And this is where it gets complicated because we have the 'reluctance of some' who, in 2009, were married or with partners and did not want to disclose their connection to CL to protect their own hides. We know she had dozens of 'friends' or 'associates' but only 1 or maybe 2, killed her. The rest were just playing away from home and this muddied the waters of the investigation.
but a DNA test would not show who was playing away from home would it?

I have issue with 'cut stylishly with a fringe' :)
I have an issue with 'smartly but casually dressed'. I have studied various pics of this individual (due to having similar suspicions) and he lives in washed out jeans and t shirts (and I mean like he's just come off a building site). Unless he made a special effort?

Possibly. Today in most parts of Northern Europe jeans and T shirts are corporate dress

Since when CL's car had been in repair? Why did CL's mum AND dad offer a possibility, to get to her work place (one offered a taxi, one offered his own car)?? All their thoughts circled around her second daughter? Why at all?
According to DCI Lucy POpe the car had been I. Repair for a "few weeks" before she went missing. Focus around Claudia probably because she was not securely settled down with a "nice married husband and children"

On the night of her disappearance Peter offered Claudia the use of her car the next Day:

He said that when he spoke to her just before 7.30pm on Wednesday, he had offered Claudia the use of his car on Thursday because he was going to London. “I wasn’t surprised when she said: ‘No, the weather’s beautiful, I’m going to walk’

Bt that would have entailed him popping around and who might he have discovered her with?

This man has done so much for Claudia and was a great father to her.
I wonder if the police checked for finger prints / dna from mr Lawerence car ?
He did lend it to her a few times and I’m guessing over weekends because he would have needed it for work .Did she travel far for weekends ? Did she have any passengers?

I would expect her to clear out Dady's car if she used it before returning particularly if someone smoked.
Anyway it would be cheaper by train for her

On her own, so more vulnerable? Lived relatively near to both parents (whereas the sister lives in the Peak District I believe), therefore they saw Claudia regularly.
@FromGermany Do you think they may have known of a relationship problem and were trying to protect her?

actually, I dont recognise the photo, but the description you have given is spot on!

Quite. And I don't want to cast aspersions on this guy's good name ;). Just don't think his preferred dress style matches that description unless he was making a humongous effort.

No but NYP would have liked people who knew her in any capacity to come forward voluntarily to speed up the investigation and these players obviously didn't for their own selfish reasons and fear their spouses and partners would become involved and their infidelity exposed. They should have been charged with wasting police time, once discovered. And in not coming forward, it made them look even more suspicious, hence the arrested and very disgruntled 4.

I dont understand why the "Disgruntled 4 weren't charged with something, even if it was just wasting or perverting. Anything to shut up the Narcissist with the Big Mouth.

I've been wondering this also....
You can give a DNA sample on voluntary basis, but can only compel if arrested. Then you get into grounds for arrest etc etc. So, I would say that you're on the right track, that the refusal to give DNA on a voluntary basis, has hampered the investigation. Now I'm wondering about GF, with the embassy cigarettes et al......
The police can apply to a judge to force a suspect to provide a DNA sample

I think Dai Malyn was spitting feathers when announcing the CPS decision not to charge them. He said something like 'there's a lot I would like to say but can't for legal reasons'. Make no mistake, he was furious and had his hands tied.
