, conspicuous* car--if his--being there as a live-in homeowner perhaps with driveway overspill rather than a landlord either visiting/collecting Claudia at her's or using the parking space outside her house while he visited his local pub. Was PR at the pub March 18th? Was the car park full? Was HR driveway full? Was the HR house vacant? Does this mean Dark Man could be checking for parking space that evening and that he in a car drove into HP a little while later? Would make sense to check while driving unless he was checking for someone else ofc, who presumably drove in/out even soonafter. Bus CCTV shot the Ford Ranger, 9.01pm March 18th I believe. Very frustrating as I remember the FR, in fact I remember seeing 2 or 3 large black SUV style cars parking up in NH car park over time, but not who they belonged to.

What about cars? Can you remember the owners of any COI??
You know I can’t believe that people being mentioned here are guilty of anything serious.
Most would have to be innocent bless them but forced to air their dirty linen in public .
And this they had to endure for the last ten years!
Ps I do not know anyone being mention here.

Re the black Ford Ranger Thunder pick up truck. Police made a point of announcing that this had been resolved after the owner came forward although there could be more to this as you have alluded.

What about the so called wall of science tho? Guilty of not speaking out?

Perjury is a very serious charge in UK law.

The police made it clear they are proven liars. Just because a charge of murder wouldn't stick doesn't alter the fact that they lied and wasted police time during an investigation of a major crime. They were not forced to air anything, they made that choice when they decided to collectively say nowt.

The things iiiiiiiiiiis, people are entitled to say nowt. It's up to the police to provide evidence of guilt

If they say they have never had a relationship with her and knew her on nodding terms only in the pub - then later it is discovered that they had an intimate relationship with a woman who is missing, presumed murdered, then they have put themselves right in the middle of it. So the police have a right to ask why they have lied and can have reasonable grounds for arresting them. They can play the big hard man all they like, moan about their human rights etc. but if they behave in a duplicitous manner, they shouldn't be surprised if police no longer trust their word. When all's said and done, the public (especially 'vulnerable' females, which I believe she was) need protection from whoever did this or whoever is prepared to cover for the perpetrator. Remember we aren't just talking about the death which may subsequently be argued as 'accidental', but the removal and concealment/disposal of the body and prevention of her lawful burial.
