Now we've established we all love each other and our trousers..

It would make sense if he hitched a lift and left his phone in the car. Why that person wouldn't come forward though I don't know

I would assume that the only reason the person wouldn't come forward, if that was the case, is because they have done something that might incriminate them.

Hitched a lift and dropped his phone getting out of the lift. It happens.

ETA: It did happen to Adrian Lynch in Jersey

As a young teen I ran away and the person who took us in was an older friend. They told us never to tell anyone it was them who helped us, as we were safe and we later returned home. They didn't want to get into trouble. So this person may be a friend, knows Corrie is safe, doesn't want to get in trouble and will let Corrie lead his next move. Risky but people sometimes can only see whats in front of him.

Good post!
If I had of helped Corrie out if he wanted to go awol and then the whole media thing kicked in I wouldn't come forward at this point in fear of the backlash - in saying that though, the heartbreak of Nicola would really eat at my conscience

Guys, if you could take a moment, there's another thread to look at, it's not Corrie related, it's actually an ongoing case quite close to where I live, very little info to go on but with a husband and kids it's a strange one.

Add it to the Uk list, you'll get loads more people picking it up.

Yes I saw that. Looks like the BBC messed up their reports completely and have now correct the misinformation.. Should I delete?
It could be both. The public were donating direct to SULSAR initially and it got to about £8k . That page closed when the other one began. So they may have done some free searching as they have already received those initial funds directly from the public.

I like to think I'd tell his mum. Unless I knew he was safe and alive, then the onus is on him..

Wouldn't it be an idea to search the actual bases now? I.e. honington and mildenhall to start witn.JMO.
Oh yeah and get the gate cctv for that weekend unless they got it early on in the investigation.

You'd have to hope they've done this already with honington. I'm not sure how it works with usaf bases whether the police need permission?

Obviously I don't know your age when that happened to you chicken if under 18 it may be considered a crime, but in corries case, if it is not against his will then no crime as he is over 18. So if someone were helping him, they would have nothing to fear and could call it into the anonymous lines or police lines or even message nicola herself without any worries.

You know what, I think I'd tell his mum anyway. I'd reason that if he was capable of putting his family through this he's not the sort of person I'd want as a friend.

It's a hard call isn't it. I think I'm inclined to agree with you. A few weeks is one thing but when your mum is out physically searching so close to Christmas and appealing for help.

To a certain degree as an adult it would be on him to do the right thing but perhaps that's what the anonymous tip was about?

It would also really depend on if the person who gave him a lift had heard from him since then. If no contact and suddenly he's reported missing you'd call the police wouldn't you?

Unless we're looking at usaf who may not know the friend or even aquaintence is missing since then.

Chicken, your post reminded me that I too ran away from home in my early teens, twice in fact. Both times I stayed with the sister (& her partner) of my boyfriend at the time. Despite both families and the police calling on her to see if she had seen us, she denied it both times.

So yes, I can't 100% rule out this scenario either (although I think it is the least likely of all possible scenarios discussed thus far).

What journalism! Very specific headline: Corrie link to police search for missing man in Cromer, but it seems to be based entirely on Facebook speculation?!

"A police sergeant on the scene confirmed they were searching for a missing man as part of a county-wide operation - leading some to speculate that it may be linked to the search for missing RAF Honington serviceman Corrie McKeague.

However, no other details have been made available.

Commenting on the story on the North Norfolk News Facebook page, Poppy Jeanie Carr said: “I wonder if they are looking for Corrie as it says it’s a countrywide operation? He went missing on the Norfolk Suffolk border around 11 weeks ago but searches have ramped up this weekend."

I can't defend the local journalism haha

However the wording is interesting. Instead of not saying what they were looking for they've said it's in connection with a missing man. What missing men are out there currently aside from Corrie?

I have never heard of that place mentioned before?

Me neither! Can't see it being about Corrie tbh...But you just never know, anything is possible I guess

Cromer is a lot closer to me than bse is. Strange if a crime has been committed in bse they'd drive a body to the coast opposed to thetford forest (all speculation of course assuming its related)

I'll record my local news again tonight.
