I keep going on to the Cambridge News site because I'm impatient for the summing up even though Alyce is so quick pasting the news here. My punishment is to hear that awful voice doing his phony 101 call, over and over again.

Jen and CP - look on it as a kind of prison stripe outfit - nothing stylish such as Helen would have worn

Case is about to start

We are waiting for jurors to come in now. Stewart is sitting in the dock wearing a striped shirt with a white collar.

A few of us in here are also wearing stripes Big Bean!!

More agreed facts read out

Jurors are now coming in.

A further document with some more agreed facts in the case is being handed out to them. The agreed facts will now be read to the court.

On July 13, 2016 Edward Farmer provided a witness statement to the police. He stated he had seen Helen Bailey in a black Range Rover in Broadstairs sometime between mid April to the beginning of May 2016.

On November 21, 2016 the defendant informed his solicitors that Joe’s vehicle was a dark Range Rover. The statement of Mr Farmer was provided to the defence on January 9 this year.

It has been established that Helen Bailey was in Broadstairs on March 12, 2016.

just to add, in case anyone does not know this - Mr Farmer's information was in the news long before November 2016, so IS had plenty of time to incorporate it into his story

Great posts Alyce and Torty regarding IS cold actions and almost depriving Helen's friends and family of having a funeral for her.

IS wearing stripes is yet another insult to Helen though he can't do Breton - that was her thing.

How am I supposed to catch up WHEN YOU KEEP POSTING?!!

Helen had memory lapses

Judge Andrew Bright is now continuing his summing up.

Eileen Bailey gave evidence via video link - she told you that in the months before her daughter went missing she was worried about her daughter’s state of mind.

“She said Helen had always had a good memory but had had memory lapses - such as leaving Tesco with a scanner still in her hand and absentmindedly left her dog Boris on the beach

“She said Helen had also described to her that she has been sitting on the computer and had been unable to recognise her own hands.”

Oh wait, I'm caught up. Morning all!

:silly:

Author complained of feeling sleepy

“She remembered Helen telling her she was feeling sleepy a lot of the time and one time about lunchtime Helen had told her she had slept for five hours.

“Helen described to her how she had eaten two poached eggs for breakfast, took Boris out for a walk, and then fell asleep.

“Stewart’s parents had come to the house while Helen was asleep and she was worried about what they may think.

“This phone conversation took place shortly before Helen disappeared.

“Eileen Bailey said Helen had used the expression ‘spaced out’ when reaching up high at supermarket shelves.”

Mother said he been feeling tired since 2012

“Eileen Bailey said she thought Helen’s problems may be to due to her eyesight.

She said Helen had complained of feeling dizzy before Christmas 2015.

“She said she attributed Helen’s memory problems to the menopause at the time.

“She told you that Helen had been feeling sleepy since 2012 but had never before slept for five hours in the day - that was new.

“Eileen Bailey described how when Helen rang her that day she was panicking about having slept for that period of time.”

Helen had been researching sleep issues
On April 8 we know Helen had been searching for ‘can’t stop falling asleep’ and had looked at a Guardian article saying ‘I’m so tired, I can’t stop falling asleep at work’.

Wowzza.....

I still like Judge Bright. Glad that it has been cleared up that Helen was in Broadstairs in the spring.

Witness not aware of Joe and Nick in late husband's business dealings

Helen Bailey and John Sinfield worked at PSL, a licensing company.

They met and started a relationship. Giving evidence via video link from Florida, Mr Christopher Patrick said a man called David Jensen also worked at the company.

“Anthony Hurley told you that the only difficulty he knew in relation to the business dealings of John Sinfield was that David Jensen owed MusicScope £8,000 - relating to a car which David Jensen had argued was an asset of the business.

“The executor had not been able to make any progress. Mr Hurley said he had never heard anyone mention men called Joe and Nick in relation to John Sinfield’s business associates.

“After a while Helen had concluded this matter was not worth following.”

Unresolved issue of £8,000

“Giving evidence, David Jensen said after John Sinfield’s death there was an unresolved issue relating to a sum of £8,000.

“He told you the dispute was between him and the sole executor of John Sinfield’s estate. “He said he had not spoke to Helen since John’s funeral in 2011.”

Police searched diaries for Joe and Nick

“None of the witnesses for the prosecution who gave evidence about John Sinfield’s business affairs had never mentioned Joe and Nick.

“DC Jo-Anne Kerr was asked to find out whether there was any mention to men called Joe and Nick in John Sinfield’s diaries spanning from 2001-2009.

She told you she found references to Jo, Joe, and Nick.”

Relevance of husband's business a matter for the jury

“You now have extracts of Helen Bailey’s book When Bad Things Happen in Good Bikinis, to which the defence say are relevant to the question of whether there were aspects of John SInfield’s business dealings he kept to himself.

“How relevant those business dealings are, are for you to decide.”
