A few snippets here. There is a section on Halliwell for those who believe in that line of enquiry.
  • Police believe local people know what happened to her, but have kept silent over the past decade.
  • NYP said there had been a lack of co-operation from witnesses.
  • CCTV of a car braking suddenly outside her house led some to believe that she had been picked up.
  • Her father Peter believes the answer to her disappearance lies in the pub.
  • Mark Williams-Thomas, a criminologist: I think there are two individuals involved in her disappearance and I think over time when they get into a position where they either fall out with loved ones or they talk loosely will get into a position where we will be able to solve this. "The people known to Claudia are those that hold the vital clues. Even now there are people who are not telling the truth.”
  • DS Malyn said: “One hypothesis is something could have happened overnight with another person in the house and then the alleyway was an obvious way out. “I know people have lied to us. People may lie because they’re in a relationship. “One motive for not coming forward already is because they might have been in a relationship with Claudia and don’t want people to find out.”

An
If they say they have never had a relationship with her and knew her on nodding terms only in the pub - then later it is discovered that they had an intimate relationship with a woman who is missing, presumed murdered, then they have put themselves right in the middle of it. So the police have a right to ask why they have lied and can have reasonable grounds for arresting them. They can play the big hard man all they like, moan about their human rights etc. but if they behave in a duplicitous manner, they shouldn't be surprised if police no longer trust their word. When all's said and done, the public (especially 'vulnerable' females, which I believe she was) need protection from whoever did this or whoever is prepared to cover for the perpetrator. Remember we aren't just talking about the death which may subsequently be argued as 'accidental', but the removal and concealment/disposal of the body and prevention of her lawful burial.
And if they are capable of this they are capable of doing it again-Something we don't know if they did as a few have died have they not?

I think some of them admitted to having an affair with Claudia after the police produced evidence of their DNA in her house

So falling out with loved ones is possibly a driver. That indicates that Loved ones know?

@moonsafari Need to get some more detail on who is in the picture attached with their back to camera in Dark T shirt and
Who is guy in white shirt who looks like he is behind bar but probably in front of bar socialising.

I Know who the dancing couple are.

Also, were there particular nights that Lock-ins occured-Weekends or were there also some on "School nights"

Be great if you could take a look at this Pic

You know I can’t believe that people being mentioned here are guilty of anything serious.
Most would have to be innocent bless them but forced to air their dirty linen in public .
And this they had to endure for the last ten years!
Ps I do not know anyone being mention here.
Are you a fan of the Fab 4 then @Popejohn3

I reckon the blond man is the co landlord SS or ÀC

Its not SS but if it was AC then this would be a valuable siting of him as I don't believe we have any. It looks on observing closely that he is in front of bar so may not be bar staff. I believe that someone suggested he had a scar on his face?

I may have confused everyone with the Bubble so attached again a clean shot and one of SS in 2008/9 and one later in 2014-he appears to have a rounder face than guy stood at bar?
It could be the long standing barman Dave or Jim Melson?
It also looks like that apart from the woman with the red top flashing a bit of shoulder that there is also another woman obscured by the unknown guy in the dark T shirt.

And what appears beyond me is that Lee Horwell in the foreground dancing-Why would a very attractive woman of 35 have an affair with him???

Im hoping that @moonsafari recognises some of these also

I'm sure. Of course one friend helpfully informed the press that Claudia often invited the Nag's Head crowd back to her home for a takeaway, thereby providing an alibi for any DNA found in number 46.

Yes @Yozzer that would account for some of the DNA but perhaps the Bodily fluids may present a more interesting find :)

Dna in her house proves nothing.

Not in this case where NYP think it was one of her acquaintances, agreed.
But it builds a case against some one whose initial response to police was to deny knowing her. A jury would take a dim view of blatant lying.
