I would expect her to clear out Dady's car if she used it before returning particularly if someone smoked.

I phoned nypd ten days ago in order to clarify something.
I had an automated reply saying we’ll ring you back. I did get a call hours later and after a brief conversation was told that someone from the right dept would ring me back . I am still waiting 9 days later !
I phoned the number I was called from three times.Every time too busy.
This is a cold case !More like frozen solid !

On her own, so more vulnerable? Lived relatively near to both parents (whereas the sister lives in the Peak District I believe), therefore they saw Claudia regularly.

I never thought of something like that. Wouldn't her mother (maybe her father also) have told something about it, at least to police (if not to media)? Immediately after CL's disappearing?

Wasn't the car seen on University Road (near the couple arguing) represented as a maroon estate car on Crimewatch? That's a coincidence.

I am sure the family and others have shared lots of info with police which hasn't been disclosed to the public and will have been told to say nothing.

If CL felt, she had one bad, dangerous relationship and even told her parents about it (which I think, she certainly didn't often), then I can't understand, why CL didn't accept their offer for a taxi drive or dad's car or why she hadn't arranged for a daily ride with a colleague.
Even without any bad relationship her way to work in the dawn was somewhat risky, IMO. But she liked to "excercise", didn't she say so, being on foot the long and lonely way.

5.35am - Couple seen on Melrosegate Bridge
5.42am - old style Ford Focus seen braking near Claudias home
6.00am - Claudia fails to arrive for work
6.10am - Couple seen arguing on University Road, Maroon coloured car parked there
6.45 - 6.55am - Man seen standing outside Claudias home
12.10 noon - Claudias phone is switched off
1pm - a rucksack similar to Claudias is spotted near university

It’s interesting how someone was supposed to have found the rucksack or similar and the pub people told him to go to police but nothing else was mentioned afterwards .

rucksack never found when police went to look. Was another diversionary red herring reported by Perps
Person who reported it wouldn't give name or ever came forward
If you saw a rucksack lying in ground why would you not pick it up or if reporting it refuse to give your name.?
