Please find below, the second Q and A session. My fingers hurt! xx I'll also add this to the blog area on my profile in case you ever have trouble finding it. x
Live Q & A with Nicola Urquart, Corrie’s mum -Session 2
On the other side of road where Corrie can be seen walking down the road and he stops and heads into bin area, on that side of road there’s a huge area of business premises, private shops, empty properties and there’s a lot of property there. I've acquired footage from a drone of the area and it’s massive. It runs parallel with St. Johns street and Short Bracklands and meets Well street at the bottom. This area he could have easily got into as easy as anywhere in horse shoe. But this is an area that has not been forensically searched, every room not entered and I have big problem with this. It’s not something i can do or request salsa to do - the buildings are private property and the only role who can are police. The police have made some effort and have had equipment to look on top of buildings and had some aerial footage given to be able to see on top. They have done some door to door enquiries knocking on doors asking if anyone is aware or heard anything that night but it took 7 week before this was done. If someone has someone tied up in their house or they have done something to him I don't think they'd tell someone at their door.
I would like that searched, forensically searched in the same manor as the horseshoes has been but it’s a big resource. The police just found out, 10 weeks in, about the council industrial bins slightly down Short Bracklands and started looking into them and that process. The area is similar to the horseshoe, but much smaller but again there is no CCTV of this area so he could have walked in there, climbed up stairs and been on or around roofs and gone a considerable distance and would explain if he isn't in the area how he has got out by not being seen on cameras but i haven't been on roof myself to see. Again this is something I would really like looked at by the police and then I can give you more information.
*User asks about vehicles that go into the horseshoe*
Between 3am and 6am, only 4 vehicles go in. The 4 are bin lorry at 4.20 then another 3. Now I am very deliberately just now, as being asked not to by police, giving any more details about those vehicles. I think something else frustrating is, I believe 3 have legitimate reason for being there for work but 1 doesn’t. The vehicles have been identified and the drivers have been spoken to and are still under investigation at this time. Although i’ll be speaking to police hopefully this week but with it being christmas it’s difficult, but I'm looking to be able to provide you with more information on this as i think its pertinent that more info is given so people can help but just now I will respect there is more enquires ongoing and I won’t say more about the vehicles.
*User asks could Corrie be hiding due to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder?*
No, he was not suffering from PTSD, he couldn't be hiding because he's not still in the horseshoe, search teams have been in and they don't see him in there so i don't believe this is case at all.
*User asks can drones be used to search roofs?*
Yes, there have been helicopters up taking footage and there has also been drone footage obtained, and no sign of Corrie.
*User asks about the image that Tony (Nicola’s brother) put up of RAF Marham?*
Again, this is something that could be ruled out but I've had a huge difficulty in getting the police to investigate for me. I would like to say again, as I have from the start, I personally, and this is personal opinion, I don't believe the Marham incident to be connected to terrorism. My concern is it was something different and sexually motivated. I've explained to the police as Corrie had connection to Marham as he went there with work. It’s not out of realms of possibility that if two gentlemen have felt someone has been doing something with a wife, could they have tried to take retaliation/revenge and got the wrong man? Or it could be sexual predators who have tried with someone from Marham and failed then tried again, and got Corrie. I think something can be looked into, I've been in touch with military and pushed the point and they will look into it but only thing I heard in two weeks since is what everyone else has seen which is attempted robbery or road rage, to say I'm disappointed is an understatement but hope police still will look into this, if not it will be something I will ask a private investigator to look into on behalf of our family to rule it out. So that’s as far as Marham goes.
*User asks do you think anyone is involved from the nightclub?*
Corrie went into 3 pubs, SO Bar, Weather Spoons and Flex. I can only say what I've been told and viewed on cctv so far, and that is that every image I’ve seen of him, and I've asked was he having any problems arguing or was he causing a problem? He will go up and talk to anyone, absolutely anyone and this does sometimes upset other men who think they have got a look in/lucky with a lady, but then Corrie moves in and starts speaking to them, It’s a reasonable question, could he have upset some one? I’ve been categorically told by police that there is no footage of him upsetting anyone or causing a problem. There was a man who said he saw Corrie in the early evening, around 9pm, extremely argumentative and causing a problem. Someone else said someone looked like Corrie was having a problem with a group from travelling fraternity. I spoke to a lady yesterday, Nikki, she had already contacted the police with her husband and tried to give a statement as she was there that night. They didn't listen so she went to the pod to give her information but again didn't feel they listened to her. So she then approached me and told me about it, I thought the police had taken her seriously when I introduced them. I asked them to note her details but she still feels they hadn't really spoken to her properly about it. She says she doesn’t believe it was Corrie that she saw but her husband says he looked very similar. It was a young man who was put out of Flex for also being a bit too drunk and a bit aggressive. He crossed over to Laura Ashley’s (store) and was being badly sick outside. Given that people think he looked similar to Corrie, it could explain why some people thought they saw him that night but was another boy who had too much to drink as well but he had not faired so well. It Could mean someone was annoyed with this boy but then they’ve seen Corrie and thought “I’ll see him later on.” I don't know? I will ask the police to look into it. The lady tried hard to be taken seriously they should be able to watch CCTV and rule out simply enough.
*User asks can we see the full cctv?*
I wish you could, I can’t. I've been asking since day one, “Can I see all footage of him?” and I was told “Yes”, I would be allowed to see it. I've asked constantly and keep being told “Yes you can see it”, but I've never been allowed to sit down and do so. I started being far firmer in my request but I was then told they would put it all on disc so I can watch it that way. This still hasn't happened. I do think it’s unacceptable. I think there are things I may be able to tell them if I was allowed to watch but police for some reason still haven't let me see it so no, I don't imagine for 1 minute that they'll release for everyone to see.
*User asks do you think the police are hiding something and not letting you see the CCTV?*
No, I don't so. I think it’s down to resources. i don't think the police are hiding anything, I think they’re absolutely trying their best to find him but it is constrained by resources that they have.
They’d already told me when I asked, that if they were to let me sit down and watch it, that’s time when someone else isn't officially reviewing it so they feel it would hamper their investigation by asking so I think that’s what it is, I don't think they're hiding.
*User asks about deployable RAF having 2 Passports?*
No, Corrie didn't. He has one passport and its in his bedroom back at the base.
*User asks have you lost faith in Police Force?*
I won’t go into details. I don't want to put them down more than I already have. It kills me that as a serving police officer, who is incredibly proud of the job I do, I want to be last person in world to criticise a police officer. I know how hard of a job it is. My criticism has never been of individual officers who have to sit and watch CCTV, or go out to do enquiries. It is a much higher level. It’s resources they're being given. I saw article today saying the police are looking into Corrie as a missing person enquiry, but using the resources of murder enquiry. Firstly, Tim Passmore the crime commissioner went on BBC radio Suffolk saying that the police were dealing with this as murder enquiry. The first DCI and superintendent I spoke to said at that early stage they were putting in the groundwork to be able to deal with this as a homicide without evidence or a body, however, the MIT team took over and I feel have only criticised the first officers and the department that were looking for Corrie. But I have not one criticism of them whatsoever. They still didn't do basic door to door knocking to find out if anyone had any information. It was 2 weeks in and they still told people there was no evidence of 3rd party involvement. I feel information could have been lost. or they lost information that could have been gained if they dealt with it differently, but it can’t be changed. It’s about what we've got and it’s about keeping people talking and getting support. Lessons to be learnt will come later.
*Nicola asks users to watch their language and not to put the police down as it doesn’t help. She says they are doing a difficult job.*
*User asks if Corrie had applied for a new passport?*
Corrie hasn't applied for new passport. It was me who applied every year on his behalf or whenever it was due to be renewed. No he hadn't applied for a new on and the one he has is still valid.
*User asks does Nicola have suspects?*
There are links that I think the police should be looking into but aren’t. Three men setting fire to a car only the day after, only short distance away from where Corrie was last seen. I believe this to be very suspicious. I have fought and fought and fought for police to look into this and I think finally they have made some effort to try and look into it, but I think i’ll need a Private Investigator to be able to bottom it out. Could they be suspects? Possibly, I think more likely they will be ruled out but with no evidence of any kind I think it would be decent to rule out what’s there. The person with no legitimate reason for being in the horseshoe, I believe is suspicious and needs looking into. I believe the Marham incident needs looking into more. Also two completely separate people have come forward with info about the A14 (road). That’s two separate people speaking to 2 separate people. The police aware of this. The description they give is frighteningly the same and it’s the only bit of corroborative evidence I've ever been aware of with regards to a sighting of Corrie afterwards.
*User asks could there be link to nightclub?*
Again, this is something police have been aware of and haven't informed me of any updates so there are lines of enquiry I want carrying out but I'm struggling to get police to do it for me.
*User asks about the BMW car keys?*
A lady or gent found BMW keys close to where Corrie was last seen. The same type that he has for his BMW. However, I’ve spoken to the person and they have told me they now believe they are actually a family members. I am still trying to find out if there is any connection to Corrie to try to get the number from the keys but there is a language barrier. I’m hoping to get this bottomed out but it doesn’t appear they're his at this time.
*User asks where is Corrie’s car now?*
Carrie's car is with myself and family. It was me that paid for it, so I have it back now .
*User states they feel like he was meeting someone?*
This is a reasonable assumption that I thought myself. Could Corrie have agreed to meet someone and that’s why he is hanging about the horseshoe? It’s a possibility but how we will ever know when we don't have his phone and when we can’t see some possible conversations. That would bring me to something I feel is vital. There were 36 people seen walking around the horseshoe that night. It’s absolutely down to people on social media and at the pod that now only 6 people are left that need to be identified. So far apparently none of the people who have been identified are people of interest, but I struggle with that a little. But it’s what I'm being told so means I think it is imperative that the last 6 people are identified. I personally have interest in a gentleman seen on the 5th image of the images David put up. I will highlight after this. If people look at the image of the boy on a bike they think someone is in the railings or behind the road works and trying point stuff out. What I need is the person that we can see identified first and foremost. If anything comes up after the police will look but initially it’s the people we can clearly see. I am looking for names. Some are so identifiable. Please share on your page. I know 85k people are on here but there may be people not looking anymore so please share and get them identified, I think they're important.
*User asks about the cars that left after Corrie was last seen in the Horseshoe*
I’ve already explained. There are 4 that go into the horseshoe and all of them have been identified and all drivers spoken to and police are still looking into them.
Nicola takes a moment to say:
“Psychics and mediums, I utterly respect your opinions and I have had positive experiences through work with families that have used them, but please don't offer them on this page. If i want one I will find one that I find appropriate. If anyone contacts me saying they are one I will block them as its’ inappropriate. Respect it for me please. I do believe but its my choice don't force it on me.
*User asks who looking after Louelle (Corrie’s dog) now?*
He’s back home in Scotland. He's fine. He shouldn't have been on base he didn't have permission. He was a tiny puppy and could be hidden easily and shouldn't have been there. He is naturally quiet, he doesn’t bark or wine and he has always been like that. I don't know if this was trained into him but even now he is a very silent dog. Corrie left him in bathroom area of his bedroom. Given that Louelle is so small, he would have to make a huge noise for someone to notice and even then the boys that shared the room wouldn't know that Corrie wasn't in his room, they had no reason to think Corrie wasn't playing with they dog. Louelle had water but was getting distressed and upset but is fine now. Corrie has clearly not expected not to come home as he'd have made arrangements, he adored him.
*User asks why was Corrie left on his own?*
Corrie was not left on his own. He walks into pubs and leaves people he's with. He has always done it and his brothers do it. He still did this when he moved to Bury St Edmunds. He will walk in then walk round going up to strangers, male and female to make friends the old fashioned way. He is charming, he smiles and his accent is not something they expect in England so they forgive him and they talk. It’s successful for him, he's ever without attention so he keeps on doing it.
*User asks about Corrie playing rock paper scissors?*
Lots of people say this is played where you win or lose. It’s not. He did it all time as ice breaker because it worked. Everyone knows how to play and it’s harmless. People did with him.
*User asks why he left his dog all weekend?*
He didn't expect not to go home back to base that night
*User asks how are his grandparents?*
I don’t know. I saw them on the interview and they look distraught. i wouldn’t expect any different. My heart goes out to them. The reward is amazing. The BBC said £10k and including the £50k we have been given by the anonymous couple in bury that’s £60k that someone would get. I can’t talk for his grandparents in saying they’ll get both amounts, but as theirs is for the same reason, to get Corrie back, I would be giving them all of it. It’s a life changing amount so if you know someone is acting strange or something just does not feel right or you feel don't have evidence and don't want to waste police time but just have a hunch, just send me a text on a reward number. It’s me and the boys and my brother answering. We will answer. We will pass to the police and look into it because someone does know something.
*User asks if there are maps of where has been searched?*
Salsa have done phenomenal amount of searches, assisted by the RAF initially. A lot of people have asked what the RAF have done. They have been amazing, I cannot thank them enough for what they’ve done for us. They are never ending in assistance. There is nothing they were asked by police that they didn't do, but they aren't allowed to get involved unless asked to. They have a professional relationship to uphold so have to do what they're asked. Both captains old and new along with others in the RAF have been fantastic so I will not allow one criticism of the RAF or military they've been amazing.
*User asks what did Corrie’s ex boss mean of his “lifestyle”?*
This makes me laugh, I think my brother described as eloquently as he could. He is not so much a social butterfly but a social hand grenade. He is extremely good looking, confident, outgoing lad, going on every dating site to meet people, having fun and enjoying himself. He made no secret of it so he wasn't ashamed of it. We all know exactly who he is and I wouldn't try to paint him any different. It makes him adorable and makes people fall in love with him. He is so full of life, the life and soul of every party. That’s what he meant. He lived for the moment. He will make choices and decisions that are reckless? Yes. Would he get in car? Go to a strangers house? Yes. Meet someone he’s never met before off a dating site? Yes. Does he now who they are? No. He believes he could handle it so he would put at risk where perhaps others would think of safety more. He believe he could look after himself.
*User asks could be interested in men as well as women?*
A lot of people have asked me. People have said as he was in a pink shirt and white trousers, he must be gay. It staggers me that in this day and age people think that. I can honest say hand on my heart that if he was gay would be the most fabulous and proud gay man walking. He would not care who knew, he'd tell everyone. He’s very confident in his sexuality. He has no issues with it. He’s not gay and he classes himself as not gay. So we have to go off that. Are other men attract to Corrie? Yes. Does he like that attention? Yes, but he’s not gay.
*User asks did he have issues with anyone leading up to this?*
We are not aware of anything, Nothing we are aware of. The police have asked if there is anyone he has fallen out with or issues. There is genuinely nothing.
*User asks if Corrie had mental problems or PTSD?*
Nothing.
*User asks about dating sites?*
That’s an issue with not having his phone. Corrie could have been on a site and met someone or agreed to meet someone who was not genuine and would meet them not knowing that wasn't the right person so to me that is something important that needs to be looked at.
*User asks why Corrie spoke to family 40 mins before he went out that night?*
To clarify the issues. First, Corrie didn’t know he was definitely going out that night. He was skint as it was the week before payday and he didn't know if would be able to afford it. But last minute, he decided he would go out. Then he sorted Louelle out and other lads went in the cars. One thought Corrie was in one and the other thought he was in the first car. It wasn't until they got there that they realised Corrie wasn't there. They phoned him and had a laugh about it, so then he had to bring his own car. He parked on Robert Boby Way. When in car, rightly or wrongly, and I know as a police officer it’s wrong, but I don't care right now, i’ll deal with that when he's home. He was sitting in his car drinking and on the phone to his brother Darroch for 46 mins having fantastic conversation. Darroch said to me he was going to be coming see Corrie the next weekend, they were making the final arrangements such as where they going, what they would be doing, who they would be seeing etc. Corrie was in a fantastic mood as his wingman was coming to meet his mates, he couldn't be happier. Darroch went to bed as he works on Saturday mornin. Corrie explained he had to go and meet the lads. He was on social media at the same time, speaking to a good friend who asked for photo to be sent, he sent it that was the message that was sent from Corrie’s phone he sent later on - AUDIO PROBEM
*User asks if there has been any activity with Corrie;s social media or bank account?*
His bank has not been touched since he went missing and his pay has gone in and has not been touched. With regards to his social media, I have access to it and no, there is nothing on it that I can see that makes me think he was trying to meet someone or plan anything through it.
*User asks if Corrie could have gone AWOL?*
This has never ever ruled in. Corrie has not gone AWOL. There isn't one shred of evidence to suggest planning. It was a week before payday, he left his car. And how did he get out of the horseshoe? He's either had to do some serious parkour on buildings or ask a complete stranger for a lift in which case he's then letting it out and that someone would have evidence he is running away. So no to AWOL. It’s never been an option. The military have never recorded him as AWOL, they recorded him as missing as they knew something was wrong. If he wanted to leave he had a decent car he'd wait a week and there were other options. I wish this was an option then he would be out there through his choice, but its not.
*User asks about bouncers asking Corrie to leave?*
I struggled with it myself as well. If he is not causing a problem then and he's never done so before, why would they ask him to leave? But I go with fact they're decent and could see he had too much to drink and they were concerned and could see what he couldn’t. Maybe he was annoying people and was asked to leave for his safety? They would have to answer that.
*User asks if Corrie had any other items on him?*
Property. He had his wallet keys and phone. We don't know if he still has any of it with him. His phone obviously triangulated. He was seen with his wallet on CCTV at Mama Mia’s (takeaway) but I don't know if he will still have them so all things that would be looked into.
*End of Session*
